When making an appointment at Samuel-Cole, ask for Kristi Kessler! She is awesome at cutting for your hair type (even for my really curly hair!) and styling the way you like. She makes me feel like a movie star!! Love her! more

As someone who has been dedicated to getting highlights for 10+ years, I have frequented the best salons in NC and even in New York City (including John Barrett Salon), but I have never had a better hair cut (I did not do color this time) IN MY LIFE than the one I received from Nikki Galloni-Kepley at Samuel Cole last week. I cannot say enough good things about her and my first experience at the salon - I went with a head full of dead ends and came out looking like Giselle (and have been able to keep it up even on my own). I have been searching for someone as talented and awesome as Nikki since I moved to Raleigh months ago and feel so fortunate to finally have found her. Not only is she one of the most gorgeous people I've ever met (inside and out!), she is probably the most talented designer I've ever been to and I've seen my fair share of noteworthy stylists. I will not go anywhere else as long as Nikki is there and will travel to see her even if I leave Raleigh. The salon itself was gorgeous and the entire staff was friendly and helpful too. I highly recommend Samuel Cole and Nikki and have been telling all my friends the same! more

Michael Knight is a great colorist. I had my first visit to the salon for a color correction after wearing a color I was not happy with for almost a year. I was a bit apprenhensive since I have a lot of gray/white hair and and wanted to return to a coppery red with subtle highlights. Getting a red shade right can be a bit tricky for some stylists. Michael knew exactly what to do and walked me through each step and what to expect. The staff was nice and the environment relaxing. I look forward to my next appointment where my hair color can only get better with Michael in charge. I highly recommend Michael. Especially for anyone wanting a color change or overall color correction. Please be sure to ask about the cost because it is a bit pricey but I spent almost 4 hours in the salon so it was like paying for two visits for full service to get everything done in one visit. It was worth the price to get back to a color suits me. My next visit will be much shorter and a lot less expensive now that my color is where it should be. Thanks Michael! more

Kristi Kessler is fantastic!! I've always been blonde but past stylists have often given me the chunky highlight look, Kristi makes my color look very natural which I love!! My hair has some wave to it also but I've never really worn it that way because I didn't really know how to. The way it's cut now I'm able to wear my natural wave and Kristi showed me how to style it... I love the Oribe products she recommended to me. Samuel Cole does a great job, everyone is very friendly and accommodating. I've recommended Kristi and the salon to a lot of my friends and everyone has been just as pleased as I am!! more

I highly recommend Michael Knight. Before I moved to Raleigh, I lived in Atlanta where I always had people stop me to ask me who did my hair. That never happened to me in the first four years that I lived in Raleigh...that is until I found Samuel Cole salon and met Michael. Though I have a ton of thick, frizzy hair, Michael works with it so it looks amazing. He consults with me at the beginning of every appointment and provides guidance to give me the best cut and color. We usually switch up the color and cut with the seasons, and I'm always thrilled with the result. Not to mention, I now have people stopping me all the time to ask me who does my hair. The answer is always: Michael at Samuel Cole. more

Michael Knight is an outstanding artist, colorist and cutter! He is passionate and extremely knowledgeable about his craft! He also happens to be an incredibly patient and understanding person. I came to see him with a horrible color and cut disaster as well as being in a very down mood. He was extremely patient and took a very forensic approach in trying to understand as much as he could about what led up to my hair disaster to make the best educated decisions relative to the direction he needed to take to provide me with the best results and to figure out what we should and shouldn't do to save my hair. He gave me the most beautiful color and cut! He also gave of himself with compassion and understanding. My hair looks beautiful. Michael is a wonderful man and artist! more

Carolyn Nord is absolutely fabulous! She immediately made me feel right at home and even started our session with a glass of wine. I wasn't sure what look I was going for but after our consultation, she narrowed down the perfect look. She was funny yet professional and I feel like I've made a new friend. I have been to this salon a few times now and I LOVE it. Carolyn Nord keeps me coming back for more and always knows exactly what I need! This last time I had to go to a formal event and took the time to cut, color, style my hair, and do my makeup. My hair cut and color is gorgeous and the way she styled my hair for the event was absolutely beautiful! Samuel Cole is an amazing salon from walking into the front door to walking out everyone is very friendly, all smiles, and there is the best talent I have seen in this industry by far. I think she is the best hair stylist to go to here and brings a lot of talent and edge to the establishment! I love Samuel Cole and Carolyn is my favorite! more

I also saw Michael. He's so talented. He's a serious professional career stylist, but still friendly! When I booked the appointment, I found out that they have different levels of stylists. Michael is the ""Master"" level, the top. I opted for him because I needed ideas. My hair was drab shoulder length, and now, it's not a lot shorter in length, but it bounces with style as he shaped it all over to work with my own waves. I was glad I didn't have to go a lot shorter to get so much style. He also showed me how to care for it, with or without a lot of prep. I'm going back for color later this week. I'm very glad I went and would recommend Michael specifically. more

When you see Michael Knight at this salon you will truly meet someone passionate about hair. The cut, color and a look that you love! I have never had such an easy time styling my hair until meeting Michael, he teaches about products best suited for me and how to style like I walked out of salon every day. He takes his time discussing what you want from the cut(color) making sure he understands what you want. Please give this salon a try and you will not regret it if you?re lucky enough to sit in Michael?s chair :-) more

apparently the only person who has not had a good experience at the salon was me. take my 4 year old daughter for her to make her first haircut I told the girl of only cut her a little tip, which I had no problem with that,My only problen was when i told her to cut her hair bangs. omg looked like they WERE CUT with scissors to cut meat more

I absolutely love this salon! It has such a great atmosphere and everyone was so nice and welcoming. Kirsti Lilly has done my hair four times now and I will never go see anyone else! She was able to exactly replicate a picture I showed her- it was perfect. Kirsti is great with color and has done almost everything to my hair from highlighting my natural blonde hair to making me a redhead then a brunette. My haircut is always great as well! She really listens to what you want to do with your hair and is always fun to talk to. more

I had a great first-time experience at this salon. I was so warmly welcomed by both receptionists, and there were so many nice touches, from the decor to the coffee. The friendliness of the entire staff was exceptional - warm and welcoming without being overly familiar, snobbish or patronizing. Of course the most important factor was how nicely my hair turned out, and Brooke did an outstanding job. I only went (as a walk-in) because it was absolutely time to get my hair cut. I didn't have expectations higher than that, but I came out feeling so good it lifted my spirits. more

Absolutely amazing experience. This is what a nice salon should be like. From the ease of booking my first appointment (the front desk girls are super duper sweet) to getting an amazing haircut from a stylist who is talented enough to make you walk out saying ""WOW!"" Got my hair colored, glazed, cut and blow dryed by Carolyn for the first time today...and she did a totally amazing job! I just moved to NC about 2 months ago and im so happy I found Samuel Cole Salon. Everyone there is so friendly and professional. The salon is super clean and I'm really impressed by the 'color bar' (the bar area of the salon where you enjoy complimentary wine, beer, coffee, etc. while your stylist applies your color). Not only is Carolyn one of the top stylists in the salon but she is so sweet and gives you really helpful tips about styling your hair and what products will work best for you. I have already made my next appointment with her! I give Samuel Cole Salon 5 stars :) more

Having incredibly long and natural blonde hair, I was extremely hesitant to get more than the simple trim.. even though I knew I wanted a change. [Come on people - after having the same hairstyle for the majority of your life, it's difficult to trust ANYONE with a pair of scissors to your hair] However, Samuel Cole Salon provided an extremely classy and comfortable environment that was professional, yet fun. From the first five minutes I walked in, I could tell that my hair would turn out beautifully. I was relaxed and eager to put my trust in their judgement (which is unlike me when it comes to salons). All in all, It was a great experience and my hair looks HOTT! Thank you Samuel Cole Salon. more

Brooke Newton is a miracle worker! I went to Samuel Cole for a color correction. Before, my hair was brassy, dry, uneven, and had a blue tone left from a henna dye. I was a little embarassed to go anywhere but everyone there was very kind and patient. more
