Soft, Fuzzy Fun 6/8/2006

I can wander this store for hours, constantly seeing colors and textures I've never seen before. I like to play games like "find the softest yarn" while waiting for my friend to finish planning her latest project. The yarn isn't cheap, no, but it's generally cheaper than yarn stores in ritzier areas like the one up in Montclair. And they offer classes and a free drop-in time on Tuesday afternoons where they'll help anyone who has any knitting problems! more

Great selection! 4/4/2006

I stopped by this store a couple of years ago and was really impressed with the selection. The staff is nice, and they have a large enough sale collection. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for upscale yarn in Oakland. The location is very convenient as well. more

The yarns aren’t cheap, but they don’t squeek (see Michael’s for that). The owner is friendly and helpful. The staff has a range of abilities, but I’ve always been able to find someone there with sufficient experience. Plus, many have tattoos, so this is not your grandma’s knitting store. The layout of the store is aesthetically pleasing and organized. Thumbs up. more
