No Thunder Cats Shirts! 9/9/2002

I went to this place last weekend and the ugly bouncer at the door wouldn't let me in cuz my T-shirt had print on it. I was wearing a thunder cat shirt how the hell u deny that??? Anyway, I went back the following week and wore something more ""aporpriate"" for their standards and expected to have a good time. It was BEAT! Aside form the drinks being resonably priced there is absolutly no reason to step foot inside. Music was just totally UCK! The atomosphere was actually pretty cool I can't front. But def not a repeat place. Try to avoid if you can. Unless u use it as a jump off spot and get totally wrecked there and then go down the block to a better spot. Pros: Cheep Boos, Outdoor Terrace Cons: Silly Dress Code, Crowded, Ugly People more

the rooftop terrace is a beautiful spot, but overall the bar is full of fake, pretentious types. and don't try to wear a baseball cap inside! give me a break--it's just a bar! more

Sutton Place is located in a great bar area in NYC. Definitely a fun bad, and the the rooftop is great, but generally overcrowded. Big plus - they serve food late night. Pros: Late night food, fun atmosphere Cons: crowded, expensive more

No Place Like It! 8/20/2002

If you are looking for a place to grab a drink with friends after work, there is no better place to go than Sutton Place. The atmosphere is excellent, and the terrace allows you to be outside with out the headachs of New York City traffic and noise. The service is great, and there are pleanty of rooms to satisfy all patrons. Whether it be a Monday night or a Friday night, THere is No Place Like it if you just want to relax or have fun (not to mention the GREAT looking people)! more

Mixed Feelings 8/19/2002

Met some friends here for drinks after work. Kinda pricey, but really cute place, especially up on the roof. The place was packed and crawling with yuppies fresh from the office, but everyone kinda kept to their own groups. Would have been nicer had it been a little more low key after a long day, but a good time just the same. Ages ranging from fresh out of college to 40-something business types. Pros: Good for after-work, Rooftop bar is great Cons: Too Crowded, Expensive more

This place sucks, even for the east side. Totally B&T, even the bouncers! Turned down attractive females and let in the lesser of the pickings judging from the unattractive crowd inside. OVERPRICED drinks- expensive for the area AND they're watered down. Horrible service, everything! Too bad a rooftop bar isn't utilized on a cool crowd and bar. Pros: uhhh none Cons: bouncers, crowd, li trash more

If you dont want to spend a lot of money stay on the first two floors. The roof is the place to be but is also requires that you spend an extra 2 bucks for a beer or drink. The crowd thinks they are better looking then they really are. You will run into people that you havent seen in the longest time but you wont be able to hear what they are saying because of the amount of people standing in every corner of the bar. Have fun and bring your credit card. more

A Solid Bar 7/26/2002

(went on a thurs) The first thing to be mentioned was the flawless music, a mix of the best songs the mid-20's crowd can relate to. Prices were normal prices ($5 mixed drinks), the service was great. All in all, a good happy hour place with potential for a great night. Good guy/girl ratio as well. more
