Ananyas Day Spa

I've gone to Ananda Spa twice now since Christmas. Julianne the owner and eshtetician has the best hands ever. She has done great job clearing out my unsightly pores with out any pain. My skinhas never been so soft and smooth! The products smell so yummy that I just want to eat them. The spa is cute ond cozy... the only downside is the bathroom is not in the spa but down the hall. However peacefulness and privacy makes it well worth while. more

I have been going to Ananda now for over a year. This is quite simply the best place to get a massage in Seattle. All of the girls working there give a fantastic massage - Julie Anne, Calm, Naomi, et al. The 90 minute massage is my fave - just be prepared to be sooo relaxed as to melt! Highly recommended! I have to say that my experiences with Vanessa have only been positive. Vanessa has done my waxing (eyebrows, legs, and armpits) and has made it an enjoyable experience. It seemed painless when she did it!!! She is always very personable and friendly, making you feel right at home. She has also given me advice on certain products to use for my dry skin, which helped when I tried them! :) All in all, Vanessa makes the spa experience a relaxing and pleasurable one! more

Wow! I didn't know a facial could be this good. I've had facials in a number of places but I was just so pleased with this one. Vanessa made me so comfortable and relaxed I nearly fell asleep. She told me she's been doing this for years and it certainly shows. Her recommendations for my skin where right on target -not pushy at all. Having worked in the Spa Industry for over half a decade, I can't help saying how refreshing it is to have found Ananda Spa. Immediately upon entering Ananda Spa you can feel the tranquil enviornment soothing your being. From the friendly greeting all the way to the end of your services, Ananda Spa will impress and amaze. I initially came in to get a Lip and Brow wax with Jessica: Jessica has such a sweet bubbly personality and made what can be a somewhat uncomfortable appointment pleasant. My eyebrows were done perfectly, and NOT TOO THIN!, which is a pet peeve to say the least. My lip, on the other hand went smoother than I've ever experienced. This is a surprisingly tender area folks! She used a soft to hard wax (?) and did it all at the same time. Before I knew it, it was over. Then we started talking about my skin concerns, and since I WAS just laying there, I decided to get a facial too. She didn't try ot over sell me on ANYTHING, just the basic Signature Facial. How nice. She said it was all I need since she'd use all the tools and products she would need to get my skin in optimum condition. I beleive I fell asleep, because an hour was over so fast! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that she knows Reiki too, and explained that the energy just naturally flows during the facial. I WAS SO RELAXED! MY SKIN LOOKS LIKE A BABY'S YOU KNOW WHAT, and I'm definately coming back. Thank you for hiring this amazing esthetician called Jessica! I've had microdermabrasion treatments in the past. But this one takes the cake....Today I received a diamond microdermabrasion today from the sweetest facialist, Jessica. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and bubbly! She cleansed and then analyzed my skin without making me feel bad, then recommended some ways to address some of my skin "issues". (even though I'm sure she shrieked inside when I told her I use Cetiphyl!). Then she continued with the microdermabrasion, and to my surprise, IT DIDN'T HURT AT ALL! In fact, my skin wasn't red afterward but I could clearly see that my skin was smoother and more soft. I ended up purchasing a series of 6, but not just for the treatment, but also for the wonderful visit I get to have again with sweet Jessica! Thank you! more

I had heard about Ananda Spa through a friend whom I trust knows the industry like no one else ...So I decided to take her advice and get some pampering. I drove into town during rush hour traffic and after once around the block I found something right in front. The entrance was small and inviting like a little Zen boutique. I was greeted warmly at the desk and then approached graciously by the Esthetician Diane Oakley who gave me my signature facial. I was impressed by her instincts and felt she assessed my needs remarkably well. She was very pleasant and had such a nice calm voice I fell right into the "spa zone" and trusted her completely. Diane had the most nurturing touch I have ever experienced in a facial massage. The treatment room was like a sanctuary, I felt far removed from the hustle and bustle of urban life just steps away from the front door. I felt so confident with Diane that I scheduled an appointment for a Brazilian and Brow waxing for a week later. This time I came on a Sunday and discovered ample parking. I experienced the same serene feeling as I entered the spa and haven of the treatment room. But the most amazing part was Diane?s skill with waxing. I have been getting Brazilians for years at a very reputable spa in the Northend and have never had such an easy time with it as I did with Diane. Between Diane?s expertise and the products that she uses, I had a wonderfully thorough Brazilian with so little pain. And the time (much less than my usual hour) and wax applications were so much less (1-2 vs. 3-4) than at this other salon, I was so impressed! I recommend Ananda Spa highly and Diane Oakley will be my Esthetician for as long as I live and work in this city. My skin looks fantastic, I felt so rejuvenated and I'm hooked on the organic marine based product line. I even purchased some power repair cream. Anyone looking for a great facial and/or waxing (especially the dreaded Brazilians), go see Diane Oakley she's truly gifted! Pros: Skilled Esthetician - thumbs way up! I just visited Anada Spa for my first brazilian bikini wax with Diane, and it was absolutely amazing! Since it was my first waxing, I was really nervous and scared that it was going to be really painful but Diane put me totally at ease and kept a conversation going with me throughout the entire procedure. It really helped to keep me distracted and I barely noticed when I was being waxed! The waxing barely hurt at all and Diane did an amazing job! Ananda is an amazing spa and I will definitely be going back! The entire spa exudes relaxation which is reflected through all of the interior design, I was instantly relaxed the second I walked through the door. After reviewing many spas in the Seattle area, my friend and I decided to go to Ananda spa for a relaxing manicure and pedicure the day before our senior prom. Although we had gift certificates, we were prepared to spend over 50 dollars on top of our 50 dollar gift certificates in exchange for a relaxing, fun day. We set up appointments no problem, and drove about a half an hour to the spa. Parking was scarce, but we paid the 10 dollars and found the spa with a little bit of searching. But when we got there, the woman working informed us that the woman who was scheduled to do our manicure and pedicures had taken a vacation! This would have been fine if they had called ahead and tried to reschedule, but they hadn't! Worst yet, the woman said that this had happened to more customers than us, and they never offered any sort of compensation. So after the whole trip down there and paying for parking, we had no manicurist. Luckily, we found a small place just up the street. I will never be going back to Ananda spa after how they treated us and the situation. more

This was my first brazillian wax so of course I felt nervous and embarassed. Chelsea made me feel very comfortable right from the start and was very friendly, nice and a pleasure to talk to. She would talk to you to get your mind off the fact that you are actually getting waxed. I didn't feel any harsh pain at all and was definately not as bad as I thought it would be! I would definately go see Chelsea for the waxes again! The girls at front desk are extremely nice and the salon itself seemed peaceful when I walked in. I can't wait to get their massages! The spa is kind of difficult to find because it is in a building tucked away on the lower level. Their sign is hard to see so that's why it's easy to miss. Parking was bad that afternoon on Saturday, mainly because people were out and about that day since it was such a nice day. Be sure to get there early in case you have to circle around to find parking! Pros: Professional staff, clean spa Cons: Parking, needs better signs more

Though I have not yet been to Ananda Spa, anywhere that Diane Oakley works has got to be golden! Diane gave me a facial/massage back in April. The experience with her was every bit worth the money spent! Diane is not only extremely professional and adept, she has such positive energy surrounding her. You can feel the positive energy flow to you as her hands work their magick. Her clients are her total focus and you will not only see the benefits from the service, you will feel it. She works hard to pamper you and give you more than what you pay for. The WAC lost a great lady when they lost Diane! She is the standard by which you will judge others in her field. I will definitely go back to see her again in the future and I recommend her to anyone looking for the total spa experience. more

I have been waxing different areas of my body for years...unfortunately. But I have found a consistently GREAT waxer in Chelsea at Ananda Spa. I have relied on her expertise for years she always leaves my brows in great shape and her waxes are pain-free and fast. I also enjoy her lip and bikini service, sounds strange to say it like that, but she is a solid waxer. Not only are her brow waxes great she is an outstanding aesthetician and I highly recommend her facials. more

Chelsea waxed my brows and did my brazilian, she is fantastic! I have had many brazilians and it is always something I dread. Not only did it not hurt as much when Chelsea did it, but she kept my mind on other things with pleasant conversation. Before I knew it the whole thing was over. My brows look great! After 3 months of coming here I have to say this is the best massage place not only in Seattle, but anywhere I have ever gone. as someone who travels a lot and gets a lot of massages in spas around the country, i can attest that calm gave me one of the best massages i've ever had...yes, her name is calm. obviously everyone has mentioned the bathroom outside and yes, i'm afraid to say that's a pretty big deal when you're doing the spa thing. the ambience is nice and funky and although hard to find the first time, parking is no problem on the street on a saturday. i'll go again for a massage for sure, but i do admit there are times i want a more serene experience and because i could hear the people in the hallway outside my massage room talking/laughing/answering cel phones, i was a bit disappointed. there should probably be a "be quiet" in here mandate for stuff like that. By the time you park and find the place in its odd location, you hope it'll be worth it but its not. My pedicure was average at best. It felt rushed and I never got a chance to relax. The polish was sloppy in spots and chipped the next day. The facility was ok but they only have one nail girl so you can't come with your friends and get your nails done at the same time. Overall it was like a $20 pedicure but I was paying more than twice that. more

Patsy is simply THE BEST manicurist in Seattle. I have been using Patsy's services for over 2 years, and I will NEVER let anyone else near my perfect pink and whites. She is gentle and fast, using only her manual tools to file and buff, and she has never hurt me when I remove a set. The entire experience is relaxing and stress relieving, as Patsy is a fabulous listener. She always shows you that she is paying complete attention to you, and asks questions to make more conversation, which puts clients at ease. She relates well to everyone, is the epitomy of professionalism and class, and is worth every penny! more

I have to say, this is the worst spa I have ever been to. I was made to wait over 20 minutes, even though it was like a ghost-town in there...I think maybe they were waiting for someone to show up for work. It was a lot of money for the most basic nail service, which was performed as though it was a practice run. I went home having to file a bit and retouch polish. For some reason I felt sorry for them...it seemed like a second-rate place. Anyway, I should have left immediately when the manicurist starting telling me about her money problems. I recommend spending time and money elsewhere. more

feels so good! I had a massage with Lorie and I can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed. I decided to splurg and go for an hour and a half instead of my usual hour and that was a great decision on my part. Now I know why people say once you do the hour and a halfs, the hours don't seem like enough time. I say hours are for chumps! Lorie was fantastic and she glided over my body, gently yet effectivley working out my kinks. I like a good amount of pressure and she delivered it perfectly. I was in such a trance at one point in the massage, I actually drooled on the floor. Luckily the rooms are dimly lit ! I emerged from that massage with a new outlook. Lorie had banished the stress from my frantic brain and worked my muscles into a state of warm fuzzy bliss. Ella es el mejor!
