one of the best meals I have had on grub hub

Worst

I went for dinner, and I went for the BBQ sampler -- sausage, BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, and ribs. Boy was that a lot of food for only $11.95! The ribs were a little chewy and fatty...

Horrible Food..Way over priced 10/17/2002

After being excited for weeks I became extremely dissappointed withe lack of service, meat that was hard as a rock and expensive prices ($28 steaks). Culinary Magic 10/3/2002

The kitchen magically converted a juicy pork chop into a piece of jerky, an our waiter made himself invisible most of the night. The baked potatoes suffered from too much time in the warmer; it had lost it's fluff long before it made it to the table. On the up side, the lamb chops were flavorful and properly cooked, and the Grilled Beefsteak Tomato Salad was a perfect starter. The bar pours a great martini, and is a pleasant way to wait for a table; it 45 minutes at 7pm on a Tuesday. The table service, or lack thereof, and the prices made a good experience merely mediocre. OUTSTANDING ALL AROUND 8/25/2002

Bravo to the Weber Grill Staff....... A few friends from out of town were visiting the city so I decided to use the oppurtunity to try the restaurant. The wait wasnt too bad for a Saturday night in Chicago and the host staff kept me informed and even shortened my wait time! After we were sat our server (Bryan) told us about how the meals were prepared, (they actually use Weber Grills) and was very knowledgeable. The Sampler is a great way to start, and gives you a taste of a few things. The steaks are the best in the city, and the swordfish is amazing!!!!! Save room for desert because they bring a tray with the deserts prepared to give you a visual. I was tooooo full for desert but I will definitly be back! Great food, great service, and a lot of fun! A Disservice to the Weber Name 8/18/2002

A friendly guy on the phone said the wait was shortening from an hour, but when we got there it had surprisingly increased to 1.5 hours or more! We decided to chance it since the food passing by looked and smelled great. Unfortunately, they must have been shipping those dishes out to another restaurant because they resembled nothing we got. Only one of six steaks was cooked properly, all approached shoe-leather toughness, and one of my friends got the wrong dish; they explained it was because they had run out of prime rib and thought this would be a good substitute -- but never thought to ask?!! At least the servers and manager were very friendly about it, and decided to comp the food. But even that can't comp for a Saturday night that turns into a major disappointment. Great Food - Horrendous Service 8/16/2002

Our waitress started out poorly by bringing us sour cream to spread on our bread instead of butter, then brought the wrong wine, DIDN'T bring our appetizer, brought the wrong meal (twice) so that my friend and I ate 15 minutes apart. Our waitress was so inattentive we had to ask the hostess to find her to tell her we had the wrong meal. She took forever with the tab, both to bring it to us and to return with our receipt. There was no explanation and only a perfunctory apology for the repeated mistakes. The live music, a too loud Cat Stevens wannabe, was intrusive, annoying, and made conversation difficult (we weren't even in the same room). The steak and potatoes were very good, however I would never return because of the service and atmosphere. It was a truly bad experience. The Grillmasters! 7/25/2002

We made our second visit this month to the new location. Both prime rib (great hickory smoke flavor) and steaks were served to perfection. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. I ate at Weber last night. It was incredible. I had a ""beer can chicken"". When I let our server know how much I liked it, they offered to give us the recipe! How many places do that. Don't even bother 7/22/2002

I work right across the street from Weber Grill so decided to pick up some ribs for dinner. When I got home I found that the ribs were burnt, not even edible. I also did not receive my complete order. I called and spoke with the manager who apologized and did remove the charge from my credit card. Needless to say, I won't be back. If the manager had been smart he would have also offered free dinner so they have a chance to redeem themselves. I take it they really don't care about my business. more

Just like the Backyard!! 7/6/2002

As I walked into the restaurant, I saw the huge grills and smelled the cooking food and I was instantly hooked. The service was great and the food was amazing. Their cooking technique locks in the juices and flavor so as you bite into the meat the juices are released into your mouth. My meat was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. This is a must for everyone, especially backyard grill lovers. Pros: Good Parking, Great Food, Good Service more

I have eaten at both the Lombard and Wheeling locations. Although those were good, the downtown location was great !! Great ambiance, great food. The ribs and beer can chicken were fabulous. My friend's steak was cooked perfectly. more

I WAS PRIVILEGED TO BE ONE OF THE GUEST FOR THEIR GRAND OPENING ON STATE STREET ON 6-5-02. I HAVE NOW PUT THEM AT THE TOP OF MY LIST FOR FAVORITE RESTAURANTS. THE FOOD WAS MAGNIFICENT!! EVERYONE OWES IT TO THEMSELVES TO GO AND HAVE AN UNFORGETTABLE DINNER!!!!!!! more
