I was with a business dinner party of 4. The lighting was rather dark in the restaurant, thus hiding many of the imperfections on the food. The wine selection, not listed on their website, was rather limited despite the restaurant saying that they have a large selection. One of my colleges, a former wine writer, could not find a decent white to pair with any of the apps. \r

Our appetizers were quite impressive, but rather lacking in quantity, but I expected this from this style of restaurant. After asking two members of the wait staff for new knives, as ours were removed with the appetizers, we were finally able to consume our entrees. I ordered the Ostrich Medallions and was rather excited being my first time trying the bird. I was a bit disappointed that the presentation of the meal was worse that what an Applebee's or TGI Fridays would do. It was overly seasoned with rosemary, thus I could not taste the bird at all, just rosemary. Additionally, my sides of sauteed Zucchini was scattered about with the sauce running every where and my Mashed potatoes (which was odd coming from a South African restaurant) was nothing more than a ""dollop"" on the plate. \r

We ordered a red do go with dinner and the first bottle was corked, not to mention that in questioning the wait staff about their wine selection, we had little success in getting a straight answer about wine pairing.\r

After seeing a bill for 4 people (4 apps, 4 entrees, two glasses of white, 1 bottle of red, two desserts, and 3 after dinner drinks) at 300ish, I was a bit shocked. I expect to pay a price at nice places and do not have a problem with it, but if I am to pay this, I expect the experience to be worth it. Would I go back, no. Would I recommend it, no.
