B-Side was a fun place with good food and reasonable drinks. Unfortunately, it closed earlier this year. No idea if there are plans to reopen it. Tommy Doyle's, Cambridge Brewing ...

My man and I were looking for a cool, fun place to go and after a movie at Kendall headed over to the BSide (having heard lots about it over the years). But it just wasn't what w...

S and S is the best 10/31/2006

This place is crowded at all hours of the day and night for a reason-the food is good and its level of tastiness matches the prices. The potato pancakes served at the weekend brunch are almost perfect. There are also numerous bagel options during brunch. Lunch and dinner feature deli style hot and cold food-chopped liver, pastrami, clubs, matzo soup, etc. There are also many different kinds of desserts including Boston Cream Pie. So when you are in the mood for a good jewish deli in the Boston area head to S and S-great service and and late hours on the weekend make this a great place to stop by for a deli fix. more

B Side Lounge 4/16/2006

This place has great garlic mashed potatoes. This is also a big hang out place for Matt Damon and Ben Affleck when they are in town. The drink list is extensive and a little expensive. The food, with the exception of the mashed potatoes, is mediocre but the atmosphere can sometimes make up for it. The brunch menu is very extensive and is better than what is on offer for dinner. Brunch costs around ten dollars a person more

Crusty Cambridge Bar with Great Food and Hot Scene 4/15/2006

The B-Side Lounge is in the building that the Windsor Tavern was in forever on the corner of Hampshire and Windsor Street near Kendall Square. It's a dark bar / dinner. Service was quick, the menu was typical bar food, but the portions were huge and good enough. The bar filled up nicely with a young, hip scene that was clearly looking for a casual / divey place to hang out. Nothing "special", but fun, hip, and good energy for a warm spring night. more

Blast from the past 2/12/2006

The key thing about the B-side, as far as drinking goes, is the diversity of drinks you can get. It ranges from top shelf martinis all the way to ice cold bottled Schlitz.. It's mostly a hipster type of bar, but even those over 30 will feel at home here. Barkeeps & waitstaff will make the most common of customers feel at home. The menu changes about every two months, and there's a late risers' brunch on Sunday, too. more

Kitchen open very late 8/6/2005

Went with one other couple (4 of us in all) around 8pm on a Friday night and got seated right away. It has a dinnery feel and a casual atmosphere. There is a huge drink menu broken down by vodka, rum, whiskey, gin, etc. drinks and great beers on tap. The food is mediocre. We were told by some friends to order the maccaroni and cheese with baked gouda. It is not your typical mac&cheese as it is baked and a little bit dry but it grows on you. The tuna with rice was very good. As an appetizer we tried baked gouda with crostini. The cheese was amazing but the crostini was just a bit too hard. For dessert we shared amongst the 4 of us the chocolate fondu. The plate included figs, apricots, apples, bannanas, pound cake, and pears. It was pretty good although it was spectacular-I have had better. Evening ended up being pricey although we did have some drinks ($42/pp) considering the casual atmosphere. Parking is tough and the place starts to get loud around 9pm. more
