There was a time when i didn't know what real pizza was, and then i found Cameli's. Pizza is a pretty broad category, anything with crust, sauce, and cheese qualifies, but its ea...

Alright, I've figured out by now that Atlanta is not a good town for pizza, but I figured there ought to be at least one or two good pizza joints, right? Think again! Cameli's s...

What a joke 12/4/2002

Somebody considered this the best pizza anywhere. What a joke. This is a fair, at best, neighborhood pizza place with overlt greasy pizza that in my case was somewhat overcooked. Don't waste your time. more

Yo! 9/24/2002

Love it-- Almost Yankee pizza! I think the best thing there is just the regular cheese pizza w/ basil-- so good you don't want to water it down with anything else. Only problem is that with thin crust, I can eat half a large. This blows away every popular pizza joint in town. This should replace every starbucks, and market Pizza in a Cup... Pros: Real Pizza more

Miss it and you've missed it 9/16/2002

The best food for the money we've found We get to Atlanta a couple of times a year and never go there without eating at Cameli's. The Calzones are my favorite and they give me dining pleasure beyond compare. Pros: Generous portions, Great salads, Comfortable more

Bellisimo! 9/4/2002

I was quite impressed with the flavor and texture of the pizza crust. It was very much like the flavor of the pizza crust in Tuscany I would highly recommend the white pizza. It has delicious cheeses and has a flavorful combination of ingredients. Very good comfort food. Pros: Not crowded, Cheerful staff, Many toppings offered Cons: Inadequate parking more

Pax Americana and Monster slice 8/26/2002

I used to live in Atlanta and every Time I return for a visit,I have to get my Cameli Fix!!!!!!It is worth the 136 mile drive. Pros: Monster slice, Pax americana Cons: Better Parking more

Best pizza in Atlanta! 8/13/2002

This pizza joint has the best thin crust pies and slices in the whole city. Homemade sauces and fresh toppings are all excellent and fresh. You can tell a real Italian owns this place. These people could sell their pizza in NYC and Chicago and more than stand up to the competition! more

Embarasses every other Pizza Place 7/25/2002

best pizza in atlanta!! their pizza is 4362789462384 times better than Mellow Mushroom's - no contest! The sauce is truly flavorful and garlicky (unlike Mellow Mushroom's or Fellini's, which has almost no taste to it) and the crust is delicious. Their sandwiches are also amazing...nothing bad about this place... it's cheap too. Pros: cheap, comfortable, good parking more

inconsistency 7/15/2002

Ten times or so gives one a feeling for a place, and INCONSISTENCY is the word for Cameli's. I have been very very pleased and very very very displeased. Most recently we ordered a large thin pizza. When we arrived to pick it up, it was cold. The clerk refused to warm it up ...""we're too busy."" When we ordered (early on Sunday evening) we were told they were OUT of SAUSAGE. We ordered peeperoni instead, and oh my gosh there musta been three pieces on the large pizza. The double cheese was single at best. Out of the last 4 visits, one was excellent and 3 were big disappoinments. The risks are too great. We won't be back. Cons: inconsistency, runs out of ingredien more

Love the thin crust 7/12/2002

I'm a big fan of this pizza -- the crust is crispy thin and the toppings aren't overwhelming or the pies soggy. However, pies don't transport particularly well. Best to enjoy them right there. Staff could be a little more careful -- I've been given the wrong order before. Tasty feta and artichokes; skip the olives unless you want to pit them yourself. Pros: crispy crust more

Good pizza, think again! 7/12/2002

Alright, I've figured out by now that Atlanta is not a good town for pizza, but I figured there ought to be at least one or two good pizza joints, right? Think again! Cameli's sauce was too sour, the crust not quite right, and overall disappointing. The side salad was good, at least. Pros: good parking, good salads Cons: sauce too tart, bland, crust too dry more

MMMMMM 5/25/2002
