This high end makeup store will meet some needs. It carries a specific array of brands – Trish McEvoy, NARS, Shiseido and a few others. There are also fragrances and related products lining the walls. The staff is happy to show you the makeup, and also you can sign up for a makeup lesson which costs $75, but then you get to pick that amount in products after. Be careful to check out the staff and pick someone whose makeup you like; a friend of mine got a bad match and was unhappy. I have never bought anything here; it’s not nearly as much fun as Sephora. more

Couture cosmetics and more 8/19/2005

Beauty and Main offers any skincare or cosmetic aficionado the chance to experience pure luxury. Carrying the traditional high end brands of department stores (NARS, Trish McEvoy) as well as hard to find others (Creed), just walking into their Harvard Square location can make anyone feel like a million bucks. Albeit the prices are steep (you pay for the high quality of the products for sure), the sales staff and their knowledge are worth the trip. You may not walk out of there with more than a $25 lip gloss but the trip itself will leave you feeling inspired and with knowledge of a true skin goddess. more

Beauty and Main is a great makeup and beauty care store in Harvard Square. You can find all sorts of hard to find and prestige brands such as Creed, Diptyque, Trish McEvoy, Darphin and much more. They have a great layout- very open and light, and their selection of makeup and creams is laid out well. There are ample sampling opportunities, key when looking for the perfect lipstick shade for a certain outfit, or when checking out the new Fall lines of color. The staff is very professional and well educated, and very open to helping you with questions or concerns. This shop is a great option! more
