I work for Whipple. I have seen it grow and crumble only to grow again. We have our down seasons and we have our high seasons. One thing that is consistent all year round is our top of the line technicians who we send through drug screens, background checks and rigorous training to make sure that we are top of the line performers for our clients. We don't have the lowest prices and we will never have the lowest prices. But we will have the best warranties, the best customer service and 24 hour services for anyone and everyone. Not every company out there can boast the same promise. I have seen comments about us being a ""rip off"" and how Whipple employees are nothing but ""scam artists"" and the like. As a manager, if I ever saw any of my employees taking advantage of any of our customers, they are fired on the spot. We do not tolerate bad customer service. So much in fact that we have a strenuous training program for all new employees both in the field and in the office. I know, because I have helped create that material! I also know that our owner will do anything and everything to make sure our customers are happy. If there are any concerns about our service, we suggest that you call us and try to get the issue resolved. We will work with you to make sure you are satisfied! Our company policy simply states that you don't pay until you are 100 PERCENT SATISFIED! We honor that whether it is on the spot or up to two years after you have our service. And as mentioned above we have some of the best warranties in the business. On a personal level, I rated our company a 4. No company is perfect. We certainly try to be, don't get me wrong! But there is always room for improvement. more

My nephew worked for this company for a short time, but his conscience made him decide to accept employment with an honest, reputable company instead! Whipple pays there ""technicians"" solely on a commission basis. They quickly learn they are in the ""replacement"" business, not ""repair"". This company has an extremely high turnover rate. This does not apply only to field technicians, but also office staff, and human resource personnel. The BBB has revoked it's accreditation . This company needs to learn how to not only treat customers fairly, but it's employees also. more

Overpriced - couldn't even finish a SIMPLE job! 1/11/2012

I rented a tool to unplug my bathroom drain but couldn't break thru the clog. So I decided to call a professional. I called Whipple after hearing a radio ad and they assured me there would be no extra charges. I waited two days for them to come. A very young man showed up with that same tool and found out it wasn't sufficient also. So, this young man had to call his supervisor to ask what to do. My choices were to put in a chemical that may damage the pipes - or he'd have to bring out another tool - WHICH WOULD COST $370! I said no way and sent him on his way. The only GOOD thing about Whipple is the young man didn't argue when I said I wouldn't pay for service not rendered. He doubted that I'd find someone else for cheaper. Well, I called Electric Rooter and they had someone out in TWO HOURS and had it fixed in 20 minutes, replaced parts under the sink for no extra charge and guaranteed the work to stay unclogged for $113. There's no WAY I'd call Whipple again - and other negative reviews have had the same experience! more

I had one of their Technician Murphy come over to my house to fix my leaking kitchen sink. I give this technician two thumbs up because of his willingness to help and is very courteous. Whipple has very good service staff ready to assist you. more

straightening out a few rumors 12/16/2011

First of all i am a whipple employee.Our prices may be more than you expect on some things but noone and i mean noone carries the warranty's that we do,sure you can get a furn for a little cheaper but then once something happens to it and it needs repair and their warranties do not run as long or include what ours do you are paying out of pocket an out of this world repair charge.Our techs are in fact certified and drug tested to clear that rumor up as well. And as a whipple employee i can say Kent is not a rip off master he in fact is in fact a honest business owner i see it with my own eyes everyday he always makes an effort to make the customer happy and if there is any problem at all i have seen him go oh so very far out of his way to get it fixed and i very much enjoy working for him.Our techs do the job and do it right and they care and we are one of the only companies that do not charge after hours fees we are here to serve the customers.We are a company we are out to make money but we DO NOT lie in the process of doing so.Whipple Service Champions Employees are honest,Loyalmore

Overpriced and VERY dishoneest 12/5/2011

Have had numerous dishonest experiences with Whipple. The most recent was when they came for a furnace tune-up and told me I had dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and shut down my furnace. I got another furnace company AND the gas company to come out and test my levels which they both found to be at zero--no carbon monoxide whatsoever and completely SAFE. I had a leaky faucet which they told me had to be completely replaced since the necessary parts were not availble. They wanted $1100 to replace it. I called the faucet company which had a lifetime warranty on the faucet and they sent me the part for free and it cost me $75 for Faucet Fixers to install the part. Another time they came for an AC tuneup and they said ther was a part "about to break." I didn't have them replace it and funny thing 3 days later, it broke. I don't think that was a coincidence. Stay away from Whipple--they are DISHONEST and OVERPRICED!!! more

no more toilet paper on toilet bowl 12/1/2011

I put my faith and trust when it comes to my house plumbing to whipple Plumbing. My son had played with our toilet and flushed down a whole roll of toilet paper. It took us days to get it working again. I am glad to call these guys and have them fix our toilet. It took them just minutes to get our toilet clean. These guys are professionals and are clean in their work. more

Get Another Opinion 11/16/2011

First Whipple tech earlier in the year said our furnace was fine CM emissions wise. Yesterdays tech said it was so bad they should shut it off and replace it for $4000.00. We had Questar come today and their tech said the furnace was fine. They also indicated they get lots of complaints about Whipple. more

It amazes me how people on here are complaining about Whipple's pricing. Whipple has never EVER claimed to be the cheapest company but they claim that you get what you pay for. And every time I have ever used them, I get what I pay for. I needed a new furnace so I called Whipple and some other companies out to give a me a bid and even though Whipple was one of the highest (other companies were up there too, some even more expensive) their service stood out to me in a way none of the others did. Their tech showed up in a clean, white shirt. He looked put together and had a nice hair cut. He was very knowledgable and polite. He put booties on his shoes before he came inside to keep my carpets clean. NONE of the other companies even came close to doing something like this! And even though their price was higher, when I looked at Whipple's warranties and guarantees compared to the other companies, it was NO contest. Whipple technicians ARE the service champions. Every promise they made has been fulfilled by tenfold. I also joined their preferred customer club membership which i pay monthly for but guarantees me same day service and I get free services every year to maintain my equipment I purchased with them. Yes, I've spent a lot of money with Whipple. But WAKE UP people! If you want the best, you're going to have to pay for it! I can only compare it to shopping at Nordstroms instead of Walmart! more
