Worst

Wow, we're talking expensive. $150.00 per couple including wine. That kind of money will get you better service, food and atmosphere elsewhere. Try it, but as I was told before ""...

Absolute crap 7/17/2002

The food was WAY too expensive for what you got and the service was painful. We were sure our server was going to show us how to drink water. My salad consisted of iceberg lettuce and mushrooms. Our server looked at us like we were nuts when my fiancée asked about vegetarian dishes. This place is nothing but a chain restaurant masquerading as fine dining. Cons: Expensive, Chain Restaurant, Cheesy more

Reformed? 7/9/2002

I just finished dinner at the Melting Pot and had the most wonderful service. The server started out by giving us a feedback form and the manager stopped by to ask how everythign was going. It seems as though they've read these reviews and are taking steps to correct any problems. I would highly recommend this place although it is a little more expensive than mentioned in the review. more

The second time is even better! 7/9/2002

I heard about this place on the radio awhile ago (KISS 106 to be exact) and went with my ex boyfriend for an anniversary. We loved it!! Not only the service, food, and atmosphere, but the idea of making our dinner. It was very romantic. It is a bit spendy, but I thought it was worth every penny. I liked it so much that my current man and I went there on our first date, and a year later we plan on going back again soon! Pros: not too loud, private Cons: a little too dark, parking more

Why all the Bad Reviews? 7/3/2002

After reading so many bad reviews, my wife and I went to the Melting Pot last Saturday with great trepidation expecting rude, horrible service and lousy food. We found the exact opposite! The service was some of the best of any place I've ever dined. The hostess was friendly, our server was very congenial, knowledgeable and attentive. All the food was great, especially the fondue, salad and desert. While this is definitely a novelty restaurant (cooking your own entree at the table is pretty unique), and not the kind of place one would frequent plus a bit on the expensive side, we give it a rating of TWO FONDUE FORKS UP! Pros: good service, good food, good martinis Cons: expensive more

Everyone should go at least once 5/27/2002

I've eaten at The Melting Pot 4 or 5 times, and have had a GREAT time each time. By far the hardest thing to do is save room for dessert, but I heartily encourage restraint in the early parts of your meal so that dessert is attainable! Be warned - it is pricey. I don't go often, usually only for special occaisions. Pros: Great food, Great service, Dessert! Cons: Expensive more

So Yummy!!!! 5/27/2002

My friend and I went there on whim on night for dinner and we had an absolute fabulous time (we were there for almost 4 hours!)The food was delicious and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. It is a bit pricey, but well worth the money. The desserts are awesome. Be warned: wear layers. After sitting by the burner for hours, it was very warm! Pros: Desserts Cons: Expensive more
