The Museum of Fine Arts is a terrific art museum for any art lover. With a vast collection from what seems to be every great decade, geographic area, style and time period, the Museum of Fine Arts offers it all. Though the size of the museum can seem intimidating, it's layout and design are well thought out transporting visitors back in time. The museum offers guided tours that for first time museum goers are a great find. The tours eliminate the vastness of the collection and help visitors navigate and understand the collection. Of particular enjoyment are the museum's collection of European art and American art. Make a day of it by enjoying lunch at the museums cafe and purchasing that special book or poster at the museum's store.

Henry Bear's Park, with locations in Arlington, Cambridge and Brookline, is a child's delight with shelves, baskets and displays of toys, games and books. Parents are just as delighted to find an array of educational and sophisticated toys designed to spark imagination and education. While some toys are your standard finds (toy cars for boys, dolls for girls), many of the items are unlike any you would find in a major toy chain. Many of the locations offer groups and activities for children, new mothers and teenagers. It is a great place to find that special gift for expecting parents, an age appropriate toy for a child's birthday or even to congratulate that winning science project. With a sense of whimsy, this toy store is a delight for all ages.

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is a museum to delight all the senses. Nestled behind the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, down the street from Fenway Park and around the corner from the world renowned Longwood Medical Area, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum offers a gateway back into time through art, furniture and collectibles. The museum is housed in Isabella Stewart Gardner's former residence and many of the pieces still remain in the same place they stood nearly a hundred years ago. Visitors delight in the beautifully cultivated indoor garden while making their way up the flights of stairs to the upper galleries. Every aspect of the building is a work of art, from the stone entryways to the carved stairway banisters to the upholstered chairs. The gallery is most notably known for a famous art heist in 1990. Thieves stole various Rembrant and Degas paintings as well as a Vermeer and Manet. The pieces have never been located and the museum has never changed their placement. Empty walls still remain in their former place.

For years, the Sit n' Bull has been known to attract some of the greatest local acts in Blues, Folk, and Rock. This intimate venue has been home to a cozy open mike night and guaranteed quality weekend musical performances. If you're a blues fan, don't miss Ronnie Earl at the Sit n' Bull. Beyond the outstanding musicians, the pub offers fairly inexpensive drink (by Metro Boston standards) and the Pub Grub is not bad. The menu offers burgers, steaks, ribs, bbq, etc. The quality of the food often depends on who's cooking, and has quite a quality range. All in all, go for a beer, order some appetizers (especially the home-made tortillas and salsa), and enjoy the performances.

For the beginner golfer, Stowaway provides low pressure atmosphere and some surprisingly challenging golf. The course provides 9 holes, 18 if you count alternate tee-box options. This course is on average a par 4 course with some long holes. The main challenge on this course are the several tee boxes nestled in the woods that require a precision tee shot. There is no sand, and only two holes have water in play. The fairways are usually in good shape, however the greens are very slow and in some cases patchy (not a place to refine your putting, it can be frustrating here). Due it's proximity to the Assabet River, the mosquito population is pretty heavy in the evening as the sun goes down, although late morning and afternoons are not bad. Avid golfers who enjoy perfectly manicured courses will probably not appreciate Stowaway. However the course is ideal for beginners who want to try using some longer clubs on a "real course" and are tired of par 3's. Oh, and the owners/attendants are very friendly folks.

Unique Desserts by Ann Louise baked and created a delicious and stunning wedding cake for my July wedding. Meeting with her was quite an experience, as she had lots of advice and stories to share about what would work in a wedding cake and what would not. Her designs and cakes are sought after in the area and it is no wonder, she truly creates an excellent product. Guests are still asking us about the recipe, the flavors and even if they can have a piece of our one year anniversary cake when we unfreeze it. (Which by the way, Ann Louise created an anniversary layer especially for us to be saved for the future.) While her prices may run a little high, the quality and taste of her work are worth it.

I had my wedding reception at the Heidelberg Country Club and my husband and I, along with our 120 guests, could not have been happier. The food was excellent, the staff was kind and the price was perfect. We felt we received five star food and service for a two to three star price. The views off the balcony were breathtaking and guests really enjoyed being able to walk around outside when the ballroom got too hot or too noisy. The entire process was so easy and wonderful. I wish we could have another wedding reception because I would have it there again! Our guests are still raving about how wonderful the ballroom and staff was!

Honeypot Orchards are a fun time for all. WIth pick your own apples, strawberries, blueberries and more, a Saturday spent here is a good time. The prices are reasonable for pick your own. You pay per size bag, not by weight picked. You can roam over the entire orchard. Especially helpful, during apple season, they station workers throughout the orchard along with signs to direct you towards their various apple variety's (and they have got lots of them too!). They have hayrides, a hedge maze, petting zoo and farm stand too. Parking is vast and fills up quickly on the weekends (tip, go early!).
