I went to this salon ahead of an Award Ceremony + Wedding I was to attend. I googled 'best salon NYC' and this one came up so I figured it was worth taking a chance on a new salon. The woman who did my hair completely botched my color job. My roots were red and the rest of my hair was dark. I looked like a skunk with one weird streak going down the middle of my head and everyone at work the next day couldn't believe I went to a top salon and left looking like I NEEDED a salon. (after paying 150 dollars). When I called to complain and insisted I come back so they fix it for free, they agreed. I had to leave work in order to get my hair fixed, as it was already Friday and my two big events were taking place Saturday. They kept me there 4 hours fixing my hair, with Rodolfo himself telling me not to let just anyone touch my hair again. He failed to understand it was HIS stylist that messed up my hair to begin with. THEN after this service when I missed half a day of work, they had the audacity to charge me another 250 dollars. They said they did not charge me for the color, but for the decartage. I was so angry I couldn't even speak. I will NEVER go to this salon again. The first colorist was awful, and Rodolfo himself was unapologetic. They should have paid ME for my inconvenience of missing half a day at work + taxi ride to go back and get my hair fixed. Total jerk-offs and too snooty for me. If I could get them NO stars, I would. more

I was looking to get my hair Extensions and 2 salons are all over Google..Patricia Salon In Astoria and Rodolfo Valentin in Manhattan, the bad news both business Sucks and they are a complete lairs. Full of Fake reviews Patricias salon in queens is the king of the lairs with more 1000 positive fake reviews but in Yelp 14 negative and not even one positive..so sad but so true. The Queen in this infamous list is Rodolfo Valentin salon, Yelp only 1 positive, yes only 1 positive review but 300 fake positive on citysearch...WTF?? By the way , Yelp is ten times more popular and reliable website than citysearch. So ,Give yourself a favor next time visit Yelp and find the real true, is very hard for owner post own reviews because they filtered reviews due to IP locations and other tools to prevent this terrible practices, Shame on You ,,,,,Shame on you LIARS!!! I have to blame Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Brooke Shields, plus all the celebrities that are having those gorgeous long hair, I told to myself “it is their responsibility” whatever happens to me after having the gorgeous hair extensions by Rodolfo Valentin. I know that many of them will not be where they are these days if it were not for their extensions of hair. Behindhand I must to admit that I am resentful of their extensions and the marvelous attention they obtain. As soon as I was able to get an appointment with Rodolfo Valentin a celebrity hair stylist himself, I was able to test his famous trademarked Hair Infusion extensions technique. The consultation was complimentary so I assumed that I didn’t have anything to lose. After he applied in my hair around half of a set, I did not think twice. I supplicate him to continue doing it. Rodolfo told me that the set cost 2,800, I repeated again, please go ahead! I told him that I will like to looks just like Jennifer Lopez to what he answered that she has much more hair than one set can provide. I ended up having two sets and just looking exactly as JLo! I loved! After all what is the difference of spending thousands of dollars in a Chanel suite that I cannot wear every single day compared with these wonderful hair extensions that I can even sleep with? …In less than one hour my hair turned out to be the most important feature of myself. Rodolfo told me that my hair extensions were recyclable what means I can use them for the rest of the year with just a few detach and reattach for service as soon as they grow far enough from my roots for the cost of 500 dollars. Again, it is fine to me; my Chanel suite will cost me more! Before I left he told me that he was not responsible for anything that happens to me like if people star to jump on me think I am a celebrity. It was exactly what happened when I was walking down Madison Avenue just in one block away from Rodolfo salon. I have to go inside Barneys after perceiving countless admiring peeps! more

Rodolfo Valentin is the world's best salon; I have the greatest experience about hair extensions and hair color. They are not cheap, but they are the best. It is understandable that no everybody can afford Gucci, Chanel or Hermes. Well....it is the case, Rodolfo Valentin is the world's best salon even that, this salon is no more expensive than the others in the same high end level, I think this is in the lower cost compare to the top others, which makes it still much better. People shouldn't get mad when they cannot afford something and criticize it just because they cannot pay for it. A person that does not have the money to get something they should assume their life with dignity not with angriness or slander business just because they cannot afford it. This is a high end salon, prices accordingly. more

I was in a hurry of getting hair extensions for a photo shout. Thanks to god I was gifted to have them the same day. Their great staff rushed to the second level of the building to make sure that the technicians there made them perfectly counting that my natural hair color is a slight challenging Rodolfo Valentin well-arranged that some of his staff fellows to work in the hair color of the hair extensions. However while waiting I was able to witnessed several persons having their hair color that I also got excited about it. I ended up doing my hair color following Rodolfo advices about doing some changes that Rodolfo entitled: Valentin’s hair color signature! It is certainly fabulous and people is giving me a lot of compliments, since them most of my friends are also having their hair color done at Rodolfo’s since they loved my hair color!. The prices of services are standard for Madison Avenue or Fifth Avenue but lower than most of the other salons in the same high, still very affordable, and if we compare with quality, their high level of services is priceless. I am a model and my company pays the half of any expenses related to beauty, still I was able to pay for the bill, it is an extra very significant cause to continue going to Rodolfo in this bad economy to have the best for less than the rest. Of course there are out there plenty salons that will cost much less than Rodolfo, but less means less quality of services! My hair color and my hair extensions are the attention of everyone in my net and everyone wants to go to Rodolfo. I finally got an appointment with Rodolfo Valentin after reading all the positive reviews and I got *AHHHHHMAZING* hair! I have never been happier and my hair has never been healthier. The test was that I got lots of compliments over the weekend, and I just got my hair done (highlights/cut) on Friday. All the beautiful things you read about this true. Rodolfo is fun, talented and puts you at ease (and he has great hair too). He uses his famous hair extensions! ALTHOUGH I did see some famous faces there, which shocked me and also made me feel like I was in the right place. I am also a model for fashion and I must have my hair perfect at all times. There must be another dozen of models some very well known. If you're looking for great hair, a great stylist you'll be happy. The place overall is quite amusing. I will definitely be back and have already given my friends the 411. These are the Hair Extensions that cannot be compared to none! I got very tired having my color in one place, my cut in another, even my blow dry! Until I found Rodolfo Valentin in Madison Avenue, he really works like most Europeans he is a one-stop-shop where I get everything I want, best quality: the colors, the haircut, blow-dry and his well trained staff makes you feel very confident, they are multifaceted, you can feel very lucky if you get Rodolfo (probably the reason why his clientele keep him as the best secret of the city to meet him is an experience and the good news are that you do not have to climb narrow steps, the private elevator opens into the old world chic salon where the high society of New York frequent. The quality of services offered at Rodolfo’s is legendary, but nobody reports about the facilities, this is the most hygienic salon in the city! Although that they don’t have spa at the Madison Avenue location (they have a Long Island spa voted the four top day spas in USA by American spa) his NY salon feels like you are getting hair services in a great spa: first highlight is the elevator that opens into the salon floor, the sense of privacy is enormous! It feels like you’re coming into a friend’s home. There is a center table offering complimentary snacks (unbelievable!), the receptionist will help you change into a fresh robe. Their floor attendant will promptly bring to you any beverage you desire and the aromatherapy terry towels in the ladies rooms are abundant. It is a pleasure to spend time there. Rodolfo Valentin Reviews are unbelievable! so I decided to try their services myself last week. I did an appointment at the New York City Salon for consultation. As soon as I walked in there were two ladies in the reception desk with a big, welcoming smile which made me feel very comfortable from the very first minute I was there. They escorted me to the changing rooms and provided a robe. Most of Rodolfo clients are having their hair extensions from many years and I have the opportunity to chat with some of them while having my hair color and all of them are coinciding in the same comments, like “they are the best”, “never a problem”, “very natural”, very light”, “very affordable because they can be re-used”, “I have volume in my hair”, “I achieved the length that never able to reach” and more and more positive comments. I am very happy of being part of the clientele list of the best salon in New York. Then while waiting I was offered a glass of champagne by the cute floor manager of name Dennis. Even if I was waiting for around 20 minutes I was fascinated watching the parade of several customers leaving with gorgeous hair. Some very long, some medium length but all of their hair colors truly stunning. I realized that I was in the right salon for first time in my life. All my previous salons experiences were a disaster, first about haircuts, I was never able to get the perfect haircut and I must say that I have been to the most expensive and famous hair stylists in New York City. Then my hair color always dull without life. After being customer of one of the most famous hair colorists in NYC for years this is another reason why I come in to Rodolfo Valentin salon. Rodolfo is very gently and as seen in the Rodolfo Valentin reviews I must say that all those Rodolfo Valentin reviews are perfectly matching which each review and all the comments as posted. I don't believe in cheap hair extensions, how they can be good?. Who whatever is selling hair extensions at a very low cost it means very low quality too!. Instead I decided for Rodolfo Valentin hair extensions, they are made from the best European hair right there in their atelier floor. The texture is the best, the hair color perfect matches mine and they are re-usable. I paid 2,800 per each set, I purchased two of them because I wanted a lot of hair. It seems a bit expensive but considering that they are re-usable they are very cheap! I will not have to buy a new set everytime I need to change them as I was happening to me when I was using great lengths. Great Lengths was a very expensive proposition!. With the hair infusion I can use and re use them as long as I take good care of course. Highly recommended for people that can afford it. more

The most expensive, over-rated hair salon in NYC. I had a consultation with Rodolfo. He looks nothing like the younger picture he has of himself on his website. Think 30 years older, and 50 pounds heavier. He explained to me that his hair infusion method, which looks like tape on hair, is the healthiest hair extension on the market. He then explained the pricing would be $2400 -$4000 depending on how much extensions were required. I almost fell off my chair! The receptionist, who has an accent, explained it would be around $1000. Rodolfo, who I could also barely understand, had a price 4 times higher!\r \r I then found another salon within walking distance, that charged me $499 for a full head of hair extensions. That's right, $499, with great hair. \r \r I figure I would save the rest, on go on a vacation.\r \r Morale of the story. We are in a global recession. I, as a hard working African American Women can't spend insane amounts on hair extensions when I can find better and cheaper very close by.\r \r Final statement, all these reviews sound so fake.
