I had the worst pizza here. The pizza was undercooked.
There are so many better places (Urban Gormet, Mama Mias)

The breakfasts are excellent.
I recommend Waffles mounded with fruits, and Omelets made with spicy linguica.
The meal starts with malted cereal and a plate of breads. When they have them, the popovers are the best choice.
The food is too much for one person so I usually split a meal. They charge an extra $3, but even with 2 people I have never finished all the food.
The coffee is not so good. I usually bring a cup from my house. It is usually burned or nasty tasting.
Depending on the time of morning the waits can get long as hung over people amble over to union square in search of something greasy.

I was recommend Volsar by my girlfriend's coworker The service is good and I felt the prices were very fair.

Small little hidden Italien Restaurant in downtown Salem. Reservations strongly reccomended although we lucked out on a Saturday night around 6:00 and got a table. There were 4 in our party and we shared a bottle of Red Wine. The best meal was pasta with a sausage sauce that was absolutely delicious. Very romantic-good for a date.
Tables are close together though. Wait staff is attentive and knowledgable about wines. Plenty of parking. Delicious. Definitely a place to go back to again!
I love this place.

Located in The Hawthorne Hotel in Historic Salem, Tavern on The Green has a small menu that includes soups, salads, pasta dishes, wraps, chicken, and pork. It is decorated like a library with winged back
chairs and a large fireplace. The windows overlook the Salem Commons which makes it ideal for sitting back and taking in the colorful leaves in the fall or the snowy park in the winter. They have the most amazing coffee and flavored liqours. Menu is reasonable priced
and staff doesn't rush you. Great for a nightcap, or to catch up and chat with a friend.

Fun bar with great cocktails-especially the martini drinks. They havea great goat cheese appetizer. Another good appetizer is the walnut
arugala salad with balsamic vinagrette dressing. The atmosphere is lively and modern and definitely a hip crowd. Fills up on a friday/Saturday night. Good date place or girls night out. Food is not your typical italien-fish is on the menu along with a really great
meat sauce pasta. dishes but they have a great dessert menu. Pricey. Parking is a little tough but doable.

Located on the water in Salem's historic seaport district this is a good restaurant to go on a date or with a friend too although it is pricey. Good appetizers and fish available on the menu. Attentive staff. Nice outdoor seating available on the water in warmer weather.
Yellow Fin was the special the night we went and it was delicious. We also tried a yummy, tender sirloin steak. Nice bar in the center of the restaurant and a couch near the fireplace makes it a nice setting
in the winter months as well.
The bar is cool. You might recongize Finz from a Daily Show sketch which featured the owner of Finz trying to play down the Witchy Heritage of Salem and play up the great food.

The Independent strikes me as having a little schizophrenia . The menu has very high end food and ballpark franks during red sox games.
Located in Union Sq. very cozy atmosphere that includes a bar and a dining room. Dining Room is swanky and sleek and the bar looks well
like an Irish bar, cozy and a great place to get together with friends and catch up or play a game. The bar has TV's to watch the game but not noisy or overcrowded like other bars. Food is a mix of pub food and more higher end items such as a Scallop Plate. Pub Food has burgers, pressed sandwiches (delicious pressed pork/pressed chicken sandwich). Nice availability of beers on tap. Plenty of parking. A good place to chill.
The staff is very cool. Easily the best bar in Somerville.

Nice setting in downtown, historic Marblehead on the water. Went for lunch with a friend. Menu was full of fish dishes, sandwiches, salads, etc. Lots to choose from. Staff was very slow in taking our orders and bringing drinks to the table. Our meal took almost 40 minutes to come (we got the fish and chips, and a salad-not a big deal). Good restaurant for food choice and atmosphere-awful for
service and attentiveness of the staff. Parking is hard to find and but available if you are willing to walk a couple of blocks.

The food and drinks is resonably priced. The bar is more of a hangout, literary type gathering. All types of good beers on draft. The bartender was great and was willing to make us Sangria even though it is not on their menu. Staff doesn't rush you, you can just chill. Live music via DJ on the weekends.
