When I found out I was pregnant with my first child, I looked at website reviews, such as this one, in selecting which practice I would go with. Thinking it would be great to have a practice with 5 women, most of whom would have experienced childbirth themselves, I picked Associates. As long as my pregnancy was trouble-free, I was ambivalent about the care I was receiving - we certainly never had the warm fuzzies about anyone there, but no major complaints besides feeling "processed through" at each visit. However, once I ran into major problems at 27-weeks and ended up in the hospital, I realized I was at a practice that was WAY too big for personal attention and all-too-easy to get lost in the shuffle. Doctors make you feel rushed for the most part, several are just plain gruff & grouchy, and even after having been there my entire pregnancy, a good stretch of which for weekly visits, I have to explain my situation again nearly every time to techs and doctors alike. And at each visit, I still feel "processed through". I have two friends who tried them as well - one left for another practice following several visits where she was made to feel her questions and concerns were ignored, and one who, like me, is too far along to switch practices at this point - but like me, will not be going back to them again for baby #2.
