Best

one of the best meals I have had on grub hub

Worst

I went for dinner, and I went for the BBQ sampler -- sausage, BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, and ribs. Boy was that a lot of food for only $11.95! The ribs were a little chewy and fatty...

Editorial review from GrubHub 10/10/2008

We love Weber Grill! My comments are not so much about the food, but about additional requests. We order burgers often and we NEVER receive condiments even though we request them! Also the last burger I had was supposed to be medium well and it was well done to the point that it was dry. But nevertheless, the food is delicious!! more

Order arrived 30 minutes early! The bourbon salmon and roasted mash potatoes were delicious. I'll definitely order again and would recommend Weber Grill. more

Disappointing! Everything was cold. Packaging not meant for heat retention and delivery. No utensils, not even a single napkin included. more

great place for burnt filet 6/17/2008

Our server was fantastic, but the food was terrible. I got the filet medium to medium rare, which was good, but I could literally taste the burn of the grill marks on my steak. It's a shame...seemed like such a quality piece of meat, but then you burn it and completely ruin the flavor. There have got to be better steak places in Chicago.\r \r It was actually my second time there, so shame on me. I remember not being all that impressed the first time either. more

Crowded as hell 6/10/2008

I visited the Weber Grill the week of NeoCon, which was probably the reason why it was so crowded... the servers could not get through the crowd by the door and in the bar. I was dining alone, and while the wait was only 30-40 minutes (which surprised me) I was able to find a table in the bar instead. The server was very competent, friendly, and fast despite the crowd. However the food wasn't that great. The garlic mashed potatoes were probably the best I've ever had, but the teriyaki salmon was absolutely drowned in sauce. The only reason I knew I was eating fish was the flakiness of the meat. I couldn't taste anything beyond the teriyaki. The key lime cheesecake is served not in slices, but in SLABS, and it isn't really very good. I might still visit here again to try something else on the menu. Pros: Service, selection of beer, location in Hilton Garden Inn Cons: Over-seasoned food more

Worst service of my entire life. 5/19/2008

We had lunch service for 12 on Sunday and it was the worst service and food that I've ever experienced. Here's an overview:\r \r 11:30 AM - Group seated, appetizer and drink orders taken by waiter.\r 11:50 AM - Drinks served, when asked about placing the entree order, we were told that he was not our waiter.\r 12:00 PM - A diner from our party sought out a waiter to take our entree order. \r 12:10 PM - Entree order taken and appetizers served, more drinks were requested. \r 12:30 PM - We asked for a manager, we told her of the problems, she said she'd look into it. She came back and told us that the waiter that took our food order was now assigned to our table.\r 12:50 PM - Entrees were still not served, I sought out the same manager and asked about the food order, she told me that we were the ""next ticket out."" \r 1:00 PM - I sought out the manager again and asked to speak to her manager. Her manager told us that the host station sat us in a section that did not have waiters and that's why we had the service issues. \r 1:15 PM - When the waiter brought the check, i noticed that we were being charged a 18% gratuity due to our party size. Since we received such poor service, I asked the waiter to take the forced gratuity off of the bill. He argued with me and said ""It's not my fault, it was the host station."" I told him that I wanted to see the manager again.\r 1:20 PM - When the waiter did not return, I went to the host station to find our check and saw the waiter and the manager arguing over the bill. When we got the bill, the manager said she would offer us gift cards, but she knew that we could take that as an insult and assumed we were not planning on coming back to the restaurant.\r \r With regards to the food, the hamburgers were not properly cooked (one was requested as well and came out as medium, it needed to be sent back) and did not have any grilled flavor. Also, the New York Strip salad basically tasted like cold roast beef on a bed of lettuce.\r Cons: Service was terrible more

Weak even for corporate food 3/18/2008

I went on a week night with a friend, and was seated quickly with prompt service. Both of us ordered the baby back ribs, and both thought they were over cooked. The meat was dry what you got if it because the slab was small with little meat on it. The rest was tough and chewy overcooked. The sides of cornbread and baked beans were very good. It was not so terrible that I would not go gain, but maybe I'll order an over seasoned steak next time. Pros: Quick service Cons: Dry food more

Two thumbs up! 3/11/2008

I would reccommend going to the Weber Grill, if you want a relaxing place to eat and have good food. The service was great right from the very start. Our waiter had to leave as his shift was ending, but he saw our food come up and brought it to our table all while he had his coat on ready to go. He wanted to make sure we were taken care of, which was a really nice gesture. He was friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was amazing, I had the sampler which was a great choice asit gave me a little bit of everything. There was shrimp, beer can chicken strips, steak skewers, ribs and onion curls. It was fun to eat and it tasted great. Also before our meal they brought out amazing preztel like rolls that I have never seen anywhere else. So, if you love bread you have to try those as well. So, if you are ever in the area, this place is a must to try! Pros: A good variety of food, fun place, good service Cons: we went on a Sunday and they were out of a lot of there meat choice, so going early in the weekend is probably a safer bet more

Incredible food, great people, cozy atmosphere. 2/28/2008

My experience at Weber Grill was fantasitc and unforgettable;from the food to the extremely helpful and friendly staff. I had heard a lot of good feedback from my friends and I wanted to see what all the hoot was about. I walked in and was instantly greeted with a smile and a very genuine hello (not like the forced greetings I've experienced elsewhere). While my husband and I waited to be seated we grabbed a drink at the bar and Mike took care of us. It was like him and my husband had known eachother for years;he was that friendly and sociable (very refreshing) We were seated 7 minutes before our estimated wait time (20-30 mn). Even the host, a very nice gentlemen, actually asked how I was doin, a very small but never forgotten gesture. The atmosphere was cozy and we were seated near one of their fireplaces. I was told by our server that there are two cozy firelplaces in the restaurant (so if you want to sit by one of those either sit waaay toward the back of the restaurant, or sit in the ""grill room"", which is to your right when you walk in. My server was amazing and very knowledgable about the food, I never got a ""ummm, let me check Im not sure"" about the menu. Everything was thorough. The food was delicious. My husband and I had the Weber Sampler to start, he had the blackened-boneless rib eye and i had the meatlof. You might ask why meatloaf, but it was highly recommended and I had to try it.Its unlike any meatloaf Ive ever had. You can really taste the grill flavor and the barbeque bourban baked beans that come with it are to die for. Chocolate Bundt cake was our dessert and it tasted like heaven. Overall, the experience was wonderful. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Its not uptight but its certainly not your run of the mill burger joint. I saw a lot of families diniing there so if anyone is worried about finding a place DOWN TOWN where the whole family can come, you might want to consider Weber Grill. EVERYONE should dine at Weber Grill! more

go for the baby back 12/26/2007

i went here based on a foodie friend's recommendation and was told there would be excellent meat to be had.\r \r so, i braved the whipping winds of and snow flurries falling on chicago on this cold winter day.\r \r the service was friendly and prompt. good sign. didn't like the smoking inside but this should not be an issue come january 1, 2008 when the state's ban on smoking inside restaurants and bars takes effect.\r \r i had a combo meal: pulled pork over white bread and baby back ribs. the combo also came with cornbread, beans and slaw. i paired it with the woop woop shiraz.\r \r the baby back ribs was very good. i enjoyed the smokey goodness and it was very lean and meaty. it did not fall off the bone but it was pretty damn yummy. the bbq sauce also had a nice tanginess.\r \r the pulled pork, on the other hand, was disappointing. i guess i expected more -- it wasn't warm enough, and it also was not so tender.\r \r the beans - i am really not a fan of beans but this was good. apparently, it's got jim beam bourbon. \r \r the coleslaw -- this was more pickled tasting. i am glad it was not drenched in mayo, like most slaws.\r \r i enjoyed the cornbread. it was moist, sweet and came in a generous portion. i was very happy with the cornbread.\r \r the shiraz went well with the meat.\r \r overall, this place is good. it could have been loads better but for the pulled pork. i expected to be blown away. oh well.\r more

TIP YOUR SERVERS 20% 8/24/2007

These people work very hard and tip out large amounts of their own earnings to the food runners, bussers and bartenders. When you don't tip the server, they have to pay for you to eat there because they still have to pay staff regardless if you tip them or not. more

Excellent food but long wait.. 7/17/2007

The Weber Grill is a different kind of place to eat. large kettle Weber Grills are used to cook the food. The food is fantastic, the bartender is very fast and always seems to see when you are ready for another round.\r \r Seating inside takes longer to get than the outside patio, which I don't understand, the outside has a nicer appeal to it. \r \r The Pork Chops are excellent and the Ribeye steaks are so flavorful, my mouth is watering now thinking of it.\r \r I will go back for sure ! Pros: Food...Service Cons: Long wait, go early.. more

Great chicken 4/26/2007

I fell in love with their beer can chicken, that is the only thing I get there now. It's so moist and flavorful it's insane! more

Good...but...well...??? 4/24/2007

Where else in Chicago can you see live actual grilling being done indoors? This place has that warm atmosphere feeling all over the place, almost too warm if you ask me (and I'm not just talking about the massive grill kettles either). But enough about the place itself, let's talk about the food. They have a variety of classic barbeque classics from burgers, beer can chicken, ribs, and of course the steaks. Although the food is good, it does tend to be rather dry, no matter what you order or how done you have it cooked. Heck, you can order it raw and still have a peice of meat rather dry. Plus, they rarely change their menu items which is a bit of a letdown, especially if you've had everyhing on the menu. Bottom line, sure go ahead and try it at least once. But, if you can, try to find a better barbeque restaurant. Pros: Good food, Right off the Grand Red Line stop, Tourist Stop, Cheaper than other Steakhouses in North Loop Cons: Dry food, Valet, Lack of variety, You walk out smelling like barbeque smoke, side salads are small portioned more

Warm and inviting atmosphere. Anything off of the grill is great. Very friendly wait staff. 3/29/2007

If you're looking for great grilled food in a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere, this is the place. The BBQ ribs and chicken are delicious, and wait until you taste the desserts! Pros: Food and atmosphere Cons: could get crowded fast more

There are much better places 9/2/2006

This Weber Grill is a dump compared to the one in the burbs. Eating at this location is like going to Portillos, which is cool if I want a hot-dog. When I want a good steak or prime rib I want better service, and a cleaner, more enjoyable atmosphere. This place might work for lunch, but for a steak dinner visit Lowry's, Kinzie, or other. more

Don't believe the Hype 8/10/2006

Yet another chicago favorite that I just don't understand. The food is simply average and it is certainly not the barbeque flavor I am accustomed to. Most men like the spot because anything done over an open falme is a winner in their book, (even if it was fresh from under a tire). I had the beef brisket and BBQ chicken combo. The brisket was very tender but the sauce is still not quite what I'm looking for. The chicken was the problem. I'm quite sure I could have overlooked it on the menu, but, the chicken that comes with the entree is a ""pinwheel"", hence, dark meat. I strongly dislike dark meat. To change to white meat is a $5 upcharge which to me was ridiculous especially since the chicken tastes like it was cooked some other way and then put on the grill at the last moment. My hope in finding a new favorite restaurant is dwindling fast. Pros: The waiter was very nice Cons: The food was blah more
