I have been going to Samuel Cole for several years and have always had good experiences. Recently, I began scheduling my appoinrments with Whitney and have been more than pleased. She always asks for my input and does very skillful work. She has a great personality and is a true professional. My husband had never been to a salon and I referred him to Whitney. Rodney is the BEST!! 9/22/2010

I am so glad that a friend of mine referred me to Rodney. He is truly an artist when it comes to hair. I have never been to a salon where my stylist had a professional portfolio of his/her work. On my first visit, I had the opportunity to view his creations. It was then, that I knew I was in good hands. Rodney was extremely professional and welcoming. His technique was awesome. He literally transformed my hair from frizzy waves into silky straight tresses! more

Michael is fantastic! 9/16/2010

After reading so many glowing reviews on Citysearch, I decided to try Michael Knight. How glad I am that I made that decision! Michael is a true pro who listens to your needs and concerns, teaches you techniques for styling your own hair, and explains everything he is doing, every step of the way. In over 20 years, I have not found another stylist who understands hair so well. If you feel you have ""difficult"" hair, Michael will impress you with his ability to bring out the best in your hair. I have fine, yet thick, hair that is slightly wavy...a combo that always seems to baffle stylists. Michael knew right away just what to do to give my hair volume, take out the unnecessary weight, and give my hair lots of movement. I don't even live in the Triangle but I will be returning to Michael. He is worth the drive! more

Ask for Rodney !!! 9/16/2010

I am so impressed with stylist Rodney Robledo at Samuel Cole Salon. I came in wanting just a touch up on my color and a quick trim. After meeting with Rodney, he educated me on the benefits of the Brazilian Blowout, which actually improves the condition of your hair, makes it smoother, shinier and cuts down on styling products as well as drying time. I decided to go for it and also went with Rodney's suggestion to cut bangs (which I've never had before) and also changed the color. I could not believe how my hair looked when he was finished, I was amazed ! I have honestly never seen my hair look so healthy and stylish. When I went to work the next day some of my coworkers didn't even recognize me after my fabulous transformation. Now they all want to go to Rodney too ! He is truly an artist and can just look at you and know what is going to work best for you. I will definitely be recommending him to everyone I know !!! more

Very Impressed 9/16/2010

I loved my experience at Samuel Cole. Lisa is wonderful. She is very laid back and gave me great ideas on how to style my hair type but was receptive to my opinions and ideas. She showed me exactly how to style my hair while she was doing it. (So hopefully my hair will look just as fabulous tomorrow as it does today!) She informed me about all of the products she used in my hair, but did not pressure me to buy anything. All in all, I had a wonderful experience and I was very pleased with the way my hair turned out! more

Kelli Sintay ~ my favorite stylist!! 9/15/2010

Finally, I've found my forever stylist at a great salon, Kelli Sintay! Always the fickle client, this creative stylist has won me over. I'm afraid to try new things but with Kelli I know she can fit my face and personality perfectly with something fresh and current. I even went for it with the new Brazilian Blowout ~ bye, bye fuzzy bands, hello smooth and shiny hair. Thank you Kelli, you're the best! more

Whitney Heath is AMAZING! 9/15/2010

I have been in the Raleigh area for a while and have had the hardest time finding a stylist I really love! I finally found one! Whitney was wonderful! She has a niche for hair! She gave amazing suggestions, used products that made my hair feel and look great, and made me feel very comfortable. I can't wait to go back for color! more

Michael Knight - Fantastic! 9/13/2010

I have been a client of Jack's for a few years and called recently to make an appointment for a cut and color. I was told that Michael Knight had been recruited to step in for Jack with some of his clients and responsibilities. I was asked if I would like an appointment with him. I'm glad I said yes. Michael was absolutely fantastic! Michael was warm and welcoming and evaluated my hair and talked to me about what I wanted. He answered my numerous questions (patiently and thoroughly) and was attentive from start to finish. Michael suggested changing my hair color to a different tone that was more flattering to my skin and adding subtle highlights. It turned out beautifully. He also gave me a cut that brought lots more volume to my fine hair. more

Very Impressed with Rodney Robledo!! 9/11/2010

I recently asked one of my co-workers where she goes to have her hair done because it just looks so stunning and she mentioned: Rodney Robledo at Samuel Cole Salon. I decided to give him a try and? WOW!! I?m very impressed with the talent and professionalism of this stylist. At all of the other salons that I have tried in Raleigh, I felt like they just ?cut? my hair but this time, I felt special and unique. During our visit, Rodney shared with me his vision with my hair and why I should do it the way he recommended. He ensured me that the cut would enhance my facial features and the new color would create the illusion of MORE hair and movement. Who doesn?t want that? He also started telling me about his experience in Miami?s fashion industry and his portfolio is proof in itself. (Take a look if you have the chance!) I trusted Rodney 100% and I was completely relaxed during the entire appointment. The complementary wine was greatly appreciated. And yet again, who doesn?t want that? Haha! When Rodney finished styling my hair, I couldn?t believe how great it looked! I never thought I could look like a model at 38 years old. (I hope others agree, too.) My haircut is sophisticated but modern and easy to style. The color is unbelievably natural and what a big change it did to my overall image. Rodney?s very talented and a great listener; he knows his industry very well. Just thought I should share my experience with you! Thank you Rodney for moving to Raleigh and bringing all your Miami experience to this growing city. more

Hot New Stylist Michael Knight 9/9/2010

Seriously, run don't walk to this guy! I'm a former client in FL who is so sad. Michael has been my stylist since I was 19, I'm now 43. He does incredible hightlights and color; I'm blonde and I've seen stunning brunettes & redheads in his chair. He's incredibly professional & really listens to you. And I have to say, he is really hot & just a great guy to talk to! He really pampers your hair and believes the most beautiful hair, regardless of the service, is healthy. If you want super sexy, gorgeous hair, this is your dream stylist (Think the easy sexy touchable hair of Jennifer Anniston, although he does incredible short precision cuts too). He can basically do anything w/color and will never dissapoint. While alot of stylists might do ""okay ""or good highlights & color, Michael is exceptional. Even more important than color is his cutting talents. Trust me, I know! Since Michael has been gone (3 mos), I've been through 2 stylists. 1st was okay, 2nd the highlights pretty good, but the cut a disaster; I just scheduled an appnt w/a 3rd stylist to fix the mess the 2nd did w/the cut. Michael is great at both, and I can honestly say, the cut is even more important than the color. It doesn't matter if the color is gorgeous, if your hair doesnt move and flow properly; apparently its alot harder to find someone really talented w/scissors, the way Michael is, than I thought. So I've wasted alot of money since he left FL. I'll settle for a good cut, because I don't think there are many people w/Michael's talent! more

Michael Knight Rocks!! 9/8/2010

I was so nervous coming in to Samuel Cole. I had my hair turned a horrible color by another Raleigh Salon. From my first step in the door I was made to feel at home. The girls up front made sure I had a drink and asked if there was anything else I needed. Michael came right up to me when I came in the salon and gave me the warmest greeting. We had a great talk about all my fears and bad experiences in the last salon. He was such a great Listener. I could tell he was taking in everything I had to say before giving me any options or new ideas. He explained everything in great detail about my options and after we decided together what would be best he went to work. All I can say is perfection. I love my hair. My color is beautiful and my new short hair cut is the best I have ever had. He made sure I had all the products I needed to repeat what he had done and took the time to show me how to do it. I walked out feeling so alive like a new person. I am a fan of Michael's for life and I love Samuel Cole. If you are thinking about a change dont hesitate. Go see Michael now!! more

Disappointing 9/8/2010

Although Samuel Cole has a nice atmosphere and a pleasant, professional staff, I was very disappointed with my haircut. I asked for a classicl bob without any layers but didn't get the precise hair cut I asked for. The hairstylist who cut my hair was very nice and professional, but she didn't produce that end result. Instead of putting my hair up and cutting it in sections on the sides to create that look, she cut it straight across and then cut up and texturized it. I wanted an even, no fuss haircut, but now I have all these layers on the sides and they just want to do their own thing. I would give the stylist five stars on personality, but only two on the haircut. more

Great Salon! 9/3/2010

I moved from New York to Raleigh 4 years ago and have had so much trouble finding an adequate hair Salon here that I would always wait for trips back to NY to get my hair done. I gave a Raleigh salon one more try and luckily it was Samuel Cole! Jessica cut my hair, she is wonderful! I had very long hair and went to a stylish short cut. She was awesome. Everyone at the salon is extremely professional and it's obvious they value their clients! more

Maybe I would've gotten a good haircut, but... 8/31/2010

I called to make an appointment at the (?) acclaimed Samuel Cole Salon. And they asked me something I've never been asked before ~ For my credit card number, so they could charge me half if I didn't give 24 hours notice, or the whole fee if I was a ""no show."" HUH??? I don't appreciate that from my doctor, but only agree because my life is at stake; and now this supposedly great salon actually has a scumbag clientele that is so irresponsible that they don't even show up? Obviously, I don't belong there. If you're a 18-year-old with no class, call this salon...but make sure you have your credit card number handy!!! more

Samuel Cole Salon + Rodney = Great Experience 8/29/2010

I recently made the nerve-racking decision to change salons? As many of us know, changing stylists can be a terrifying experience; but I could not be more pleased. And if you are looking for the same experience, I recommend Rodney Robledo at Samuel Cole Salon in Raleigh!! Because not only was I impressed with the stylist, but the salon and its stellar customer service! Rodney is so personable yet very professional. I tell him how I want my hair cut and color and he has great advice--but even better results. My friends are constantly complimenting my hair and it feels great. Rodney has fixed my damaged hair and has managed to incorporate natural highlights that fit my face perfectly. The products that he has me using on my hair are worth every penny! Thank you, Rodney! I'll definitely be back. more

Carolyn is great! 8/28/2010

I have very long hair that was botched somewhere else last November, and have been growing it out. After reading her review online, I decided to go to Carolyn. Samuel Cole is a beautiful salon, and everyone was very nice, but that didn't stop my nerves. I was scared to have my hair messed up again. As soon as I sat in her chair, Carolyn put me at ease. She really listened to what I wanted, showed me different possibilities, and made some great suggestions that she said would work with my ""face shape"" and ""lifestyle."" She's very experienced, and had an assistant watching her as she cut. That made me more comfortable too. I want someone learning from the person doing MY hair! Then she showed me exactly how to blow dry my long hair. This is the first time I've ever been able to recreate what a stylist did. The products work like she said they would and I don't have to use my flat iron anymore! Bonus! I've gotten more compliments than I ever have. I'm so happy, and will be back! more
