I read great reviews so throught I'd try this salon. I am not sure if it was a bad day, or if this is the usual mannerisms of the salon, but sadly, my experience was not all that great nor was the service. more

Hidden Treasure! 1/18/2006

I worked right around the corner from Samuel Cole for 2 years and did not know it was there. I am so glad I found it!! I called for an appointment and they fit me in the same day. I was really nervous trying a new place but was ready for the change. Christina was great!! We talked about what I wanted and she was able to do it, no picture needed! A Hidden Gem! 1/13/2006

Being new to North Carolina, I was nervous to experiment with salons to find one that knew how to achieve the cut I was looking for. A colleague recommended Samuel Cole Salon. I was delighted by the results I got! Carly does a wonderful job, and is always very professional. Imagine my delight when my hair looked better than it ever had when I lived in Virginia! Even though I live in Cary, Samuel Cole Salon is worth the drive. I have never had so many compliments on my cut. Wonderful! exceptional service and talent 1/5/2006

I am delighted I fund Samuel Cole Salon. The owners are very nice, professional and talented people and are very selective abut the staff they choose. I typically see Jack, the owner, but I have had several ""emergencies"" when I needed my hair colored immediately and he was not available. The other colorists are well trained and I felt comfortable with them. There is no attitude and no pressure to buy products. But, great products and information. I ALWAYS get compliments on my hair after visiting the salon. Just like any great business, they can get busy. Schedule your appts. in advance to be sure you can get in. A second chance was worth it! 1/4/2006

My first experience with this salon could have been my last. I had a very difficult time with the stylist who attempted to cut and style my hair. I left the place in tears. This had never happened in all the ""several"" years I had my hair styled. However, when I called and Jack, the owner, became aware of my dissatifaction, he and his staff did everything to make it right. Best haircut I've had in years! 12/20/2005

This is the first review I'm written on CitySearch, but just had to recommend this salon and their people. They fit me in an a moment's notice (on a weekend!) and my stylist (Erica) was wonderful. She asked me about myself, my hair, what I wanted - and actually listened. She showed my a better way to blow dry my hair to achieve maximum effect and recommended this great hair thickener. I typicially don't like to spend so much on a haircut, but it was definitely worth it. I've lived in this city for 7 years and have finally found a salon I'll return to again and again! more

Professional High End Service 10/23/2005

Samuel Cole is the best and trust me I have tried them all. They are professional and keep up with all the latest styles. Sarah does my hair and she is fabulous. The great thing about Sarah is she can do it all color, cut, style you name it. Also when I want to do something different she listens and coaches me through all the pros and cons. I have people stop me all the time and ask me who does your hair! Not only is she a great stylish but her personality makes you feel right at home. I cannot say enought about Sarah I highly recommend her and the salon. more

Fantastic all-around 10/14/2005

As I've always been told not to do anything to my red hair, I've been quite a chicken about messing with hairstyle or color over the years. But then I moved to Raleigh and Sara Beard happened. Sara has held my hand and encouraged me to experiment a bit with both and I've loved the results. She gives me a cut with a youthful edge that fits my lifestyle and my facial structure. TERRIBLE COLOR/HIGHLIGHTS 10/10/2005

After reading rave reviews from city search, I made an appointment. After explaining to the stylist I wanted all over highlights a very light almost white blonde color. I picked a piece of hair from my longer length that had been highlighted previously, I ended up with yellow hair two white blonde streaks and touches of red. I will never go to this salon again nor recommend them to anyone. If you have blonde hair DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!!! more

I've never gone to the same salon twice in 15 years, but I already have another appointment at Samuel Cole Salon. The experience was great from beginning to end. When I called for an appointment, the person I spoke to was friendly and helpful. The employees at the salon were exceptionally nice, efficient, and able to make me feel at home. Erica was my stylist. She gave me a great cut and incredible color job. She didn't push product, but was able to recommend when I asked. She even said to call her if I have trouble blowdrying it! The change in color is subtle, but noticeable. My friends and coworkers have been saying, ""You look tan,"" or ""Your hair's really getting longer."" Exactly what I've been searching for! 10/6/2005

This salon is great! The staff is friendly and warm. Erika is amazing!! She was as sweet as could be and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my look and knew how to maintain it at home. She put my fears at ease and made sure I was comfortable through the entire process. I've visited several high-end salons, but none seem to comare to this one. In a day and age when customer service is often disappointing, the Samuel Cole Salon renews hope. Carly, my stylist and one of my favorite people, greets me before I even sit down. She styles my hair in infinite ways. Her nurturing attitude allows her to listen attentively to her clients needs. She also doesn't overlook the details, once offering me a cape when noticing I was cold. She gives a heavenly scalp massage and the only mean thing she has ever said to me was ""Wake up"". The owner, Jack Ray, has an infinite knowledge of current trends and culture and is blessed with a unique personal warmth. Whether you want edgy and modern or clean and classic the salon seeks to meet a tailored look for each client. I defer to Jack for color and cut and have never been disappointed. I can!|t imagine anyone not absolutely loving the entire experience that Samuel Cole Salon provides! To highlight some of the things that come to my mind when I think about my experiences at Samuel Cole:: ? The lighting is very flattering (most places have lighting and mirrors that make anyone look ghastly) ? Sarah has great, thought-out input and suggestions regarding my hair desires ? Her techniques don!|t seem so conventional (and are very effective) ? The conversation is always fun ? The overall ambiance of the salon is superb ? I decided to try Samuel Cole after reading the reviews on City Search, and my experience exceeded the excellent reviews! The staff was incredibly friendly, courteous, and helpful. Sarah did an amazing job with my curly hair, and actually took the time to twirl individual pieces of hair to help set my curls for the day. I will definitely be back! more

I love my hair!! 9/1/2005

I just moved here from the San Franciso Bay area and was apprehensive about trying a new salon. Foruntately they are part of the Bumble and Bumble network, so I knew I couldn't go wrong. I met with Erica for a 15 minute consultation and she put my fears completely at ease. She is professional and has that Southern hospitality that I have heard so much about! I met one of the owners and she was happy to have me as a new client. The receptionist, Kelly, was awesome too! I also received a complimentary parraffin dip on my hands and as much diet coke as I wanted. She matched my color perfectly and gave me a great haircut! I will definitely be coming back!!!! I usually don't go to a salon to get my hair cut but I'm glad that I did. Samuel-Cole's staff was friendly, I was greeted by a young lady named Kellie who provided drinks and candy, and I enjoyed my experience. The best part was that Erica cut my hair just like I would have wanted. She was patient in helping me how to style my hair and reccomended great products. Erica really knew what she was doing! Wonderful Service & Even Better Hair Cut 8/17/2005

It is hard to find a stylist that will cut your hair the way YOU want it, and when you do, you never want to let them go. That is how I feel about Erica. When you walk into the salon it is warm, friendly and inviting. The girl at the front desk will offer you a drink (water, soda, beer or wine) and there are M&M's to munch on in the waiting area. You'll get a wonderful shampoo that will relax you and then a FREE paraffin hand wax while having your hair cut. Erica shows you how to achieve the same look at home, by taking the time to explain how to style your hair. She talks about the product (Bumble & Bumble) and goes into detail about how to hold the brush and hair dryer to get the right look. Go see Erica at Samuel Cole Salon. A Match Made In Heaven 8/15/2005

I have been going to Carly Blinson for three years. Carly is GREAT with color. I love the way she colors and highlights my hair, always changing it around subtly so it doesn't get ""stale"" or ""old."" That's great for people like me who are afraid of drastic changes. But, I've also seen how she has the ability to do funky and fun highlights on the more adventurous staff and other customers. She is a master at blending beautiful color palettes to please each client. And, she is always so sweet and professional! I love the fun atmosphere of the salon and the extras: like drinks and peanut m&m's while I wait, and complimentary paraffin treatments!
