Once a couple of my friends were walking along a street. They've seen a lady with the cutest baby. What they immediately noticed was how great woman's hair looked and what a great heairstyle it was. Actually, one of my friends told the other one: ""look, how great her hair is"". She was probably a bit too loud, so the woman turned around and said: ""i did my haircut 4 months ago. do you want my stylist's number? he does the most amazing haircuts. even when your hair is growing, it would still look like it was cut last week!"" I started going to this salon about four months ago after a good friend repeatedly told me that Bob, the owner, would make me look amazing. I was initially nervous, but felt at ease and excited after meeting Bob and the rest of the staff. I stopped in a few days before my appointment and Bob met with me for half an hour just to examine my coloring and facial features to come up with a customized look just for me. After my appointment, I was blown away by what I saw in the mirror. My friend was right, I looked better than ever! Bob is an amazing artist and has a gift for understanding colors and shapes and coming up with a look that is beauty-enhancing. What is more amazing is the fact that I have not needed a trim since my first visit, my cut looks fresh and new, my hair is healthy, and I get more compliments than ever!! I now refuse to let anyone else come close to my hair. Bob is simply a genius and does wonders, which is particularly impressive to someone like me who has lived with incredibly curly and unamanageable hair her whole life! You will also love the friendly staff and the large selection of excellent products! more

I have been going to Transcend for about a year and a half. Kristine came highly reccommended to me when my old stylist cancelled on me a week before my wedding. I was terrified, but Kristine fit me it, calmed me, and gave me exactly what I wanted to have my perfect wedding hair. I've been going to her ever since. She always takes her time and makes sure I'm happy. The service well exceeds the prices. more

WHILE I WAS WALKING DOWN HILLHURST I SPOTTED TRANSCEND SALON, AND DECIDED TO WALK\r IN. I HAD NEVER EVEN SEEN THE SALON BEFORE AND I'VE LIVED IN THE AREA FOR YEARS. \r THE FIRST THING THAT CAUGHT MY EYE WAS THE VAST ARRAY OF HAIR PRODUCT, AND TOP NOTCH\r PRODUCTS AS WELL!! THEY HAVE PRODUCTS THAT ARE HARD TO FIND, AS WELL AS PRICED VERY REASONABLE.. I HAD SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE, THAT I DECIDED TO GET A HAIRCUT FROM \r BOB, THE OWNER OF THE SALON. WE HAD GREAT CONVERSATION, A FEW SNACKS, AND AWESOME\r TEA!!! MY HAIRCUT WAS THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD!!! I 'VE RECOMMENDED SEVERAL FRIENDS AND \r ASSOCIATES OF MINE ... I went to Transcend salon to just get a blowout at a salon that looked professional and was close to my home. WHAT A MISTAKE.\r \r I found this place on Citysearch and requested the owner from what I had read in reviews here. My appointment started with him telling me he doesn't usually ""do blowdrys"" even though they had taken my appointment the day before.\r \r Then he sat me in his chair for 1 HOUR!!!!!!!!! gossiping to me about his so-called celebrity clients -about their personal lives and sexual escapades (although judging from his work, I doubt they are his clients).\r \r He proceeded to criticize my posture, tell me he knew everything about me from looking at me, and say that he would not do hair on someone that didn't agree with what HIS vision of what their hair should look like, and wouldn't let him do what HE thought was right. (Boy was I glad I didn't allow him to take scissors to my hair).\r \r At the end of the ordeal, he did a terrible blowout that he then had to go over with a flat iron - something I could have done myself at home, and then charged me $50 for the disaster, saying he was going to 'cut me a deal"" this one time.\r \r DON'T GO HERE. You have to come see Bob. He rocks !!!\r If you want an awesome cut and color and a fun time book an appointment at Transcend Salon in Los Feliz. Very friendly people and a hip interior. This place is STYLE!! more

I have curly, frizzy hair and have been looking for my whole life for a place that makes it look decent. Finally, I found Bob at Transcend, who changed everything. He's the only stylist I've ever had that gave me a cut that works with my face and my style. Oh, and it looks incredible too. If you're looking for a custom made cut that's right for you, I suggest you give Bob a try. more
