Great Experience thanks to Anna! 7/28/2006

I recently visited Seven for the first time, and loved every part of the experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful! For a salon that is located downtown (or anywhere for that matter), I didn't find the people to be pretentious at all. The atmosphere is so lively and fun - they play great music! The best part of the visit was meeting Anna! She did a fantastic job on my hair (and I am definitely a hard one to please when it comes to my hair). She gave me a cut that really flatters my face, and still took into consideration my thoughts and feelings about it. Personally, I don't know anyone who has had a bad experience at Seven, and I can't wait to go back for my second cut! I highly recommend scheduling your next hair appointment at Seven! more

Seven thumbs down 5/16/2006

I moved here nearly 2 years ago and have been searching for a good hair stylist and colorist ever since. I thought I'd give Seven a try because I'd heard it was THE salon if you like a haircut that grows out well and color that doesn't wage war with your skin. What I got was NOT what I expected--bad cut that looked similar to a Mrs. Brady shag, and color to match (my natural color is dark brown, almost black). I was extremely disappointed and fought the urge to break into tears right in the chair. Needless to say, I have not been back since. Seven is all ego, with a price to match, and I could have gotten a better style at Mastercuts. more

First professional haircut in 20 years 5/7/2006

( my backstory)I didn't have good luck with hair stylists,I ended up paying a lot for a cut that was hard to maintain myself, and barely got out of the shop without paying for overpriced products I didn't want. So I have been doing my own hair for 20 years. But on a recent shopping expo to Bellevue square ( where I go about 2x a year), I stopped in at Seven to get a cut and foil color from Jessica. It was I admit, more money than I was used to paying ;)- but the hair cut turned out great, and while the color was even more natural looking than I anticipated, it looks very good and I look forward to my next visit. ( I would give it 5 stars- but I would frankly prefer a salon that was a little cozier ) more

Color me Lorenzo 4/10/2006

I loooooove my hair color now that Lorenzo at Seven Hair Salon has taken control. After years at Gene Juarez being the "same Seattle Blonde" that you see everywhere it seems, Lorenzo has shown me that hair color is not about looking like everyone else...it is about looking like the best you that you can be. I get compliments all the time now and asked where to get my color. For those on the other side of the lake...he works between both the Seattle and Bellevue Salons. more

Jacquline at Seven Salon in Seattle 4/10/2006

If you are looking for a great hairdresser for long hair...look no further than Jacquline at Seven in Seattle. Looking for evidence? The great cuts on the front counter staff are mainly her work. And they will all secretly admit that she is their favorite for their long tresses. Love my cut...and it lasts the distance too. Do not need to come in every month to look good. more

Excellent 3/21/2006

I had read all the posted comments before I called this salon. I wanted advice on style and it looked like this might be a good place. At random, I was assigned to Michael, who several people have written about. There was at least one review that said he was distracted and didn't focus on the customer, that he talked to other people throughout. So when we started, I told Michael about the review and said I hoped that wouldn't happen. It did not. He was great. He paid attention to my facial structure, my lifestyle, and my vague style goals before he started. We talked about what he wanted to do and I agreed. I am very pleased with the result. I would go back to him in a hearbeat. PS - Lots of people have said that Seven is way overpriced, but I did not find that to be the case. more

Wish everyone could have my experience. Best salon and haircut I've experienced in Seattle. 3/13/2006

My experience at Seven was by far the best I've ever had in a Salon. From the upbeat ambiance to the fabulous haircut I experienced from a stylist named Shelli. She not only took into consideration my bone structure and type of hair but also my lack of talent when it comes to styling. It's been a long time since anyone has taken their time to help me understand what would make it easier for me to style my hair. I didn't feel rushed, I felt cared about. Shelli gave me a wonderful haircut. Not only did it look great the day I left the salon it has continued to get better and better. more

Sigh, i wish i had the same experience as the rest of you. 3/12/2006

it was with high hopes that i tried Salon Seven, but i ended up with a bad haircut. i first saw jaclyn - very very nice lady! - who talked about what hairstyle would best suit my face, etc. she gave me a decent cut but after less than 2 weeks, it looked like it already needed to be recut - shaggy, etc. so i called the salon and asked to have someone else recut my hair. that's when things really went downhill. when i told the receptionist that i wanted to make sure that whoever cut my hair was good with curly hair, she was dismissive and gave me the bitchy answer of "shelli HAS curly hair". ms. receptionist, a) that doesn't mean that someone *can* cut curly hair, and b) shelli has wavy hair, NOT curls. but i digress. shelli agreed with jacklyn's philosophy on what needed to be done with my hair and felt that the first cut was good, it just needed to be cut more. so i let her at it once we agreed that we'd keep the length (my long curls were doing a great job of sitting on my shoulders). i don't even know where to go from here. my hair looked horrible the next day, almost like a mullet. but i know from experience that sometimes it takes a few days for the style to set in so i tried not to worry. my hair did improve but it's still an unnatractive cut. the top is somehow flat - no curl. but then lower down it curls so i look like i have a shelf on top of my head. the sides are ok in places but in other places they are more kinked than curly, and even straight in a few areas. in general it's quite shorter than what i wanted. i hope others continue to have better luck. more

Change the side on which you part your hair - change your life! 2/1/2006

After the recommendation of a friend and the other Judy's Bookers, I took the plunge and went to 7 last night. Readers - it's all true. This place is fantastic! I can't say enough about Michael, my new hair stylist and latest crush. After looking carefully at my hair and facial structure, he gave me his recommendation on what I should do. BAM! It was exactly what I'm looking for! Not only did he give me a stylish new cut that I can actually replicate (I'm very low maintenance....I don't even own a brush), he has a super personality and is fun to talk with. Even though I've been paying around $25 for a haircut for the last 7 years, I found his prices *very* affordable and worth every penny. When I go back next time, I'm even going to have him do my color. Good-bye box o' dye! This gal is movin' on up! more

Salon with a Scene 11/23/2005

I've been going to Seven Salon since I moved to Seattle and have received a great haircut each time. I'm about as low-maintenance as you get when it comes to hair (no coloring, and pretty basic styling) but Seven is worth it for the experience alone. Modelesque stylists strut their stuff around the swanky modern space while Euro-techno grooves play in the background. If you can stomach the price--$90 (including tip) for a basic cut, this place is a good bet for sheer entertainment value if nothing else. more

Graham at Seven = wonderful! 9/8/2005

First time with Graham and Seven - he spent time talking with me and studying my crazy-curly hair and made SURE we were in agreement as to the style. This is because he was cutting 4+ inches off. Graham did a superb job cutting my difficult hair. He has so much experience in the industry I am confident he could work wonders on any type of hair. On top of that he is a delight to chat with and TOO tactful to mention my grays!!! more

Great hair for all 8/17/2005

I am going to rate this establishment great even though my encounter with it was only good. The reason for this is that I see much potential for greatness. In fact I saw greatness taking place around me during my appointment. My stylist simply couldn't reach this standard. Anyway, the premise for coming to Seven is that the owner believes that one should have ones haircut based on your facial bone structure. Coupled with the overall competence of the staff I say go to Seven. Though, you might want to try one of the more experienced hairdressers. more

Seven Hair Salon 8/17/2005

Seven is a very nice salon, if you are ok with spending a little more than average for your stylings. It is a small spot on 7th avenue, across the street from the movie theater. It is a personal, stylish (both by hair and attitude) feeling space with about twelve chairs lining the walls. The hair dressers are not allowed to wear anything but black unless it's summer time, when they can throw white in their mix. I have had my hair done there several times, and was satisfied with each experience. I have had both cuts and color done, and with each they offer personal advice - if you ask for it. They do not inject their ideas if they are not wanted. Nor are they pushy about selling their products (although the times I have given in it has been well worth it), and even if their services are more pricey than other local salons, I like the place. more

Shelli Martin at Seven is good with curly hair. I have been going to her for years and I think she is great. The Seven salon will make you feel very hip in a very non-Seattle way. more

Seven is a Ten 9/24/2004

After Ewa Reppling showed up to work one day and turned every head in the room, the race was on to see if the same could be done for each of us. Seven, located downtown Seattle, takes getting your hair styled to the next level. Roger, the owner, is terrific. In his chair, you are treated individually for what look is best for you (he is great at color too). This is not a one size fits all salon and he is ready to explain why a celebrity magazine hairstyle is "not you".

Haircuts are $125 (they hold up past the three month mark too) and color varies on what you choose. He may cost more than others but I have not ever heard anyone disappointed.

Check out Roger at Seven...you can even book a consultation appointment...that is if you are not ready to jump in head first. more

We couldn't believe that Ewa spent $300 on a haircut. But it looks amazing! Months later it still looks amazing!! Well worth the 300 bucks. more
