bad experience. They forgot the drink we ordered (which happens) and their response was they would deliver it to us tomorrow? Asked if they could just take it off the bill instead and the manager called to say we hadn't been charged though clearly we had. Portions are small, naan is awful, delivery took nearly an hour. Not impressed, will order from someplace else next time. more

They were late. Not a big deal, except after I contacted you guys the delivery guy called me to say that he's "at 1802, and where is your house ?" I said "1809 just drive down" and it still took quite a while for him to get to my place. I waited outside for him, and he called again and asked me where my home was! This time I saw a car driving rather slowly down the road and asked him to keep coming, and helped by telling him to make a left turn when he got to my driveway. Then he parked in my driveway, and sat in his car, and motioned for me to go to him! I think delivery means "delivery to your door" not sitting in my driveway and asking me to go up to his car, and not only that, he didn't even have the courtesy to pick up the bag and pass it to me. I had to reach in and get it off the seat! Will not be ordering from them again! The food was good, so I'll give them 1 star for that. Too bad customer service wasn't. more

Great Food!! Quick delivery more

Editorial review from Citysearch 12/22/2012

I ordered the chicken curry which was very good but I have a problem with the portion size. They should charge $7.99 for the rice and give you the chicken curry for free as little as they give you. it was about a half a cup of curry and 4 cups of rice. Portion size was the same with other entrees except tandoori chicken which was OK. Will not be going back again. more

Awesome food! 11/2/2009

Absolutely delicious Indian cuisine. I've never eaten from the buffet (I see some of the reviews are less-than favorable toward the buffet) but I can tell you that the regular menu is stellar. Everything I've ordered has been excellent. I love the chicken Makhani-simply amazing. Great folks that run this restaurant. I always appreciate businesses that appreciate their clients. Pros: Delivery available! more

BEST Indian in Nashville, or anywhere!!!! Traveled all over the world, and this is my favorite Indian restaurant 9/9/2008

I have eaten Indian in Singapore on banana leaves with my fingers, but Best of India in Nashville is simply the best Indian anywhere (even London or Australia.) Anyone familiar with ""butter chicken"" will relish the Chicken Tikka Masala here as it melts on the tongue and makes almost anyone new to the restaurant just close his/her eyes for a moment and smile. We've tried the vindaloo, the saag (spinach and chicken), the scrumptious somosa appetizers, the jalfreezi, and several vegetarian dishes. Every dining experience is top of the line, and Raj and his family provide customer service like we're dining in the Hermitage Hotel. To top off this, you can leave there with plenty of money for a movie, bowling, or whatever since it's really inexpensive. If you drink wine or beer, you can bring either into the restaurant for NO CORKAGE fee! I must recommend a vino verdhe in the summer with some spicy Indian here (and they take no prisoners with the spice!) My only fear about this review is that I won't be able to find a table once everyone tries it. You'll come back week after week just to try something new, and you will never be disappointed!!! Pros: The food, the staff, the service, the no corkage fees, the new renovation. Cons: It's just a wee bit away from the Vandy area but easy to find. more

Delicious authentic Indian cuisine at an affordable price 4/13/2008

I LOVE the variety of food offered at this neat little place off of Charlotte Pike. Great friendly staff with outstanding customer service, relaxing dining environment and ample seating. The exterior (outside the restaurant) leaves much to be desired, but don't let it fool you from trying it out! \r \r Its is definately one of the few places I always take friends to when they are visiting from out of town, and it never fails to impress any picky palate. The menu is very diverse, the food well prepared and the seasoning and selection of spices used is very authentic! The portions served are very generous as well, so I always end up taking it home. \r \r I have never tried their buffet, though i have seen it. The selection is small, so as previous posters may have mentioned, it may not be the best in town. For a great Indian buffet, I recommend Sitar. \r \r However, for other Indian dishes on their regular dine in/ take out menu, this is GREAT and simply delicious! I like it much more than Sitar's general menu ( not buffet), and I hihgly recommend it to anyone who loves great authentic Indian cuisine.\r \r If you are looking for a decent buffet, go to Sitar. For non-buffet dining, check out this gem of a place in Nashville!\r \r \r \r Pros: Authenic cuisine, great customer service and staff, great selection on regular menu Cons: buffet-> not that impressive more

Very disappointed. 12/27/2007

I went at 1pm on a thursday afternoon and tried the buffet. I was the only person there.\r \r The buffet is very small and overall the food was bland and flavorless. The naan was old and rubbery, the chicken curry was watery and bland. The pakora was decent - but I wouldn't go back.\r \r The service was great, but the food was just not worth returning to. There are so many other great indian places in Nashville. Pros: cheap. Cons: food. more

Poor Consistency, Not enough flavor 7/22/2007

Did I visit at the wrong day and time? I read the previous reviews and headed to this restuarant with high hopes of having Good Indian food. I am from a Texas city that has GREAT food of all types and I have Indian friends who sometimes cook for me, so maybe I am too picky. I had the buffet and I tried plain rice, eggplant, chicken curry, dal, and vegetable pakoras. The eggplant lacked salt. The chicken curry had a very thin consistency. The dal lacked salt and other seasoning. The vegetable pakoras was good and the white rice were OK. There was also a pea and potato dish that lacked flavor and had a very thin consistency. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is used to eating good/great, high quality Indian food. You are better off getting the frozen Indian dinners from the grocery store. You get what you pay for! Pros: Lack of flavor, Not a lot of variety on the buffet Cons: It's cheap more

Best Indian Restaurant in Nashville 6/27/2007

The food was very good, very friendly, prompt and helpful service. The curry was very thick and full of flavor, and it was reasonably priced, probably the least expensive Indian restaurant in Nashville. Make sure you visit at least once when you're in Nashville, you won't be dissapointed! Pros: Great flavor, tasty and reasonably priced. Cons: away from downtown and university area. more

Simply The BEST 1/23/2006
