AWESOME KARAOKE and GREAT BANDS!!!!! 1/25/2009

Not only does this place have some really great musical acts come through, but it has terrific bartenders, servers and staff, as well as the #2 rated Karaoke in the entire Twin Cities (Many think it's #1)! If you like your Wednesday nights out, this is the place to go! Ladies night where the ladies drink free from 9-11 with a $3 cover. Guys get a free drink with cover, you can watch the band, shoot pool, play darts, bowl, or get your groove on in Bogart's, or head to the Back Alley Tavern for some awesome Karaoke! The Back Alley has 2 for 1 drink prices all night long. They also have an outdoor patio, bowling alley, and good food. Check out acts like Hairball, Johnny Holmes, The Big City Band, CBO, G.B. Leighton, and MANY more!! Bands play Wed-Sat, and Karaoke is Sun, Wed and Fri from 8:30-1:00 am. Sunday nights is becoming really popular and FUN in the Back Alley with the karaoke. Listen to some of the best singers in town come out and do their thing!! Great song selection, great sound system and great fun! Pros: One of the best Karaoke Shows in the Twin Cities... if not THE best... good drink specials, awesome bands, something for everyone! Cons: none that I could see! more

URBAN MYTH Band at Bogarts is a fabulous and talented cover band! Fun night of entertainment! 11/12/2007

I have just discovered this fun and upbeat cover band called Urban Myth.. who have been gracing Bogarts occasionally. They are a yet undiscovered talent...but once you experience them you will be back for more. They play songs from every era and the Blonde Stacy K who fronts the band is amazing! Check them out for sure! Bogarts is a blast! Pros: Fun and upbeat! more

Something for everyone 6/28/2007

I am new to the area and single. I came across Bogarts after someone suggested I try it. I am glad I did. I walked into the Back Alley Taveren on a Monday night and told the bartender, "I'm new to the area, I came to hear some music." After getting my beer she then got me a Cities Pages paper and showed me how to find places and events that might interest me; talk about going out of her way . . . Mondays are my favorite. It's acoustic night. They have different acts, but don't miss Love Songs for Angry Men, they're beyond great!!!!! I have gone on Wednesdays, Ladies Night. If you pay your $3.00 cover and your a lady you can drink for free from 9 to 11pm; my only suggestion is skip the well drinks and have bottle beers, a much better deal. The bands on Wednesdays are pretty good and everyone seems to have a good time. I have eaten some of their food and it's what you'd expect in a bowling alley. I think Bogarts is a cool place with excellent bartenders, there is one snooty guy, but he's young. You will find a wide variety of music and stuff you want in a bar. See you there!!!! Pros: Ricky is the coolest, sweetest bartender and Love Songs for Angry Men are the best act on Acoustic Night Cons: One young smug bartender who doesn't seem to enjoy his job more

Great Servers and bar staff Fun Bands! 4/23/2007

This is a hidden gem south of the river, don't believe the other idiots opinions, go see for yourself. Wednesdays have a happy hour all day with most drinks being two for one, and ladies drink free from 9-11 with only a 3 dollar cover, guys get a free drink with pd cover, not too bad for a Wednesday. Friday and Saturday there is always a fun band to enjoy. They have great servers and bartenders. It is a safe place not to far from the city. I have always had fun at Bogart's because it isn't your everyday club they believe in great service and making there customers happy. With live bands, pool tables, dart boards and bowling there is fun for everyone! Check it out! Pros: awesome service, good music, fun atmospher Cons: the decore is a little out of style more

Get a buzz 7/17/2003

This place is a great place to see a band. Get your liquid courage up and hit the dance floor, where there are ample numbers of attractive, fun ladies but the guys tend to stand around just watching. Plus, they frequently book the most fun local band (Hairball), so be sure to go and have a great time! Pros: Laid back, Great bands Cons: Low "overhead", Semi-biker bar more

Probably the worst bar i've ever been to 3/7/2003

I had been hearing radio spots for bogarts place for years so finally i decided to go there with a friend of mine from Apple Valley. I imagined the place to be classy with a 1940's decor based on the commercials. How wrong i was. We had to walk through a BOWLING ALLEY to get into this toilet, killing our mood before we even walked in. We got there at 10pm on a Thursday night. It was DEAD. I mean we were the ONLY people there. The place looked like a bad version of champps or applebees or some suburban dump like that. It had nothing to do with Humphry Bogart or the 40's except for the name and a picture of Bogart on the wall. My advice to you - avoid this place like the plague. Pros: NONE Cons: Dead, Boring more

  • In Short
No one ever has said that the Dakota County suburb of Apple Valley is a hopping hotbed of night life, but there are a few places of interest where its burgeoning population can go wild and dance. Bogart's is among the most popular spots, with a music schedule featuring such local bar-rock stalwarts as G.B. Leighton and Tim Mahoney. Pizza and burgers can be found in the Main Street Grill, while the Back Alley Tavern, with a Prohibition-era theme, offers trivia and karaoke.
