We recently moved from South Philadelphia to the Far Northeast and had a great experience with Superior Moving and Storage. Rob, Spider, and Matt arrived right on time, and were professional and pleasant. We had some antique furniture and very heavy pieces which were handled with the utmost care. They even went so far as to ensure they did not track any dirt in the house since we just had the hardwood floors done. They went above and beyond, even going as far as rearranging some pieces when I was unhappy with the layout, and they offered to put the bed together too. This is the third time I have used Superior, and would highly recommend them, especially the team of Rob, Spider, and Matt. Pros: Service, professionalism, timeliness, price Cons: Not much is covered by the insurance, but everything always arrived undamaged more

Great price and a positive experience! I recently moved from PA to upstate NY and the move went fine...better than expected. The guys arrived alittle late, but hey Philly traffic can be tough and it was the hottest day of the summer. The loading crew handled my items as if they were their own, drove them over 6 hours to my new home and then placed everything where I requested. The guys were hard-working, fun, friendly and very easy to work with. They worked tirelessly to get me settled in and really handled my antiques with the care I had hoped for - I was very pleased with the condition of everything once I unpacked. Note: there was some questionable wording on the various contracts if you read them carefully (and I did decide to pay extra for higher insurance coverage), but all in all this is the company I woud use again if I ever had to move. :) Pros: Hard-working, handle items with care and really know how to pack a truck well Cons: None really, I felt bad they were moving so much stuff in blistering heat and humidity! more

These guys are the best! Made arrangements with Joe who sent three of the best guys you'd ever want to meet! Took care of my furniture like it was their own. Moved from a third floor apartment to a second floor apartment both with no elevators on the hottest day this year. No complaints from the movers. They just took care of business! Price was less than my estimate. Will use again for sure. Pros: Sent Professional movers at great price Cons: that I didn't use them for my first move! more

I was very hesitant to use them, but their price beat everyone. A friend had used them and said they were great. Our experience: They showed up earlier than requested, which was OK. We had a crew of 4. They were affable and answered questions. I thought they were very professional and fun even. They packed everything securely. On the move-in, a box slid into a glass panel on our entertainment center, breaking the glass. Though I had purchased insurance, the guys talked me into not using it (likely they'd get in trouble) and said glass panels for that were cheap (sort of true, thought not as cheap as they said. Later I felt a little stupid for not reporting it, but I did feel at the time that these were nice guys and I didn't want to get them in trouble. So the movers were a good group. \r \r Now the company...they told us when we hired them they would not charge extra to move our piano. When settling, I forgot about that and he added $75 for that (he said that was half price). I also noticed later that, though they charged me the additional price/hour for the insurance (as requested) they also checked off ""customer declines insurance"" on my contract. \r \r SO I guess it depends on the crew you get. I hired these movers only after reading some good reviews online. The manager was also very persistent in constantly calling us and trying to persuade us to use his company. We finally agreed...that proved to be a very bad decision. They came 2 hours late and did not apologize. They were extremely rude and unprofessional. When they got to our apt, they saw our furniture and decided that we had ""too much stuff"", and we called their manager. I explained that we had arranged a price based on a 1 BR apt...we only had 1 couch and no bedroom furniture except for a mattress. After much haggling, they abruptly LEFT without any explanation! They just said ""too bad""...they said they couldn't fit our stuff in the truck so they weren't going to do the job (I later found out that they were trying to squeeze our furniture in with someone else's in the same truck, so they could consolidate 2 moves and make extra money). The manager Mark did not apologize at all and said ""good luck finding someone else""...this is the same guy who called us 5 times trying to convince us to go with his company.\r \r I have now heard similar stoies from other customers. Long story short...DO NOT USE SUPERIOR MOVING......horribly rude, unprofessional, unreliable, unethical and flat-out crooks. You will definitely regret it if you do. I hired them to pick up and store my furniture for a month. When it was time to pick up my stuff, I was planning to use the movers to deliver it to my personal garage. As soon as I walked into the office, I relayed my intentions. Then I was asked if I voted, which was very unprofessional and unrelated. I said yes, but will not disclose who I voted for. he asked if I voted for GWBush, and I said no. He (I think was the owner, because he later proclaimed that he was rich and became affluent by working) started spewing out insults and called me a socialist and how I should not support black people who are dependent on welfare and continued to spurt out various social issues. He later called his workers to confirm his notion of people abusing the welfare system by having additional children. So there I was, surrounded by bunch of men yelling at how horrible I am for not voting for George W. I really didn't care, only stated my opinions of GWBush and continued to press my intention of being there. Then he said, ""you're a typical liberal always asking for help, well you can suc# my c^%#."" Then he kicked me out. So I left appalled without my furniture. I am a young 5'2"", asian female & I went to the establishment with my mother who doesn't speak english. I had to explain to her what had happened because she was confused throughout the whole process. I rented a U-Haul truck & went back after the tension alleviated and told him that I wanted my furniture. I moved and packed my furniture, including a fridge (luckily I rented a dollie) with my 60 year old mom into the truck. I should have called the police, but my main agenda was to move my furniture into my garage and I was going to accomplish the task no matter what and calling the police would have exacerbated the situation. I reported them to the BBBr later that day. In addition, my furniture had scratches and dents all over it. They are complete thugs and very unprofessional. Cons: service, attitudes, damaged furniture, they do not give you a key to your storage more

My other company didn't show and they seemed to be my saving grace. But they only sent 2 guys. One just wanted to pack the truck (it was his first move ever with the company) and the other was a hard worker (who complained about the other guy to us). My ex-boyfriend (thank god he came over) and I were moving stuff like we were employees of the company. The move took forever and it was charged by the hour!!! And they scratched a bunch of my stuff. Do NOT use them!!!!!! more

I am writing to make sure no one makes the same mistake as we did... as if moving day is not stressful enough using this company made it unbearable! I can not even get into all the details but from beginning to end this was a bad move---I don't know how they are still in business. Pros: Not one Cons: everything more

If they are the last moving company in the world....carry them on your back first!!!!\r \r They cancelled on me the day of the move for no reason what so ever. I ignored prior bad reviews thinking they were exaggerating. Poor me...I got screwed ROYALLY!!!\r \r DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THEM!!!! Pros: nothing Cons: you won't get moved! more

From the office to the movers, these guys were great. Came out to my house at the last minute after another company didn't show. Handled my antiques with care and the bill was lower then I expected. This is the worst experience I have had with movers. Don't even call them if you are desperate. They agree to one thing and change their minds and they don't send any confirmation regarding the price, time, etc. They have a good sale pitch at the beginning, but don't buy into it. Joe, the manager, is unbelievable and offers no customer service! more
