Best

Just had the best time at Caffe Nonna's in Sylvan Park. A friend requested eating at an Italian restaurant for her birthday, and after a thorough search, I decided that Caffe Non...

6 of us went to dinner at Nonna for a birthday celebration. It has been 3 years since I was last there and used to love the place. The restaurant was not packed, but all tables...

Horrible Experience At Cafe Nona 8/7/2005

One of my girlfriends and I decided to have dinner at Cafe Nona, so we made reservations and went to dinner that same evening. From the moment we got there the wait staff was rushed with us. We ordered appetizers, wine and dinner. After our dinner plates were taken away and we were handed our check, the manager came up to us and ask us if we had a nice dinner and if he could get us anything else. We said that we were fine, so he then said well if you would just pay your bill we would appreciate it because we need your table. In other words he was asking us to leave. We could not believe it! I will never go back there again. more

Delightful 7/4/2003

The surroundings are really cute and you feel as though it's off the beaten track, although it's always packed and only 5 minutes from West End. The food is good; the desserts are incredible. I have always found the service to be amazing (went there 10 minutes before closing, one of 2 diners in the place, received excellent service and no rushing). Prices are moderate. Reservations are usually a must. Pros: food, atmosphere, service Cons: lots of people, small tables more

Restaurant is cozy and the food is excellent. Recommend making a reservation. Service, while friendly, was somewhat slow. Pros: intimate, friendly Cons: service a little slow more

All-time favorite place 1/21/2003

By far, this is our favorite place to eat in Nashville. It has REAL Italian, not toned down like Olive Garden, etc. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. It is a wonderful place for lunch, a date, really anytime! Pros: great atmoshpere, wonderful food, excellent service Cons: parking more

delicious 12/12/2002

the seafood angelina is one of the best dishes i've ever eaten. reservations are almost a must due to the small seating capacity. it's usually crowded. however, the food truly makes for a wonderful dining experience. Pros: authenic italian Cons: too small more

In any other city, this would be just OK 11/26/2002

Oh, if only Nashville had real restaurants like other cities with a million people...This is a cute place with reasonable food. I've eaten there 4 times. If you are looking for a night out in a fun place with a somewhat happening atmosphere, this will do the trick. If you are looking for Italian food that matches the promise of the fun space in which it is served, you will be moderately disappointed. Put another way, this restaurant would not survive 6 months in Chicago, Boston, Austin or any city where truly good Italian eateries exist. For Nashville, however, it's about as acceptable as it gets. Pros: Fun atmosphere Cons: Loud more

Good start, fast slide 11/8/2002

After dining at Cafe Nonna over the past two years (well over ten times), the luster has worn off. On my most recent dinner trip my reservation (placed on Monday for Friday) was forgotten, resulting in a 25 minute wait for a table. The table was close to the door making for a very cool meal. My fiancee had to wear her coat throughout the dinner. My entree was at room temperature. When my fiancee asked for coffee to warm her, she was told the coffee machine was broken. Meal served very slow. Pros: Food still great, Good wine list, Neighborhood feel Cons: Service poor/slow, Loud-hard to talk, Disorganized staff more

Step into Italy!! 10/31/2002

After living in Italy, it has been so comforting to be able to dine at Caffe Nonna! Memories of the little inns of Tuscany come rushing back! The ambiance is just like Europe, the food is the freshest, and talk about flavors! For a remarkable Italian dining experience, you must try this place. Pros: Ambiance, Original Menu, Special treatment Cons: Need reservations more

If you like garlic 7/25/2002

If you like garlic, this is the place for you. Not a great first date place, but the food is awesome. The restaurant is tiny and it gives off a homey feel. more

We eased into this nice little place Friday night about 630pm and was immediately seated on the patio - which is where we wanted. This place was awesome - Try the Pinot Grigio -very nice , the pizza Margherita was great. The four of us enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back Pros: food, wine Cons: seating more
