Restaurant Zoe has moved and lucky me, right across the street! I just had the most amazing meal, awesome service and great dessert. Citysearch is slow on the update, but the ne...

Having heard great reviews of Zoe, I tried it out with some friends during the Dine Around Seattle 30 for $30 special. Dinner got off to a promising start with a nice glass of ho...

One of Seattle's Best 9/29/2005

We've been to Zoe 6 or 7 times and keep going back - we've never had anything but an outstanding experience here. Service is consistently prompt and professional, the menu is outstanding, and it has a great Belltown ambience. The food is a Northwest interpretation of Italian, using local ingredients. The focus on fresh ingredients and inventive updates of traditional Italian cuisine make for a sumptuous dining experience (the large raviolio and octopus appetizers are two of our favorites). What's more, the owner/chef routinely works the floor to ensure that you're having a great meal. We'll definitely be back, again and again. Pros: Food, Ambience, Staff more

Good food, variable service, laughable wine list 9/8/2005

I've been to Zoe a few times now. The food is generally very good, but the service is variable, and the wine list...well, bring your own bottle and pay the $15 corkage fee. I've studied the wine list pretty extensively and most of the wines are not very special, even at the > $60 range. Some, like the '93 Chianti, are laughably overpriced, and way past their prime (and it wasn't a very good wine even in its prime). I do like the atmosphere probably more than anything at the restaurant. The service - well, I once arrived shortly after opening, and although there were no customers in yet, had to wait a while to be seated, wait a while for bread, wait some more to order (by now it's been 20 minutes), and then wait, wait, wait, until I had to literally jog to make the symphony on time. Pros: food Cons: wine list more

A real winner 8/31/2005

Restaurant Zoe is my new favorite restaurant, and I will tell you all why. Besides the fact that the food is incredible, wine menu on point, and ambience perfect, the service is by far the best I have ever received. Nathan, our server, was very informative and professional, the owner/chef stopped by to say hello, and the extremely versatile and gregarious hostess (austin?) continually put a smile on me and my husbands face. Dining at Zoe is truly a treat, and I hope everyone has the opportunity to experience this sensational belltown restaurant. Pros: food, hostess/server, location Cons: parking, small bar more

Can't come often enough! 8/30/2005

If we lived in town we'd certainly be regulars. With every visit we come away more amazed at both the outstanding food and awesome service. Especially wonderful that the chef comes out and personally checks with his diners -- an easy job I'd say. It's all so good! Everyone rants and raves and his friendly neighborhood approach is appreciated as the line often snakes out the door for mid-week dinner. The food presentation and quality rivals any restaurant in New York City or San Francisco. Maybe better. Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere more

Always Love it! 7/11/2005

Everytime we go, we are impressed. The drinks are wonderful, the food is delicious, great ambience, and excellent service. We especially like to sit at the bar because the bartender is awesome; providing quick, professional service, and mixes wonderful drinks. I wish we could afford to dine every night! more

Only at Zoe 6/26/2005

This is the restaurant of choice for me in Seattle. The food is great, starting from the foccacia bread, to the ravioli appetizer, to the kobe beef entre, to the sinful deserts. If you are in town for one night, Zoe's is the ONLY place to bring someone. It has the ambience, the service and good food. I have been there at least twice a year (due to my pocket book) for the last 3 years and have never been disappointed. Oh, and the owner always check up on you about the service. Whats not to like. more

Restaurant Zoe: Best in Seattle 6/9/2005

This is THE best in Seattle..hands down. From chef Scott Staples amazing, seasonal, organic, delicious menu that never ceases to amaze us, to the fantastic staff and crew. We eat here as often as we can, and always feel like we are treated like family. The manager is beyond kind and always accomodating to parties of 2 or 30. The waitstaff is the best in the city. They take the greatest pride in Zoe and the food that is served. We recommend it to everyone from in-town to out-of-towners and try to bring as many people here as possible to experience the cuisine and atmosphere. They also do special dinners with wineries or local organic farmers and they are educational and delightful. We love to eat out, and do quite frequently in Seattle and our travels. Zoe remains one of our absolute favorites. Pros: Cuisine, Staff, Location more

Don't be fooled, this place stinks 5/22/2005

So, I used to love Zoe, about two years ago. But don't be fooled: This is not the same place. The last two times we went, we had reservations but waited more than half an hour (the second time, we just left). They couldn't have cared less. For these prices, you're not only paying for food, but also for service, and it's just terrible. Come on, people: Put this sham of a restaurant out of business -- they don't deserve to be successful. Cons: Service more

ultimate package 3/16/2005

I had the pleasure of dining at restaurant zoe on 3/16/05. The food is perfectly portioned, serfvice impeccable, and overall ambience was warm and welcoming after a long commute. The most impressive thing was how they handled themselves concerning a 45 minute wait for those of us who had reservations. We were already 15 min. late for our 7:30 res, and did not get seated until 8:15!! This sort of thing can ruin a night out, but not at zoe. Consistently attentive and updating us on the progress of our table, I was most impressed with how the host and hostess handled this less than ideal situation. I LOVE RESTAURANT ZOE!!!! Pros: appetizers, wine list, friendly staff! Cons: wait, small dinind room, small bar more

great service, highly disappointing food and wine 3/12/2005

I had their $25 3 course prix fixe menu + wine and grilled octopus starter. The octopus was cooked perfectly and had a good mix of spices rubbed on it. The celeriac soup was decent but smelled of pungent raw herbs. Sauteed tilapia was extremely salty and sour--totally unbalanced flavors that were unevenly distributed and way too strong. The lemon polenta cake dessert was very dense, tasted like lemon flavoring and still smelled like dough. The waiter claimed to have tried more than 80 of their 135+ wines and said if I didn't like his recommendation, he'd bring another glass on the house. The shiraz had a horrible lingering bitter finish and aftertaste. The merlot, had a downright sour finish. The third, a Steele zinfandel tasted like a cheap supermarket cabernet sauvignon and cost $23. Pros: ambiance, service Cons: food, wine more

consistantly good 1/17/2005

Very romantic dinner place, service attentive to my wish for ""privacy"" during meal, keeps me coming back. Pros: wine list more
