I didn't know a Dr. Office could be so dirty and nasty. The scruffy dingy walls need painting, the ceiling is coming down and water stained, old out dated equipment takes up spa...

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/14/2014

I love Dr Carrolll!!!!!!I have been to plush doctor's office and came out empty, no communication, hurry through the visit, but thanks to Dr Carroll she is understanding, funny, down to earth and that is what I like. Love you much Doc. Mrs. V. Bell more

My experience with Dr. Carroll 10/19/2010

I was referred to Dr. Carroll by one of my cousins, so I had Dr. Carroll as my OB/Gyn in 2006 and 2008. I think she's a very caring Dr., actually I've waited no longer than 30 minutes to see her,and I had Medicaid. When my BP spiked during my pregnancy especially with my first child, we first tried prescription medications, when that didn't work, she had me admitted to hospital stay and bed rest because she was concern for both me and my unborn daughter. I wouldn't blame her for the wait time, because she's not always the one that sets up appointments, even if she said I want to see you on such and such dates, it's the front desk staff that sets appts and sometimes they don't communicate on who's to be seen without having to wait. Heck, when I was going to my OB/Gyn visits to Ben Taub Hospital, I was waiting almost a half a day, before someone finally sees me and I never knew who was my main Dr., at the time. As for Dr. Carroll, she's always on call when there's a mom who goes into labor unexpectedly, so even if you're promised to see her, just prepare to see a staff nurse. Now, as for her place of business (practice), it does look ""ran-down"" or as I would put it ""ghetto"". The equipment is out-dated, as a matter of fact, when I went in for an U/S, the tech insist that I was having another girl, but when came time to deliver, I had a son (my 2nd child). My daughter (firstborn), I had U/S done at Hermann Hospital and the equipment was up to date and the tech was a little more thorough. Back to Dr. Carroll's business, there were files piling up in the front office area, the waiting area was too small and cramped (there was hardly any space for the patient's child(ren), sometimes the patient's spouse/significant other and their children would end up waiting in their vehicles or outside), bu overall if I was to ever become pregnant, again, I would pick Dr. Carroll, again. Pros: Dr. Carroll is a caring person, convenient location. Cons: Her office needs a huge makeover and the equipment needs to be up-to-date. more

Nasty & Dirty Office 7/29/2008

I didn't know a Dr. Office could be so dirty and nasty. The scruffy dingy walls need painting, the ceiling is coming down and water stained, old out dated equipment takes up space in the ultrasound room, the furniture is scary to say the least( take your own Clorox wipes), the lab room is sooo dirty that a vet's lab room is cleaner and less cluttered, the exam room is decorated with worn-out dirty furniture from the 70's (looks like she picked it up from a garage sale after the sale was over... you know the stuff that didn't sell and gets left crib side.) And last but not least the lighting in the exam room is special effects because it turns off and on by itself. While sitting in the darkness, count yourself lucky if the aid doesn't turn on the exam light and point it straight in your face (I think the room doubles as an interrogation room). What does this say to me as a patient?? To me it says that she is dirty!! If she doesn't even care for her office (because it represents her, after all it's a private practice), then when it's time for delivery will she care about being clean and using sterile techniques at the time of delivery. This doctor's office is scary and it's a real shame that she doesn't do anything to maintain a clean and neat office. After all, the basic thing that is drilled into your head as a health caregiver at any level is to be clean, clean, and clean. (ie...washing hands, sterilzing equipment... so on.) Having an office that tends to Medicaid patients is not a reason to slack off on a clean and tidy place. Pros: Off 288 by Med Center Cons: long wait, dirty office, no room in waiting room for anyone other than the pt more
