Chic Warehouse

I feel obligated to leave a review since it because of these reviews in which i decided to give Chic warehouse a go. First off, the place doesnt look like much, but the furniture and service is great. I ordered my bedroom set and dining room chairs from there and it just arrived today (took 4 weeks)....and i couldnt be more pleased! I also have to say the delivery service that delivered them today were most impressive with how carefully they handled the furniture! The opening hours are a little inconvenient - that is my only complaint (ok, and it isnt for people that want their furniture immediately). However, i found it a great experience and am headed back to look for more living room furniture...... Pros: Quality, service, prices Cons: waiting time for delivery (was warned up front though), inconvenient store hours more

Okay so here is the deal.. You found a sofa and chair, or maybe a dinning room table, how about a coffee table or side tables at CrateandBarrel, Pottery Barn, or Restoration Hardware? Hold on!!! Don't do anything yet. Go to Chic Warehouse and see Charles, or his Mom. I guarantee they will have the exact item, or close to it (with/same or better quality) at half the price. They have most samples on the floor, or in a catalog. I like instant gratification so the 6-8 week lead time thing sort of disappointed me. I have placed 3 orders with them, the first 2 came in within 4 weeks, the other in 2 weeks. They don't charge for shipping. Just take a $10 bill with you when you pick your mdse up at a warehouse on the corner of 43rd and Shepherd, or I think they even do home delivery now. (The guys at the warehouse even load it in your car for you) Don't let the exterior /interior of Chic scare you.. I wasn't there for the atmosphere, I wanted t quality mdse at a savings and that's what I got. Charles and his Mom are great to work with. It's nice to walk in and be called by your first name. I was so pleased with my Chic Warehouse experience. I knew very little about furniture and bedding and found Charles and Ruth Ann to be full of information --- and very honest. They were more interested in being sure I was happy with my purchase than in just making a sale. And I have been very happy. I know I will return to Chic Warehouse any time I have a furniture purchase in my future and I do recommend them to my family and friends. The place is pretty small but they have nice furniture. I went there after reading all the reviews. The staff were pretty helpful. Anyway, I've ordered a table in middle of September from them.They told me it would take 6-8 weeks. Ok, I can live with it( I thought). Well, it is beggining of December and I just got my table. It certainly took longer than 8 weeks. The chairs? ( I've ordered 8 of them $200/piece) They still haven't arrived. The guy told me middle of December( 2 weeks ago), now it looks like middle of February. Do the math. 5 months for 8 chairs. They can build a house in 5 months-but cannot make 8 chairs? I was visiting my daughter in Humble, TX, and she took me to Chic Warehouse because she was ordering a new couch. I was so impressed by the variety of options and the GREAT prices that I ended up ordering some furniture, too. I think the best part was the staff. They were so helpful and friendly, and I just felt so comfortable, not like at those other stores where you have to keep saying ""I'm just looking."" I even called them back a few days later to ask a question, and they immediately remembered me and my order. It's nice to know customer service is still a priority to some people. I went to Chic Warehouse on the recommendation of several of my friends who have all raved about the place. It was even better than I expected! The selection was great, and I loved the staff. They were helpful and patient and really helped me make a great choice. I recommend this store whenever I hear someone talking about getting new furniture--it's a great find!! We recieved a piece of furniture that came with the wrong color. I have called the owner three times now, and he keeps saying he's working on fixing the problem. Well it has been 4 months now since I recieved my furniture and the problem has not been fixed. No concept of customer service or satisfaction. Honestly, we would have kept coming to this store for the rest of our lives. But apparently the owner is willing give up $10,000 in future sales, just so he doesn't have to bother fixing one problem. This store is a joke. Do NOT purchase from them How can people stay in business in the new era of internet information world? They only let you purchase stuff. After that, no return, no credit, even if the merchandize was not the right color as expected, no customer service. VERY VERY unpleasant to deal with when it comes to post sales service!!!!! 5-6 weeks after they took your money and you finally get to pick up and discover the ""unsatisfactory"" piece. Now they are THROUGH with you, and they don't want to hear anything else unless you want to buy some more stuff. Yes, they might be cheaper than Pottery Barn, or Crate and Barrel, but hey guys..... those stores charge a premium for a reason. People, look elseware,!!! eg. Eurway furniture, Gallery now has a contemporary section (not that they are the greatest but at least you get SOME service), Kinetec (a modern furniture on Harwin), the DUMP, Danish Inspiration on Fondren, tons of others contemporary furniture stores on fondren, Anyway, I just cannot get over how bad we got treated with a problem that is NOT our fault, and seller completely refuse to take any responsibility. more

Chic warehouse has no knowledge of customer satisfaction, or they just don't think it is important. We recently shopped there and decided to order a piece of their furniture. (Even though it takes 6 weeks waiting time, and a peculiar $ 10 ""pick up"" service fee.) 2 days later, we discovered the IDENTICAL piece of funrniture for significantly less amount of money (40% cheaper!) , we decided to call and notify them and discussed a resolution. I understand being in business is to make money and nobody can be the cheapest on everything. But when a customer TALKED to you about a competitor with a much cheaper price, you do not tell them ""tough luck"". Well, that's basically what they told us. My husband and I recently sold our loft Downtown - Fully Furnished... leaving us with only our clothing and our cat! I sold custom furniture for 3 years before we moved to Houston and I have a pretty good knowledge of what furniture stores are selling, prices etc. I am so glad we stopped in Chic Warehouse!!! To my excitement I recognized some of the vendors and I knew that the quality was going to be great. Then the 'test' was going to be fabric... and I was told that we could pick from a huge selection! This is an Interior Decorators dream! Not only had I just seen the same sectional sofa at another store ,but it was much less at Chic warehouse - with more fabric choices and the same great quality! And we got it in a sleeper! Actually, with Chic Warehouse's prices, we were able to comfortably furnish our new house on the same budget as we furnished our loft - and our new house is over 1000 sq ft bigger (2500 sq ft) with 2 more rooms!!! The service was also great!!! Charles was VERY helpful and he explained that by keeping his overhead low they can offer products at a better price. Well, that sounded great to me!!! He has also created a very comfortable and relaxed atomosphere in his store .... and I much prefer to ""sit in a sofa"" to get a feel for the that vendor and then select the configuration or style from the catalog and order. This gives you a much bigger selection than the edited selections most furniture stores are forced to show because of limited vignette / square footage issues that sometimes force you to choose ""what you see is what you get"". Since we purchased for multiple rooms, the icing on the cake was the lead time was NOT the typical 8-12 weeks for custom as it is in most stores.... It was approx 6-8 weeks! This Interior Decorator was very happy with the quality, price, fabric selection, and the lead time. I would definitely recommend this store to everyone! Chic Warehouse has not seen the last of me!!! I was referred to Chic Warehouse by a friend that swore by this place. I was told it normally takes 6 weeks once ordering it but I needed the furniture ASAP since I was moving into a new place and had already sold all my old furniture! So I went everywhere under the sun to look for furniture, I knew what I wanted...but the only places that had it were Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn! And you have to order from them as well and its very pricey. So I finally went and checked out Chic Warehouse and I was so happy I did! The exact same set (even same quality) I was look at purchasing at Pottery Barn was half the price!!!!! I was going to pay $3000 more!!! I know right then and there that it was worth the wait to get the furniture that I loved! The staff at Chic Warehouse was so sweet, helpful and inviting! I will recommend this place to everyone I know..... more

What a joke!, what a dissapointment!!!, after looking for the perfect chairs for a while when I saw the add about Chick Warehouse I thought I had found the perfect place for them, only to find out that not only the store is not big at all and does not have alot of furniture, but when I did find the perfect chairs I was dissapointed to find out that they were only $15.00 cheaper than what I had found them at chairs and tables off of Richmond Street in Houston!!! I asked them if they would give a lower price since they advertise themselves as having furniture up to 50% off of retail but their answer was no!, you can buy them somewhere else!!! I hope this people can manage to stay in business being sooo rude to their clientele!!! good luck!!! I will definitely not recommend this store to anyone!!! Pros: Easy to find! Cons: Prices were not lower as advertised! Very rude customer service! Not convenient store hours! more

We have furnished our living room and den. Great furniture, low prices and knowledgable and helpful staff. We have ordered our new bedroom suite and can't wait. Pros: Quality furniture, great prices, super folks Cons: If you need a fancy name store you are better off elsewhere more

My client went in to order a sofa with me and 12hrs. later ,before the order was placed, she cancelled for one another store that she and her husband really loved. When she went in to canel in person and even willing to take a credit for other merchadise she needs, she was told to never come back, they are too busy to deal with people like that! more

Chic Warehouse has better prices than Crate & Barrel & Restoration Hardware. My experience with Chic Warehouse was wonderful. I have referred all my friends and clients to them. more
