Best

My husband and I absolutely LOVE eating here. It's our favorite date spot. Great location and food. I would recommend it to anyone.

Worst

I recently had a business dinner at Ruth's Chris steak house and was grimly unimpressed. The brocolli came bearly steamed without a trace of salt or pepper. The asparagus was bitt...

wonderful service! 10/17/2007

I've been to Ruth's Christ before, but never have I had such a wonderful experience! My server was new, I think his name was Steve, and I was delighted with the perfect wine parring he chose for us! I will defiantly be requesting him again! Pros: extensive wine list more

not worth the money-25 dollar steaks with no salad or sides incuded 9/10/2007

came here with a date who said the food was good. Seated promptly. Server was knowledgeable about menu and very friendly.I have been trying to eat healthy so I ordered the tuna. Big mistake. Tuna was dry with no flavor or sauce served with it. My date had steak and gave me a bite, which was very good-which I would have ordered it. Sides were not included. We ordered tomatoes and sweet potato pie as sides which were good. I can not believe that this place is so pricey and you get NOTHING with your course except a basket of bread. I did not ask what the bill was, but I know it was over a 100 bucks-and I was barely full. Meal we had the week before next door at Bonefish had flavor, a lot less pricey and I had leftovers. Pros: great service, our sides, wine, date's steak was delish Cons: wayyy overpriced,my tuna was dry with no flavor more

The Steaks and Creamed Spinach are fantastic 8/31/2007

I have eaten at a number of Ruhts Chris restaurants and the food/menu is nearly identical. We always get the Fillet (sometimes we share the large one). Order the Bearnaise sauce for your steak. We love the broiled tomatoes, spinach, among other sides. The lettuce wedge and lobster bisque are great too. The service is always great and I have never felt ""looked down"" on by the staff because we sometimes share the steak or salad. \r \r Of course the steak comes out piping hot and is so tender - where do they get their meat? While I would not call it a ""kids"" restaurant, my teenagers love the food as well. It is their first choice for celebrating good grades or Mom's birthday. It's great for just me and the wife too. Though everything is ala carte, the sides are meant to share. If you are not a ""drinker"" my wife and I have gotten out of their for less than $60 by sharing the large fillet (which they split in the kitchen).\r \r Service is good and not slow. Pros: Best Steaks, Creamed Spinach, Great Service Cons: It is not inexpensive more

A wonderful romantic experience 7/16/2007

I'll keep it short: WOW\r The best steak anywhere. The service was excellent, though a bit slow. They are very expensive, but so is the experience. Pros: the menu Cons: slow service more

Horrible 6/3/2007

A party of +/- 40 of us went to Ruth's Chris. My husband's meal: great (except pricey). My meal: horrible! I ordered something that should have been a very simple request, filet mignon served medium rare. You would think an establishment of this caliber would provide me with my request. Instead I received a steak that was well done (to say the least). I was so upset that my steak was uneatable that I re-ordered the steak I requested in the first place. Needless to say, everyone was practically finishing up with their meals, enjoying desserts and coffee while I was just beginning to eat and enjoy mine. The second steak was good; I've had better and I've had worse. What really got under my skin is that the waiter had the nerve to box up the well done steak and give it to me as if to say, ""Here is your free gift"". Why on earth would he do that? Talk about no coothe. I mean if it wasn't good enough to eat while I was in your restaurant; then why would I bother taking it home? My husband convinced me to take the steak home - - our lab retriever enjoyed a pricey, overcooked piece of meat !This place will definitely not get anymore of my money! Pros: My dog ate it Cons: I didn't more

So? 1/30/2007

Wow.....what an experience. I can say it is not nearly as highly rated in my book as it comes across when you read the menu or think of the quality you would expect from a place with this sort of price. By far it is better to spend your money elsewhere that offers a specialty in steaks. Sadly we were not treated as we thought we should for the price we were paying. It seems that everything being a la carte made matters worse and the bill racked up, but yet we were still fairly ignored, and treated like we were at a lesser quality restaurant. I am not certain what is with all the hype. I can say the steak was good, but the attitude sort of created a lesser tasting steak. Sorry. Wish I could offer a better report....but I can't. Guess everyone has to try this place at least once. Pros: location Cons: price, food more

AWFUL Ruth's Chris 12/28/2006

We were seated at the time we had reserved. The waiter was pushy and kept trying us to get glasses of wine while we decided on what bottle we wanted. The onion soup had burned toast in it, the ribeye steaks we real fatty. The left food to be brought home on the bottom of a tray for 15 minutes then tried to sneak it away to wrap. WAY over priced, quality was poor. Pros: Free Matches Cons: overpriced, food NOT worth the money, fatty steaks, burned toast in onion soup more

Worst Service In Town 12/8/2006

Crowded, loud, with an unfriendly staff and the WORST SERVICE IN TOWN. This is not upscale dining. Cons: Unbelievably slow. Don't bother making reservations. You'll still have to wait. more

Two Thumbs Down 12/2/2006

Fine dining should include excellent service. This restaurant misses the mark completely. We arrived on time for our 8PM reservation but had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. The curt hostess did not direct us to a bar or waiting area or even a chair. We found a bar on the 2nd floor, (the 1st floor bar was standing room only) where the bar tender yelled over our heads at a passing waiter that she was out of high ball glasses. We passed the time at the bar until we were seating at a table 8:30PM at which time I ordered a cup of hot tea and the waiter disappeared. At 8:45PM the manager appeared and we ordered drinks again along with our meal and asked where our waiter was. The manager took our orders and by 9PM I had a cup of tea. The meal finally arrived at 9:30PM (not delivered by our waiter). We asked to speak to the manager. I was too upset to eat. The waiter appeared around 9:45PM to ask why I wasn't eating. Since we were still waiting to speak to the manager, I said we were fine, trying to avoid a confrontation with him. The waiter needled me for more info saying he was ""getting a bad vibe."" His bullying did not help my mood. The manager arrived around 10PM wondering why we were upset. Besides the fact that it was 10PM on a Saturday night and I was trapped in hell, I explained that service was sub-par and there had been unacceptable waits at every step of the dining process. By now I had tears in my eyes and asked for the check, which he comped. This was my boyfriend's birthday. Please don't entrust any special occasion to Ruth's Chris. It is not fine dining. It is a Jack-in-the-Box with valet service. From the snotty hostess, to the screaming bartender, to the disappearing waiter, to the oblivious manager, Ruth's Chris in Cary, NC does not measure up. more

Great food, service, and atmosphere. WOW 11/18/2006

I had never been to a Ruth's Chris Steak House before, and the experience was great. Our group was seated at a round table and then a moving curtain was pulled to cordone us and to create a private room atmosphere. I wasn't expecting that, so it was a neat first impression.\r \r For an appetizer I sampled the seared tuna. It was really special with a great mustard-based sauce. The tuna was perfectly cooked. The lump crabmeat was also great. I had the sliced Onion and Tomato salad, and it was beautifully prepared. The T-Bone I ordered was extremely tender had a slight smoked flavor. You could have cut it with a spoon and the flavor insisted on a slow pace to maximize the enjoyment.\r \r Overall I was very impressed with Ruth's Chris. It?s a big city chain, I suppose, so it doesn't necessarily represent the area by providing a sample of the area's indigenous food, but it is a great restaurant and I can't imagine many people being disappointed. I plan to return and try some of the more esoteric options. Pros: Great menu Cons: An expensive restaurant more

Oh So Elegant! 8/17/2006

It would be difficult to say anything at all in a derogatory fashion about this restaurant. The ambience is impeccable. The dinner was absolutely wonderful, with the exception of the lobster which I felt was a bit overcooked. The service was very good as well, but a bit slow in refilling drink orders. I loved this place and will return again and again. If you haven't experienced it yet, you definately must go. It's worth the $$$$. Pros: Wonderful fare, great ambience Cons: Absolutely none more

Beautiful restaurant and Great steak! 7/17/2006

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The decor is like no other restaurant! The service and food were great! From the second I entered the restaurant till the second I left- everything was perfect. Great Bar too!!! I will be back real soon! Highly Recommended!! Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

WOW!!! 7/13/2006

Not only is this one of the most attractive restaurants that I have dined at, it also has the best food and SERVICE I have experienced. If you are looking to sign the deal or get down on one knee I recommend Ruth's Chris. Once again WOW!!! Thanks Ruth's. I will be back often. Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere more

Ruth Fertel is spinning in her grave 1/29/2006

As most know, this is a standard place for expense account executives. I made the mistake of taking the wife and daughter here for a special family occassion. We were seated by the kitchen door. The wait staff wasn't remotely interested in waiting on a tiny table of three. We had to beg to get water or wine refilled. They lavished their attentions on the eight rowdy Scotch-swilling business types at the next table. Food was unexceptional. Sorry Ruth. I'll never be back to your Cary location. Pros: faux elegance Cons: service, food more

Absolutely Delicious! 9/9/2005

I have no complaints whatsoever about this place it was just perfect. The steak I had literally melted in my mouth. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic. Everything was perfect. But be prepared to pay $$$$. more

A Gourmet's Dream 8/25/2005

This was our first visit and we found it to be a wonderful experience. My birthday dinner couldn't have been better. The service was great (Debbie was our waitress) and the food was beyond delicious. The steak was very tender and just melted in your mouth. A very pleasant experience and we will be back again. We can definitely recommend it to our family and friends. more

Food, Birthday/Anniversary Issues 6/5/2005

I recently took my parents to this Ruths Chris for a Birthday/Anniversary celebration. Granted, the service was adequate however when my parents both tried their entrees (petite prime ribs) they both agreed to send their entrees back due to the entree being tough. Instead of chancing another bad order of prime rib my parents opted for petite filets. It took a good 40 minutes before their steaks arrived (needless to say I had finished my entree by this time). When we finished dinner the waiter swiftly produced our 200.00+ check. I felt it odd that a complimentary dessert was not offered due to the problems with my parents meals and/or the occasions for the dinner which was promptly acknowledged when we arrived for our reservation, when we were seated, and when the bill was presented. I doubt very seriously that I will be going back to this establishment. more

This is a serious steak house restaurant 5/24/2005

Wonderful place to go !! 6/17/2004

We went here for our 10th anniversary ! It was the best steak I have ever had, the service was excellent. Our drinks never got more than 1/2 empty, never a dirty plate on the table. They let us get something for our toddler and didn't charge us for it! Gave us free dessert for our special occasion, a balloon for the little one and a picture of us at the table to remember the occasion. Great place to go ! Pros: tender, delicate steak, best steak ever, excellent service more
