Transcend Salon

I can hardly believe all these great reviews for Bob at Transcend Salon. He must have written and submitted them himself!! Bob knows how to cut hair but only wants to do it his way. I was chastised for simply telling him that my hair was getting a little short in the back!! He got all mad at me and told me I could leave if I didn't want to have my hair cut HIS way!! I paid $90.00 to be yelled at and embarrassed in his shop! He also made me wait an hour while he talked and gossiped with his current client. While in the process of cutting my hair he bragged about all the stars he knows and has cut their hair .... frankly I don't believe it because I can't see them sitting there and listening to him brag about himself while he cuts their hair! Let me tell you it's a weird experience. Kind of the topper is the fact that while cutting my hair he stopped every now and then to go to the back of the shop and eat his lunch!!! I only recommend Bob and his shop if you want to get your hair cut by a self centered power tripper!! Oh, and I can't forget to mention the jokes he told me involving women's anatomy..... which I found vulgar and out of place. My advice is try somewhere else. more

Before I found Bob, I used to fly back to London to my old stylist to create the fashionable looks that fit my evolving and cutting-edge style. Bob's technique, styling and coloring, is something out of this world and is unrivaled. Everytime Bob works on your hair, his aim is to create a work of art. I have not come across any other stylist in all my years that comes anywhere close to Bob. I would recommend Bob to any of my clients and will not work with any other stylist in town. more

I'm a customer who comes regularly to TRANSCEND Salon. I have tried many other high end salons in LA but there is not one stylist that can compete with Bob! \r \r Bob does an AMAZING job with my hair. Every time I walk out of Transcend Salon I am completely satisfied. After botching my own hair I walked in to the salon to ask about walk-ins. They said they do take them but Bob was the only one and he was booked up and there was a line. He had me call back at 7:30 at night and they asked me to come back at 8:45 pm! I was shocked. They stayed late for me. He cut my hair and we had great conversation that was not gossip, but intelligent and stimulating. He also had me come back two days later and Masood repaired my color at a great rate! They worked with my crazy schedule and I felt like the hospitality and VIP service was a rare find for L.A. I felt like I found a good group of friends that just happen to work together. I have a been a customer of the Salon since 1992 and I would never change, even though is out of the way compared to where I live. Bob is a master of both color and haircut and makes the visit the most enjoyable experience. I have never had a bad color or haircut and each time I leave the Salon I feel younger and by far more good looking. Over the years I have also been very impressed by the kindness and professionalism of all employes of the Salon. I am very surprised by the two negative reviews about the Salon. It is likely that those individuals did not click with Bob (I have no ided why), and maybe they are going all the way to criticize his work. A classmate from law school dragged me in to see Bob. I was relunctant because I have very thick hair that is diffucult to cut. BUT, after one visit, I was hooked. I cannot imagine trusting my hair to anyone else! After my first visit, I brought in my husband, then my 12-year old son, and now my 4-year old daughter, who does truly feels like a princess each time she steps out of Transcend Salon. Everyone at the salon is a treasure, and highly experienced. True story, after my last hair cut, I walked into a business in Encino, and the owner proclaimed, ""I love your hair! Who did it? Transcend Salon was NOT a good experience for me nor my girlfriend, as Bob did a poor job cutting our hair, talked our heads off, and took care of a walk in customer towards the end of my women's cut. I had the good fortune of meeting Bob at one of my concerts many years ago. He's a true artist and amazing talent. Not to mention, a great human being! Bob, Gissa, Kristine, Marine, Lala and the whole Transcend staff want you to look your very best. I make frequent appointments and they are always able to accommodate my schedule. Everywhere I go these days, I get complimented on my hair -- ""What beautiful red hair"" or ""The color of your hair is amazing"" and my favorite ""Could you tell me the name of your salon?"". When I came to Transcend, my hair was an epic tragedy. With help from Kristine, today my hair is the proverbial happy ending!! The color and texture are silky perfection, and the cut is fantastic.
