Worst customer service 10/10/2010

I'd been to Wax On once and talked my boyfriend into going. He'd been there once with Heather and it was a great experience. She was very professional and patient . We went back a second time and got Stephanie. She obviously did not like to do men's brazilians and acted as if she just wanted to get it over as quickly as possible. When my boyfriend flinched in pain and asked her not to be so rough she got annoyed and said it was what she needed to do to get the service done. She was rude and he ended up asking her to just stop and he'd go somewhere else. She didn't apologize and just left him leave. She was horrible. Obviously she's in the wrong line of work. Neither of us have gone back. more

Seattle's Chic Place to Go for Waxing 3/30/2010

I've been coming to Wax On in Capitol Hill for almost 5 years. At first I was bummed when Sheila left, but then discovered Coni and Heather. They are both awesome! I've seen almost every esthetician at the salon and always choose to go back to the two of them. Heather is a pro at lip and brow waxing. She pays attention to the little details some of the other estheticians overlook. She makes sure she gets every hair and is very thorough. She also has a very kind and gentle touch. Coni is a riot and makes you feel right at home while you're getting a Brazilian. You can't go wrong with either of these two estheticians! My only two complaints are the (over)pricing and hand sanitization. While the estheticians use gloves for ""personal"" waxes, they don't for face waxing. I've never seen any of them use hand sanitizer or wash their hands between clients and that troubles me a bit, especially after handling money and credit cards. I Love Brazilians!!! 3/29/2009

I've had brazilians for years in several different cities. I recently went to Wax On for the first time. My technicians name was Melissa. She made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Also she did the fastest brazilian I have experienced,and not a single hair was left, other than the cute little triangle on top which she suggested as an option (my boyfriend loved it!) I will be seeing her again next month for my next wax which she explained would be $15 cheaper from now on, provided I continue to see her regularly. Excellent Waxing 2/16/2009

Most locals who know about brazilians know that Wax On is the place to go. As spas go it's pretty no frills (think bright lights, no cushy bedding, and audible conversations going on in the next room). I would never go here for a facial, massage, or other spa treatment. It is not that kind of place. However as far as skilled waxing technicians go, you can't beat it. Expect to be ushered in and out quickly and hair-free. No hour long brazilians here, which anyone who has had a brazilian knows is a good thing as long as it's as gentle and thorough. The only drawback is there is no receptionist at the front desk. Regulars know to leave a message on the voicemail because of this, and the technicians are pretty good about returning calls and quickly getting you scheduled. I recommend this place to all my friends, and if it's your first time getting waxing done you shouldn't consider going anywhere else. more

Top notch waxing! 2/5/2009

This place is awesome! I've been going for years. Regarding the few bad reviews - they occasionally hire new girls who haven't had the practice that is needed to be fast and efficient, so when you call request someone who has been there for a few years. Also they do not have a receptionist so if you call and no one answers leave them a message and they generally return your call within the hour. They even have complimentary whiskey shots in the waiting room if you need something to calm your nerves! Pros: fast and relatively painless Cons: no receptionist more

Ive been going to Wax On spa for a few years now and really enjoyed every experience ive had there! I don't know what these other people are talking about in the previous reviews, but ive pretty much seen everyone here and their all amazing! Everyone is friendly, precise, and knows what they're talking about. Take my advice from a person who's been waxing for years and check out Wax On. All the other prudes can go else where. Quality and thoroughness sorely lacking 9/9/2008

I've gone here for years for brazilian waxing, but I'll be taking my business elsewhere after 4 bad experiences in a row. These have included unnecessary pain with peeling (!) afterward, going home with small patches that are still obvious, or an esthetician who was just not thorough with her technique. At roughly $80.00 a pop, you really should get a top notch experience and Wax On consistently fails here. more

Lost my business. 8/13/2008

I've had good and bad Brazilian experiences at Wax On. There was one lady that was AMAZING (I don't remember her name, but she always wore her hair in a gorgeous scarf), but she doesn't seem to work there anymore. When I made an appointment with her, I never once had any irritation. Not so with the other girls. One girl even made me physically uncomfortable. I asked her not to tweeze because it hurt, and because her face was entirely too close to my body. Instead, she insisted on doing it, because it would drive HER crazy. Excuse me?! And don't even get me started on the last girl I saw. She missed so much hair, it took me almost half an hour to go back over it myself with tweezers when I got home!!! Needless to say, she did not get a tip. I'm so incredibly disappointed in the lack of customer service and quality. I'm sorry, WaxOn, but I've had enough. I'm going to High Maintenance (heard nothing but good from them!) Pros: One aesthetician... who no longer works there. Cons: Ineptitude, sloppy work, no prompt call-backs more

Brazilian? 7/21/2008

I went to the Kirkland Wax On for my first Brazilian and I would NOT recommend it, NOT THOROUGH AT ALL. The girl who did my brazilian was nice enough, kept up casual conversation, etc. But, as she began she told me to tell her if the wax was too hot, and I did, but she did not adjust the temperature and said something about how ""sometimes people are sensitive and it feels hotter than it is,"" and later that day guess what? I had peeling burned skin. Thank you very much. The whole procedure hurt quite a bit, which I was expecting, but the next day when the redness had subsided I noticed that she missed about 1/4 of what I was expecting her to take off! She spent a little time with tweezers, but when I saw how much she missed I was appalled. I can't believe I paid $70 plus tip for a job I had to spend over an hour cleaning up afterwards! I will never go back to Wax On. Next time I will try sugaring (all natural and can't burn you! and hopefully a more thorough esthetician!) Cons: Not thorough, too fast, pricey more

Amazing 7/15/2008

I have been going here off and on for about two years now (I would go consistantly but fluxuating income makes that difficult) and I love it. I have never had a bad experience. I normally have Sara and she is great. Friendly, funny, and skilled. I've told all my friends to come here if they want a brazillian or any other kind of wax and the ones that have love it as much as I do. I don't know about their other locations but the Cap Hill one is great because of there staff and the ease of finding close and free parking. Great place Pros: Staff, parking, abience more

Seriously! THE Best waxing ever. 5/15/2008

Wax on Spa is, hands down (or pants off), the best place to get waxed in Seattle. I've been going here pretty regularly for the last two years. My schedule is so crazy that I'm unable to commit to any one esthetician so I've seen many of the gals here. Everyone is super friendly, confident and seems happy to be waxing. They manage to make a brazillian as comfortable as chatting over tea. Also, I just had my first underarm wax and it's a billion times better than shaving. Ladies, do yourselves a favor and throw away those razors!! I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fabulous waxing experience. Pros: Friendly, Affordable, Speedy, Meticulous. I have been going to Wax On for the past year after starting at Gene Juarez for my waxings. I am so glad I switched! The girls are much more thorough here and quick! My eyebrows always turn out perfectly, in fact I get comments about them all of the time! The brazilians are quick and well done, I have recommended this place to so many friends. I really enjoy the offer of tequila or whiskey if you need a little extra numbing. I also really like their music selection, they don't play the typical 'tinkely' music that a lot of spas have, instead a great selection of rock, inde, etc Pros: quick and thorough service, booze, music selection Cons: parking is sometimes a little tricky more

A victim of bad eye brows!!! 3/15/2008

I had a brow wax last week at Wax On for the fist time, and it was a horrible experience! I decided to try this place out since I live close by. My brows turned out so bad that I cried after I was done. The esthetician attempted to fix the horrible shape she created three times!!! I had to point out the mistakes for her to understand my brows were not even after the waxed them. Now, my right brow is a round shape and my left is a very bad arch. I HAD nice eye brows and just needed a clean up wax. I can't believe this happened. In addition, I found wax in my hair and on my face. Her incapability to do my eye brows amazes me. I spoke with the manager and she handled the situation but it still did not fix my brows. I'll have to grow them out completely before I can undo the damage she did. Be careful! more

I have been to Wax On capitol hill several times and I love it every time I'm there. I have seen Sara, Shelley and Steph - they all wax a ""mean eyebrow"". Everyone is very thorough and considerate. Pros: if they can get you in that day they will; fun, upbeat atmosphere, friendly staff. whiskey!!! Cons: can't really think of any. more

Professional, knowledgeable and very friendly service. 9/1/2007

I highly recommend Wax On to anyone who wants a quality Brazilian wax. I went there for my first ever Brazilian and have been a devoted customer ever since. Sara is absolutely the best! Her quick technique was as painless as possible. Of course there is some level of discomfort. However, Sara makes every effort to lessen the discomfort; she is very experienced and definitely knows what she is doing. I was quite nervous and scared about the pain factor. Before I had ever been waxed I heard horror stories of bad waxing experiences from around the country. Reassuringly, she took the time to answer all my questions, explain what to expect and provided top-notch follow up care recommendation. I would not consider going anywhere else for my waxing more
