I have mixed feelings about this place. About two years ago now I was introduced to this place after the girl I usually went to moved down South, so when she recommended this place I figured it must be good. I always get my hair relaxed, and the first time I went it I had a very nice women do my hair and everything went fine. Since then however I have had very mixed results, the worst being that I called to make an appointment, going in the next day and the women refusing to do my hair because they were too tired. I had to come back the next day to wake a women from her nap to do my hair, then she burned my scalp... Since then I have found another place to do my relaxing treatments. HOWEVER today I really wanted to try something new, and get my hair braided. They were the only place I could think of so I gave it a shot. It really was my best experience yet, the women I think Nay (I could very well be wrong) did a fantastic job at a great price- very talented. I will really say it all depends who does your hair ( prefer the older women because they have more patience, but everyone knows what they are doing), and what day and time it is. I feel they work best during the week with less people coming in and out Bottom line; I'm not thrilled going into the place but they have the best price, and at the end of they have done great work on me, and from what I've seen nothing leaves looking half down more

went to get my hair cut, told the girl what i wanted showed her a picture and every thing she said that we can do our own look and that she wasa great hair dresser. she cut my hair looks like she took a bowl and put it on top of my head and cut around the bowl did not blend in the cut my head was chopped up and looked a HOT MESS then she tried to curl my hair and had me looking like a 80 year old sheep. my hair was horrible when i got home my kids was like what happen to your head even my 3 year old daughter laughed at me and said that i looked like a boy, what does that say about my cut more

The women in this place are very rude and will try to take advantage of you and over charge you, i was not treated with respect. she also sold me hair that was suppose to be "" good quality "" human hair a few days later it wasnt the same it kept knotting and drying up it was horrible i will never go here again... i had never got sowed in extentions before and i come to find out i was very over charged. i heard blessing was the best in this place but shes horrible,, she had never seen me a day before in her life and i told her i wasnt sure to buy straight or curly hair because my hair is naturally curly (my hair was flat ironed straight the day i went there ) she really argued with me that i do not have curly hair even after i told her i had straightend it she took it as far spraying a piece of my hair with water to see if it curled and had the stupidy to say look see your hair is straight just because it did not curl that very second about a minute later she ignorant dum woman notices my hair had curled and finally shutup... this place is a joke i usually leave salons in a very good and relaxed mood but i left this place utterly aggrevated. i do not want to give this place a star at all but it doesnt allow you to. more

the people working there are very rude and seemed upset to even do my hair all i wanted was some braids the parts on the braids were so uneven and crooked...they didnt use gel or any wax or any product to braid my hair when they were done they looked like braids they have been wore for 2weeks already very inexperienced stylist working there it was so awful and overpriced i was so upset with the out come i will never return and suggest no one to ever go there to get braids i have been gettin my hair braided for the past 5 years and this is by far the worst braids i have ever had worst experience being there to never again will i ever spend another dollar there! only resaon i gave them one star is because it was the lowest rating i could give them i would have gave them 0 stars if it was an option more

I've been to BET 6 times, mainly for braids - fixing bad jobs, 2 full installs, and removing braids, as well as for putting in extensions. They are great for the price, if you can over look ALOT. I find it kind of stressful to be in this sort of environment so I've chosen not to really go back, but I'm open to revisiting my decision as time goes by. BRAIDS: BET does some of the best microbraids around. That said, they don't really care if the break off the front of your hair. Very few of the hair dressers actually listen when you tell them what not to do to your hair line. They do tiny braids around the crown, and expect you to come back every week or every other week to get them redone... not happening! Some stylists actually know how to braid larger at the front so you don't end up with large bald spots, where the braids used to be! I have almost totally destroyed my hair line, due to using BET for the past year. Regarding the PRICE: Some of the best prices around for the work. VERY professional braiding job (apart from the hairline destruction thing, which they don't seem to get)... If you don't go through Blessing (the owner), some of the girls will rip you off... They recommend high quality human hair, and it definitely makes a big difference. Particularly in photos. They do probably some of the best braids, better than most Boston braiding salons which will charge you at least $30-$50 more on up). They may charge $130 for small micro braids, where as for the same price in Boston you will get really thick braids poorly performed. However, pretty much everything everyone says on the 1 star reviews is pretty true. SALON EXPERIENCE: Pretty crappy. Bathrooms without soap or paper towel. Bring your own! I think they have either toilet paper or paper towels.... Chaos rules the day, but there are lines of very patient women sitting for hours to get their hair done, regardless of this mess. The owner, has her underage kids working the cash register, and in the beauty store and its pretty strange communicating with at 10 year old about what hair you'd like to look at from behind A TINY HOLE IN BULLET PROOF GLASS. THE WEAVES are pretty good.. id just bring my own heavier duty thread. The tightenings are pretty bad to the extensions as they don't remove the old hair, they just add new hair on top, which makes a huge lumpy mess.Redo the whole head instead of getting it tightened. Much cheaper, but wearing weaves overall is pretty expensive. If you don't spend at least $300 getting it installed, you know its not ideal. They charge about $100 per weave. more

I have been getting my hair done at BET salon for 5 years. Everytime I walk out of BET salon I feel like a millon bucks. Blessing (the owner) does the best weaves. Blessing is very nice and professional. She always find away to squeeze me in even if it is last minute. She also takes her time on my head. I will get my hair done here until I die more

It's not worth your time or effort to go to this salon. I write this on several years of experience. Each time I go it worse than the previous time. Todays visit is the straw that broke the camels back. Made an appointment for 9:30am. I arrived at 9:15am and I was told there were two people ahead of me. How is that two people are ahead of me when I made an appointment. I sat for about fifteen minutes and decided to get up and leave. Apparently they don't have any clue regarding customer service. I will never step foot in this salon again!!! more

I have attended this salon for years. I have to be honest, each and every time I need to go in I am so NOT looking forward to it. The place is super ""ghetto"". Meaning clients and staff are. The place is noisy and people are always waiting- even if you have an appointment you will wait. The staff is very unprofessional- but expect a tip from you. I hardly ever want to give a tip because the atmoshere is so annoying- it makes you want to get up and leave(but your hair is gotta get done)! I must say, if you are fortunate enough to get the owner blessing..yes her name is blessing- you will be treated good enough to NOT MIND RETURNING. Anyone else is a step down. I have been going there for aprroximately4 years or so. The only reason I continue to go- is because of the price. No other salon beats her price. THAT- sadly is the ONLY reason. Great salon if you like to be treated like a SECOND RATE HUMAN BEING. I am not writing this review off of one experience, but THREE! Three different times I've been to this salon with three different stylists, and all three times were bad. The prices are acceptable, but the customer service is horrible. You're paying them to do your hair, and they treat you as if you're a pain in the butt and like they are doing YOU the favor. Pros: Prices Cons: Everything else! more
