What are the idiots at the door of this place thinking. No white t-shirts? This is the year 2003 and I think this is the only place you can't wear a white t-shirt to. A brown t...

Not bad 12/16/2006

Stopped in for some drinks late on a Saturday night - the place wasn't too packed, just right. Great music, pretty lively - would definitely come back. Pros: Good location, cute place more

GREAT BAR 9/18/2006

Sutton Place is a GREAT BAR. It's a sports bar with good music, a great roof deck, and a great spot to throwback a few on a Thursday or Friday night and catch the games on Sunday. I have spent many good nights at Sutton Place, and the crowd is typically very friendly and social and there to hangout and drink and have a good time. There are a lot of people that confuse Sutton Place with something other than what it is. It's not Chucky Cheese and it's not Pizza Hut and therefore not a place to bring your 3 month old son in a stroller on a Sunday afternoon, week 2 of the NFL season. I suggest to the guy who thinks that this is a good idea - spend more time evaluating your parenting skills and less time evaluating Sutton Place. Pros: Great Bar more

Unbelievable 9/17/2006

I've been going to Sutton Place for years on a frequent basis including just about every Sunday during football season. I just had a work party there for about 50 people last thursday and tons of money was spent on a what would normally be an empty bar on a rainy thursday afternoon. One of numerous work parties i've thrown there over the years. So i think i've been a pretty good customer to them. A bunch of my friends were down there on Sunday as usual whatching football and my wife went down to meet everyone for lunch with my three month old son. The bouncer told her that she couldn't come into the bar. Then when she asked the disgusting rude fool why..... he said they don't allow strollers because it's a bar. When my wife asked if they were a restaurant he said no we are a bar. He then refused to allow her to speak with a manager. Unfortunately i wasn't there when all this happened but i will never step foot in that place again. Now don't get me wrong i'm not in the business of bringing my baby to bars but this was Sunday afternoon to meet some friends for lunch at was is clearly advertised as a Restaurant and Bar. It was also not that crowded with plenty of room for a stroller and she would never have gone in otherwise. There are plenty of other places in this city. I hope they get raped for every penny in their current legal situation. Maybe they should way their fat slob of a bouncer, he looks like he ate a couple waitresses. Pros: I'm going to miss that Cheese Steak but i'll never go back Cons: The bouncer on Sunday more

Here's one for the NY Post... 9/17/2006

I have been going to Sutton Place every Sunday for three seasons of football, as well as many other times for various sporting events, to sit on the roof deck, etc. And here's why I'll never go back...My friend came to meet me (and some others) there for lunch yesterday with her young son in his stroller. She was not allowed even into the vestibule of the restaurant. Not only wouldn't the bouncer help her in the door, he looked at her with obvious contempt and told her that she wasn't allowed in with a stroller. Nevermind the fact that last season I was there on two seperate occasions when this same behemoth of a man let in another friend with her child in a stroller to eat lunch, as well as last Sunday when I saw two young girls and thier father eating lunch here. When we told him there was plenty of room by our table for the stroller, he then changed his mind and said that in fact the reason he wouldn't let her in was that they wouldn't allow babies. Clearly this is a man with a huge regard for consistency. Is it not called Sutton Place RESTAURANT and Bar? (In fact they advertise thier brunch specials) He was incredibly rude and dismissive, wouldn't allow us to speak to a manager and was obviously desperately trying to protect the place's image as a meat market den of discrimination, full of a bunch of pigs who can't get the girl on thier own so they have to oggle at and grope the trashy waitresses. Bottom line, it's beyond poor judgement at this point. The one thing this place seems to be consistent about is the fact that they are neanderthals. See ya never. Pros: My team won two Sundays in a row Cons: Boorish behavior on MANY levels. The place was getting a little B&T anyway... more

Great place to watch football 9/17/2006

I was there last weekend for Sunday football and had an awesome time. The bar offers lots of different games at once, on various TV's. It also has a wide selection of bar food. Perfect place to go for any game! Pros: Great Football viewing place more

I was there last week on a sunny day and it was incredible. As a single guy, I must tell you this is the place to go to meet single women. My co-workers and I had a great time and the Bartenders were cool. I'll go back again and highly recommend it! more

Great Bar 9/12/2006

The bar is great and I recommend it highly. Its a perfect after-work place to meet friends and the roof is spectacular. GREAT BAR....YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. Pros: Great Rooftop, Lounge and wide selection of drinks/beer Cons: Not cheap, but few places in Manhattan are more

Outstanding Rooftop Terrace and Great Burger!! 9/12/2006

I usually only eat kosher foods but I saw someone order a bacon cheeseburger while I was sitting at the bar and I couldn't resist. Burger could be the best I ever had. If anyone is a baseball fan go to this bar, grab a seat at the bar in front of one of the TVs on the roof, and enjoy the last days of summer outside. Great bar!! Pros: Great Food Cons: None more

BEST OUTDOOR HAPPY HOUR IN THE CITY!!! 9/12/2006

Where else can you grab a beer outside and hang with upscale NYers that work hard all day and play hard all night. The bar staff is very friendly and serve up drinks very quickly. The location is central to all and has 3 levels; the 3rd level is an open rooftop terrace overlooking 2nd Ave and has views of many of New Yorks famous buildings like the Lipstick building and the Citibank tower. And who can forget all the TVs. I recently heard about this bar on TV and in the Newspapers and couldn't wait to check this place out. If you're new to New York and want a place with lots of space and sports, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed!! Pros: Outdoor Bar Cons: Too many steps to get to roof; get an elevator!! :) more
