Inhumane and ineffective 9/2/2010

y problem with this company is twofold. First: I was not told over the phone that eliminating carpet beetles would require more than one spray. I got differing information from 3 employees. In reality, it took me three sprays (and I would up buying the spray off the internet and doing the 3rd spray myself). The information about how many sprays is mportant information to have when deciding what to pay for a service. Cascade did come out a second time for free after 90 days, when the beetles were still around. However, the problem still did not go away and I did not want to pay $1,000+ to manage the problem, which is what you would be charged for a persistant problem under their annual maintenance contract. FYI, it is easy and much cheaper to buy carpet beetle spray off the internet and do it yourself! $40 vs. $300+ for one spray! To Cascade's credit, they did come do a second spray for free, but I needed a third. Second, I was shocked that they engage in the use of glue mouse traps. Mice (and other animals such as kittens) become trapped in the glue and slowly starve to death. They have been found dead with their limbs gnawed off. Most large chains refuse to sell them (Safeway, Albertsons) and Australia has banned them. Yet Cascade claims to be "Humane and Green Pest Control." That is an outright lie. If you use this company, do not allow them to place glue traps in your home. Preferredly, send them a message about the inhumane use of glue traps by using another business more

Shame on you!!! 5/19/2010

These folk claim to be green and care for the environment. But use pest control devices that kill rather than humanely trap the animals and release them. You cant spend a measly few dollars on the humane traps. Shame on you!!! more

I have my house back! 3/29/2010

I wanted to take a moment to provide some feedback about Alex Boddie. He is a Superstar! Not only did he get my pest issue immediately contained but he provided top-notch customer service. Alex came to my house twice this week; first to identify/block where pests were getting in and then to provide decontamination service. He was knowledgeable and thorough in his work methods which has resulted in me feeling like I have my house "back" again. Even more importantly, he was timely, courteous, and professional. If any of my friends need this kind of service, I will direct them your way and Alex is the reason why. He is a true asset to your company. Sincerely, Marianne F more

Incredible customer service 3/25/2010

I recently received a letter from Cascade explaining that Mike McDonald (our technician) was retiring. I want to offer my gratitude & appreciation for such a wonderful person. He always called us to confirm his appointment date & made sure to update us if there were any changes in the schedule. While onsite, Mr. McDonald would come inside & notify us that he was onsite to spray—which was always wonderful because no other vendor made us aware and it can be unnerving to not know who is around the building. Mr. McDonald never disturbed our business setting (as most vendors do) and was always professional. In this day and age of employment upheaval, Mr. McDonald’s work ethics shined and he will be truly missed. Please pass along our thanks for a job well done! more

Don't have the tools 12/3/2009

I have a rodent problem. My year with Terminix only made it worse. For a year all they did was collect money. Bob from Cascade was a blessing. He was through and knowledgeable. Unfortunately after the first visit - I never saw Bob again. Instead I got the Terminix treatment. Each visit was ended abruptly with "Sorry - don't have the proper tools to do this - be back in two weeks" During the two weeks, the problem multiplied, and multiplied. It took several phone calls to get the tech back and then it was another excuse and another delay. Meanwhile.....multiply...multiply. I have replaced all my kitchen appliances because the rodents ate the wiring and what steps were taken to close entry points were done by the installers. Now I'm told that I'm just a chronic complainer because, "Honestly, I haven't seen a rat yet." Of course you haven't - you don't have the tools." more

Cascade Pest control 10/31/2008

Beware! Extremely unhappy with both the quality of work from this company, as well as what they assessed the problem to be. Additionally, I very dissatisfied with the owners total lack of response to my concerns. He told me he would get back to me and didn't, on two occasions. My realtor warned me against using them, encouraging me to use a different local company instead. I wish I had. more

Cascade Pest Control 9/20/2005

After reading a positive review here, I called Cascade Pest Control to deal with a hive of yellow jackets in my attic. Cascade Pest Control was indeed friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I appreciated that they were willing to work around my schedule and set the appointment for 5pm. The actual visit was quick. The exterminator investigated the hive, sprayed one kind of poison along the eves of the roof, and then injected another kind of poison straight up into the hive through my ceiling. I was concerned about leaving large holes in the ceiling but this was not a problem. The holes were very small and the exterminator sealed them up after he was done. The exterminator patiently answered all of my questions and took care of the problem. No more yellow jackets in the attic. more

Knowledgeable and Helpful Exterminators 4/23/2005

Although I've only dealt with Cascade Pest Control over yellowjackets in the past, I can say that they seem so very knowledgeable and helpful both in person and in the information they provide on their website (about a variety of pests, including carpenter ants) that they would be the first ones I'd turn to for any sort of infestation. When we first moved into our home, we had recurring issues with yellowjackets. We hired one exterminator who was good but then when the yellowjackets came back again the following year, I couldn't remember who we'd hired the first time so we brought in Cascade Pest Control. This guy was also very good and got rid of the wasps very effectively. On top of that, they offered a guarantee that if we had another infestation that season, they'd come back and take care of it for free. What made him great in my mind was that when we had to have him back again the following year, he not only got rid of the infestation but he pointed out all the open spots around the outside of the house where the wasps were finding to get in and nest. He suggested that if we caulked all those up, he wouldn't have to come back out again the next year as well. We did and haven't needed to hire them since. At every stage, he explained what he was doing and why and what I should look for over the course of the following weeks to ensure that the infestation really had been eradicated. I like someone who will take care of the things that I want or need to have someone else do but will still take the time to keep me informed so that I don't feel left in the dark about the process. In the case of recurring carpenter ant infestations, it sounds like (from the CPC website) understanding where the REAL nest is located is the key to fully eradicating these pests. If past performance with understanding the nuances of behavior of other sorts of pests is any indicator, I'd say these guys should be pretty good in dealing with any types of unwanted critters they set out to control and are worth a call. more
