A month ago Superior moved me and my family to Poughkeepsie, NY. It is a very long haul from Florida to New York. We had to keep our items at Superior Storage for 2 weeks before it could be taken to NY. They did not charge us anything for keeping our things at their storage facitlity. They said the first month is free. This was great!! When my family and I arrived in NY, the guys from Superior arrived the next day. The driver called us the day before to let us know around what time he would be there. This made me feel really comfortable that the driver called and spoke with me personally from his cell phone. It also allowed my family to be out of the house by the time the movers arrived. It did take 7 hours to unload all of our items, but we did have a lot of things! A couple of our dining room chair legs were scratched and I pointed this out to the movers immediately when I saw it. The men apologized and the mover in charge called Superior's office on his cell phone. I was able to speak to the manager. He told me they would send a furniture repair man out to see if the damage could be fixed or if it had to be replaced. I have waited to write this post to see if this company was actually going to go through with what they promised me. Suprisingly, the furniture repair man did show up, and was able to fix the scratches on my dining room chairs. I have to say that this made me think very highly of this company. It would have been easy for them to have left and never even thought twice about my chairs, but they did not do that. They had the damage fixed when I was available, and it did not cost me a penny. I would use this company in the future if my family and I move again. more

I did a local move a couple of weeks ago and this was my first time using this company. My experience from the start was very good. The girl in the office, Lauren, was very friendly and informative. I called a lot asking questions, and she was never rude to me or short with me. This made me feel confident that my move was going to go well. The day of my move the crew arrived on time. There were 3 guys and they were all so nice. They handled our items very carefully. I was very specific about certain items, as they are antiques, and the guys listened to my requests and moved my items with caution. These items are irreplaceable, so thankfully nothing happened to them! When we arrived at the new house, the guys put all my boxes in the rooms that I labeled on them. This was so great because I didn't have to carry any boxes to any room! They put all my beds back together. I started unpacking while the guys were bringing the big furniture in. They offered to take the empty boxes and throw them away for me. The experience I had with Superior was wonderful. I know there are some bad reviews on here that I have read, but my experience was awesome! I would use this company again and I would recommend them to friends or family. more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are truly the worse movers I have ever used. I was told when I signed the contract that they are professional piano movers, LIARS. I watched them drop the piano off the dolly and damage the piano. When I contacted the owner he agreed to come look at the damage. Then he clearly accused me of lying, He said that damage wasnt caused by his guys. We went back and forth for months arguing with them. they now claim they dont receive my claim paperwork. Its been 8 months of fighting with them. Terrible experience. Also the took my kids crib and sons race car bed apart to move and then couldnt put it back together, lost bolts,.Totally rude owners,This was a horrible, exhausting move. now i have damaged furniture and an owner that refuses to handle the claim more

THEIVES AND LIARS! 4/10/2012

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! They moved my Mom's housefull of antiques from Florida to Connecticut. When they finally arrived two weeks late the drivers opened the doors of the van and they were horrified. There was shattered glass everywhere, broken peices of furniture scattered around and smashed, crushed boxes everywhere. They even used the antique sofa cushins as padding between the bedframes. When contacted they denied any responsibility. According to them it was all my fault. We are now filing a lawsuit. AGAIN...DO NOT USE THESE NASTY PEOPLE! THEY DESERVE A MINUS TEN RATING AND NOTHING MORE!!! more

Lies, Fraud & Theft 3/22/2012

DON'T believe anything the sales person tells you. The quoted price given to me was increased by over $500 after they had all of my belongings in their possession with no proof of why the increase. The delivery date was changed 4 times before it was actually delivered. Many of my possessions were broken and destroyed. Do not believe anything that is said to you - Period. You have been warned. Please don't use this company. I was moving from Florida to Ohio and I am so upset at the destruction of my tables and other items, the lies that were told to me concerning when they would arrive and the over charging above what was initially quoted to me. The office staff simply says file a report. I will be reporting them to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and seeing if their is any legal action I can take. I wish I could give them a -5 stars instead of the 1 star I am forced to give them more

former employee 3/15/2012

I am a former employee of this company who now works with one of the major van lines. The negative reviews on this company are no doubt real experiences but most likely blown WAY out of proportion. Every move does not go perfectly. Sometimes as a result of poor comunication between the customer and mover. Ask questions. Read all paperwork that you are asked to sign. and if you are not comfortable with the movers who show up call the company and ask for a different crew. this may push you back a day but it is worth it. The majority of the guys who work for the company are very profesional and experienced. If you get your estimate over the phone be honest with the person on the phone. If you do not tell them EVERYTHING you will be moveing your price WILL go up. You pay for what they move so if you try to scam them you will be disapointed iin the end. Cant tell you how many move a year that they do but i can tell you that people hardly ever go on line to say anything positive about a company. Comunication is key with any moving experience.. more

Shameful Superior 1/5/2012

Not an oxymoron just a company of morons! I can only describe our move from Florida to North Carolina as the last of many bad experiences in the Sunshine State! --- PLEASE PLEASE read the reviews of this company. Every negative posting contains issues we also experienced and each positive rating looks fake! First they quote moves over the phone. Lauren and the other one act like they're your good buddies and then they give a lowball estimate. They say they are going to hold your credit card number and charge but ""bang it"" for a charge immediately. --- Then the move. We had Frank as the coordinator. He was a sad sack that you start to have compassion for until he starts to get confused in his own stories. The packers are hackers that among many other things placed an antique bowl in a box with a barbell! It sounds like a joke but they did that without putting any packing in with it. The bowl was priceless, now in 3 pieces. --- Each item I expressly asked them to protect; they broke! It was like a surreal joke. Most of our stuff is still in storage and I can only imagine what we'll find when we dig it out in 4 months. --- Yes, they ""bumped"" our move by $3000 then tried to bump it another $3000. I was able to have them place all of the belongings in the storage unit before signing off on the move. I locked the unit then went over to the driver and his charming helper. He handed me a stack of papers and a charge slip for the additional $3000. I took the charge slip and left them. --- they came back to my house, after getting their trailer stuck for the second time (I paid for a wrecker the first time) demanding that I sign the paperwork. I told them to get off my property. --- I protested the first $3000 charge. The credit card company found in Superiors favor and returned documents from them with my signature that were CLEARLY FORGED. --- I don't have the energy to go further against them. Maybe there are more than a few lessons in this experience. Nothing new when it seems to easy, sounds to good to be true: it is! Store your treasures in heaven where moths and rust can't destroy them, people can't steal them. -- And finally the lesson I learned about Superior Moving of Pompano Beach; IF THEIR MOUTHS ARE MOVING THEY'RE LYING! more

After several ""miscommunications"" the truck showed up a day late. The driver asked me to tell the company if they called that there were three men when there were two. He also asked me not to tell the company that his girlfriend was there. Because there were only two men it took two days to move my things. They were not careful and very messy. more

Before i beging please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Don and im a grower in central Fl.Call me a sucker for pain. I have been using this company for the last year. I have watched the Company pull in and out of my locations with no issues. Being a large company myself I feel I must defend them. In any business that deals mostly with home owners you will find complaints. Some are correct and some are from disgruntel people that simply didnt get their way. I think alot of these reviews may be that. According to public records that i pulled on Superior, to make sure they can haul my goods worth 100k per load i found this to be a sound company. Last year alone Superior Moving and storage of Pompano Beach Fl sevred just under 6000 YES 6000 customers. If we do the math this company has better ratios then star bucks, mc d's, walmart, and the white house! How can one company make every customer happy?? YOU CANT! This company has gone the extra mile to help me get my produce to stores during freezes, storms , u name it. I think its very unfair to sit and write negative reviews soley on some things out of anybodys hands. Ok your truck got there late. Was the driver supposed to break the law and not pull and rest as the DOT states they must? One of your items was broke. Have you never dropped something? They want cash on delivery. Would you want to transport something in a truck that cost $1.10 a mile to operate 2500 miles just to find out the customer gave you a bum check? Come on now people lets be real. The internet is a useful tool to expose true frauds and scammers. To attack a company that provides a service many of you guys would never do in a lifetime is plain wrong. Lets stop the hateful tones for the new year and all be grateful there is peole out here that want to do the grunt work so we dont have to.... Please read your contract very carefully and do not take their word on anything. Get everything in writing down to the most minute detail. Do not let them leave your home until you have unpacked everything you think could be damaged. Make them mark it on the inventory, make a copy and take pictures. Don't fall for the""take your time you have 60 days to file a claim"". Be aware that everyone in this company is lying to you. Every single one of them. Do not give them a penny in cash. The only recourse you may have is with your credit card company. THIS COMPANY IS UNAMERICAN. THEY HAVE MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES MOVING OUT OF STATE FOR JOBS AND SUPERIOR RIPS THEM OFF. The only reason why I gave them 1 star is because 0 stars wasn't an option. This company is filled with the rudest, most unprofessional liars I've ever come across in my life. They are nothing but a bunch of scam artists. If you value your belongings and your sanity, RUN - don't walk! - away from this company. We contracted them for a move from Florida to Nevada in August. LAUREN gave us one story after another. First, the original delivery date was 3-5 days when my husband agreed to the estimate. LAUREN then called and said that it would be 5-15 days until delivery. 15 days later, there were still no movers. LAUREN gave us every story in the book. First, our belongings were in South Florida (our point of pickup was North Florida). Then our belongings were in Virginia on their way to Massachusetts. Then our belongings were in the Carolinas on their way to Georgia. LAUREN lied so much, she couldn't even keep her story straight. We were told one delivery estimate after another when my husband would call. At first, it was the beginning of the week. Then it was the end of the week. Then it was the weekend. THIRTY-ONE DAYS AFTER DELIVERY, the moving truck finally showed up. This was AFTER our weight went from 4500 to over 6000 pounds. Apparently our belongings just mysteriously gained pounds, even though the driver who originally loaded the stuff in Florida said it ""couldn't weigh more than 4000."" By the end of the debacle, Superior wanted to charge us DOUBLE our original estimate. I called LAUREN to complain when it was 31 days later and still no delivery. She was the rudest, most unprofessional smart aleck you could ever possibly come across. She also refused to let me speak to ANTHONY, their apparent GM/owner. After LAUREN hung up on me, I called back to get STACEY, who originally seemed decent enough until she too followed the typical Superior protocol - they think even though their service sucks they are ""superior"" to everyone else. I could have hired trained pigeons to deliver the belongings quicker than them, and the pigeons would have been more pleasant to deal with! The ONLY positive in this entire nightmare was the men who came to unload the belongings. They were professional and pleasant - they were urged to find better employers, since if this is how Superior treats customers, I'd hate to see how they treat employees. Unsurprisingly, we did have damage to some of our furniture, but that was probably from the who knows what conditions it was exposed to while it was who knows where for over a month. Oh, I forgot to mention - they offered to knock $100 off our remaining balance. What a joke! Because that really makes up for the 31 days we were without our items. Oh, and paperwork? HA! They make up and lie their way on the papers they do give you, neglect to give you papers they're LEGALLY REQUIRED TO by FEDERAL LAW and then pretend they're an ethical business. I wouldn't even recommend this company to my worst enemy. I've never come across a more incompetent group of imbeciles in my life, although they definitely have quite a scam going on. SUPERIOR = $CAM ARTISTS. Do yourself a favor - find anyone but this horror story of a company to do business with! more
