Cafe Pacific was recommended to us by a friend. The reviews online sounded great so I felt confident making a reservation. One review recommended requesting seating by the window to enjoy a view of the fountain outside. I requested window seats while making my reservation and the woman on the other end said she would arrange it. When we got to the restaurant and mentioned that we had requested the window, however, our hostess shortly replied, "" if one becomes available"". I was taken aback by her lack of customer service (she should have said something akin to ""sorry for the inconvenience, but we can only provide those seats on a first come, first serve basis"". Surmising that a miscommunication had occurred, my husband stayed back to explain that we had specifically requested the seats while making the reservation. My husband also asked to speak to the manager who very rudely and flatly replied, ""we can only give you that table if it becomes available"" and walked away. This put a damper on our moods for sure. After receiving such poor treatment, we should have just walked out but we were joined by our in-laws who had just flown in from Baltimore. Needless-to-say, a window seat did not become available to us so we sat in the middle of the restaurant. My husband did notice, however, that the manager appeared very familiar with those he did seat by the window. I could be wrong, but it appeared that the reason he was so resistant to honoring our request was because he saves window seats to schmooze VIP's. There's really no point in mentioning the food because poor service has a way of leaving a bad taste in your mouth, regardless. That said, we did enjoy our waiter; he was a complete professional. Cafe Pacific is definitely upscale and pricey, a place we would typically reserve for special occasions. Think twice before you reserve a special night at this restaurant because the treatment you receive may leave you feeling insignificant and unimportant.
Pros: wait staff, food
Cons: rude manager, hostess
