Bad Service 4/28/2007

There was an old lady when I went to for dinner, I assume she is the owner, she treated me very disrespectful. She was in a very bad mood and kept screaming to her employees. Employees should be treated with respect and clients with admiration but this old lady treats both like dirt. She was rude and should not be in contact with clientele or at least she should learn some manners. more

Okay place 4/25/2007

I come here off and on but the people just wave you to whatever table is available and there is no seating plan at all. The lady sitting at the table and I guess she is the manager walked over to me to say just sit wherever, I guess that is okay if I was not planning on having a seated meal and being served. The tabouleh is very good here and the food is usually fresh , but the service leaves something to be desired. Pros: Food good Cons: Bad seating arrangements more

There is better out there 4/20/2007

The food was good but one of the dishes was overcooked. We returned it and the management stated that it was not overcooked (they said that is how they make that dish, but he never tried the dish we had but just said this is how we make it). We ate that dish there before and it wasn't the same. We offered to pay for the rest of our meal, but the management stated that we either pay the whole meal (i.e. it doesn't matter what customers taste basically, I guess) or don't pay at all. The management would not adjust the item on the bill for that one dish (which from my point of view doesn't make sense..don't they want people to have a good meal and enjoy it, then come back ?) The mother/owner came and said we returned it after we were full (which was really rude by the way. Don't people take food home when it isn't overcooked and eat it then ?). We wanted to pay for the rest of our meal but found these people completely inflexible (why wouldn't you admit that maybe something was overcooked ? It has been known to happen in the world of cooking), so we left and do not intend on returning. I think if you are a customer you really don't want to go to a place that has no people skills, does not really care about customers, is rude to you and refuses to admit that different people have different tastes. I have to say that since Houston offers so many choices in mediteranean food you are better off going somewhere else if you want to have a pleasant dining experience. Pros: I am not going back :) Cons: People running it act like they can't be wrong more

My favorite 7/21/2005

I had always wanted to try middle eastern food, and had no idea what it was like. My first middle-eastern food experiences stemmed from Ephesus Anatolian (across the street) well, Ephesus closed down and the next place on my agenda to try was Cafe Lili. This place is so clean, and sophisticated. My mom's taken her friends, and I've even taken my boyfriend. The pita bread and olive oil, sea-salt, and pepper are a must have (and theyre free). I recommend the shish-kabobs in both chicken and beef, of you have about 25.00 to spare, theyre yours. I guarantee you one thing: You will never, have meat as tender and perfect as their chicken and beef steak. The white rice with little brown noodles are also to die for. They even serve Snapple, how cool is that?! Pros: Great Food, Beef, Chicken Cons: Service isnt great, They have sports on more

Stop reading and go! 7/9/2004

This place has the best Middle Eastern food I've had. Simple yet authentic, you won't be eating monkey brains but devouring well made and ample servings of great food. Highly recommend the deserts: Tres Leches and rice pudding. The family that runs the restaurant are charming and considerate. Pros: Food quality, spacious seating more

  • In Short
Though there's nothing fancy about the dining room at Café Lili, the exotic flavors, friendly service and hearty portions give diners the feeling that they're eating somewhere special. Meals begin with a shot of Turkish coffee, which prepares diners for what's to come. Appetizers include hummus, tabouleh, baba ghanoush, falafel and spinach pie. For the main course, try the meat sandwiches or any of the varied kabobs, including beef, chicken and kafta.
