A Solid Bar 7/25/2002

(went on a thurs) The first thing to be mentioned was the flawless music, a mix of the best songs the mid-20's crowd can relate to. Prices were normal prices ($5 mixed drinks), the service was great. All in all, a good happy hour place with potential for a great night. Good guy/girl ratio as well. more

Not worth it 7/25/2002

I can see why people would be drawn to the rooftop bar but seriously, this place sucks. I went for a co-worker's going away party and the bouncers were absolute jerks at the door, it was so crowded (with cheesy people looking to hook up), and there was actually a line and a 30 MINUTE WAIT just to get up to the roof. You had to put your name on a list and wait 30 minutes...and that's where the party was! Guess who didn't wait around... Pros: Cool rooftop, Good spot after work Cons: Staff with attitude, Crowded, Lame Crowd more

The roof bar at Sutton Place is a one of a kind in Manhattan. My friends and I always have a great time and will continue to go there. The staff is attractive and courteous. A Beautiful Meat Market 6/23/2002

Good times! Tons of people, yes really tons of them. The good thing is that most of the crowd is very attractive. The roof is the hot spot of the clear summer nights, gettin up there could be a problem due to the massive demand. All-in-all, its a good place to party and meet people. more

What's not to like the crowd is good looking, the service is fast and there is a bar in every room. Not to mention there are three floors!! There is something in this bar for everyone and you are guarenteed a good time. Pros: good crowd more

How could this place possibly be one of the 10 best in the city to watcht the finals? Oh wait, ""watch"" the finals, not listen to the commentary. This is not a sports bar--it's a bar with sports on tv. There's never sound for the games, the drinks are weak, the food sucks, and there is ALWAYS attitude. Best analogy I can think of is that it's run by a group of people who probably had a bitter college experience and are now trying to emulate all the things that they missed out on. Problem is that they've ruined a very good space with their totally unnecessary bouncers and pointless waits. As a neighbor of this place, I think I'm going to add my name to the list asking them to be rezoned. They should not --it where they eat! Pros: not too expensive, can't ruin beer, nice roof Cons: ATTITUDE, bad food and cocktail, wanna be clientelle more
