unbelievable food. It's small and you'll have to wait, but the service and food just can't be beat. Many traditional dishes you won't see at other vietnamese restaurants.
everything's uber fresh.

Takohachi is the real deal. There's a reason all the japanese exchange students head there for a taste of the homeland. Not only is their ramen the best in Seattle by far, everything on the menu from katsu curry to tempura is stellar. Their hours aren't great, the interior is so-so and don't mess with mama-san, but it's amazing food and reasonably priced. And their green tea is sooooooo good.

I called Thomm Coble at Windows And More and he replaced the window in our front door for a reasonable price and showed up on time and cleaned up.
He's one of those dying breeds that has been in the window repair business for many years and can repair old old windows and even stained glass.
(and installs new windows of course)
he's definitely worth a call to come out and give you a bid.
we'd use him again.
thanks Thomm!

We recently needed to have soil tests done and contacted 3 geotechnical firms for bids. Earth Consulting Inc was not the cheapest, but they were well worth the cost and even came in UNDER budget. Very professional, on time, clear/concise proposal, thorough report and timely service.
Steve Scharf was the Sr Geotech on the job and we'd highly recommend him.
if you need a geotech, go no further than Earth Consulting.

Dave from Cascade Pest Control came out to our house and did a great job explaining how he'd eliminate our ant problem. They came out twice and then a third time (no extra charge) and after a month.......Voila! no more ants!
they were very responsive, professional and were willing to come back and do whatever was needed to get the job done.

ok folks....yes....i'm on a roll....(and it's sat night....allllllllrighty then)
so we went to Harvest Vine the other week to check out the buzz. we (2) got seated right away up at the bar around 7pm and we got in just before the rush which was perfecto. It's a very cool/small space and you can see most of the dishes being cooked up right in front of you.
The dishes are smaller tapas style as you'd imagine. we started with the meat plate (some from salumi) and olives which were great.
we ordered 2 other dishes (pork and mushrooms) and had 2-3 glasses of vino.
overall the tapas were more northwestern influenced as opposed to traditional spanish tapas. We got out of there for $100 which surprised me as we really didn't drink very much and had 4 dishes....(note: they don't even have sangria)
So for that i'd have to rank this below Tangos on the "value" ratio. we haven't found too many tapas places in seattle, so we're still looking for a 'go to'.
if you're in SF and love tapas, be sure to hit "Zarzuela" on Russian Hill as this is (so far for me) "The Standard" in what traditional tapas should be mixed with the right vibe and good sangria. And it's hard to get out of there for more than $25/person and you'll be full and buzzed:)
but if you're in that neighborhood, have 2-4 folks and a little extra $ to burn it's a cool little spot to hit.
adiós!

well folks, we're very fortunate indeed to have Fonte Coffee Roasters (http://www.fontecoffee.com/) here in Seattle. Just try their "Bin 16" bean and it'll all be over. Yes it's a little expensive at $17/lb (but nothing like some of the ridiculously priced stuff at Victrola)........it truly is an unbeliveable roast.
and if you can, order it and go pick it up at their office/roastery down in SODO for 'uber' freshness.............
sooner or later i'm going to give their "Kona" a try but it's always out......that is going to be a treat.
please don't abuse Fonte and hog all the "Bin 16" damnit!!!! remember where you got your info and leave at least a little more me. Please?
you now owe me one.
BEVIAMO!
