I truly have the benefit of being one of the two thousand people invited to enjoy to the wedding of Andrea Catsimatidis, daughter of John and Margo with Chirstopher Nixon Cox, the grandson of the late President Richard Nixon at the Waldorf Astoria. I also have the great pleasure of share the celebration with Hilary Clinton, Henry Kissinger and the congresswoman Carolyn Maloney. Everybody was looking gorgeous, why? Best Haircut ever just like Best Chanel suit or Dior Shoes 5/22/2012

This if my first review here in Citysearch and I hope I am doing it okay. As I like a Chanel suit, a Dior shoes or a Hermes bag, I love Rodolfo Valentin which is my best brand hair stylist. I am European and I am not wealthy but I see things a little bit different than other people, I am the kind of girl that likes to have probably only one from the best that many things of mediocre quality. As an example I enjoy to have one real suit from Chanel that dozens from unknown brands, same with the shoes, I truly enjoy having two pairs from Dior or at least just one great handbag from Hermes!—Same attitude I have about beauty. I only use the best makeup also from Chanel, the best cosmetics like La Mer for my skin and the best salon in the world, Rodolfo Valentin for my haircut. At their location in New York they have stylists for 125, 175 and Rodolfo who charges 350, something that can be called a bargain compare to other famous hair stylists in the City that are charging 500, 600 also 800 for a haircut that cannot be compare to the haircut done by Rodolfo. Also, at Rodolfo’s the haircuts are including the best shampoo, quality conditioner, blow-dry plus a heavenly cranial massage that justifies the price just by itself. I have paid more than that for a cranial massage which greatly helps me with headaches. Again, I do not care to pay for the best but I do care if I have to pay top price for the worst! I can use any of the other stylists at Rodolfo’s, they are all good, they are all very professional and even the ones that are charging there 125 are doing a very professional, decent job including the shampoo, styling and again the cranial massage. But I want Rodolfo, he makes me feel secure, I can manage my hair even without styling it. I think that Rodolfo’s haircut matches perfectly with my Chanel suit, my Dior shoes and my Hermes bag! more

Nice Hair Cut But Not Worth the Money 5/20/2012

After reading all the great reviews at Rodolfo Valentin, I couldn’t help but go in for a haircut here. They were able to squeeze me in with one of the girls that had an opening. The front staff was very friendly and so was the girl who cut my hair. She gave me a scalp massage that I won’t soon forget and the haircut was just as I had wanted. The only negative thing I have to say about the place is their prices. While I expect these prices to be charged to women with a full head of hair, I don’t expect to pay the same for a shampoo, a trim and a little sculpting gel. more

Best Hair Extension Salon in New York 5/19/2012

It was not easy to find the best hair extension salon in New York with so many offerings and none of them sounding attractive! I truly was exhausted and frustrated of having visited most of the extension salons that are proclaiming of doing the best and being the best of the best, specially one in Astoria, Queens when in reality it is the worst in every sense. Asking friends and non-friends in the restaurants or while shopping I ended up with a consultation with Rodolfo Valentin. Did not take me more than 30 minutes to realize that I was in the right hands or probably I should say golden hands! I not only got the best customer service than any other salon delivers but a great hair color and the best hair extensions in the world that also helped to enhance my hair color! Now other women are asking me in the street, restaurants and while shopping where I get my hair done! Thank you Rodolfo Valentin salon. more

Reunited 5/15/2012

I have been working in Manhattan for many years. I shop on Madison Avenue all the time, visiting the boutiques and cafes during lunch and after work. I remember going to Rodolfo's salon in the upper 80's many years ago. After having drinks at Amaranth's and speaking with friends, I was informed that Rodolfo was now around the corner at 62nd and Madison. I had to go see an old friend, whom I had lost contact with over the years. I made an appointment for a color and blowout for the next day. It was nice to see Rodolfo again, since I could not remember why I went elsewhere to get my hair done. After our initial consultation he gave me the best color and blowout that I have had in several years. I have continued our monthly ""date"" for the last 3 months and hope that our being reunited will continue into the future. It is always a pleasure to see Rodolfo and have him enjoy the success he has attained over the years. Everyone who works there is so pleasant and the envirionment is so enjoyable. The service is great and prices are reasonable for Madison Avenue. more

Big Help 5/14/2012

I had a bad hair situation from previous at home coloring and was in desperate need of help. After searching the internet, I went to Rodolfo Valentin's salon for help. Upon my consultation with Rodolfo, he suggested that we go darker in color. He was very concerned with the condition of my hair and informed me that he could repair the damage. With his reassurance he appled a special hair treatment, mixed a wonderful color that was applied by his haircolorist Bea and then added highlights. She did a wonderful job reparing the damage to my hair and made it look great. Bea was personable and fun. She really knew what she was doing with the oversight by Rodolfo Valentin. My hair once again has life and volume. I thank you again Rodolfo Valentin and company. more

When I came to Rodolfo Valentin for a new hairstyle and color, Rodolfo showed me a portfolio of his clients hair and books with the latest styles and colors. This consultation was the most important step in making the best choice for my hair type and maintenance requirements. Rodolfo took the time to explain which products would help me to achieve the same look at home that he produced in the salon. We decided that for me to achieve my new look it would require Rodolfo's hair infusions, hair color and cut. The results were SPECTACULAR. Thank you Rodolfo and your team of professional. I Love Rodolfo. He is the BEST hair stylist and the BEST hair colorist in New York City. He has been doing my hair for several years. Cut, color and infusions and I am always happy with the results. I never received compliments on my lifeless hair before Rodolfo got a hold of it. He is wonderful at giving recommendations for different hair types and lifestyles. I have always wanted to have more than anaverage hair beauty salon. At Rodolfo Valentin I got more that what I havewanted. His love, passion, experience and knowledge about the complexity ofhair, a hair coloring and hair addition is beyond to compare. Going to RodolfoValentin Salon, is such a pleasing experience. The staff is professional,friendly and warm. The Salon itself has an opulent and vibrant atmosphere.Every time I have to have my hair done, it’s like I am treating myself to anexquisite experience like no other. One of the reasons why I always lookforward to going to Rodolfo Valentin, in my point of view, this is the bestsalon in the city. I am coloring my hair from several years, and although thereare no similar statistics for products used in hair salons, and if it is truethat the vast majority of women are hiding their gray as myself, most of thepopular brands does not last long covering it and in a few days the gray colorshows because the color wash out! As many of my friends I also even tried to doit myself buying the hair-coloring product from the drugstore. After all thatdependency I was ready to give up until I meet the legendary genius RodolfoValentin. He explained to me that the major difference is that a professionalcolorist can custom blend a specific color and control the amount of peroxideused. With this conscious blending, the color will last longer. The onlyunavoidable problem is how much your hair grows, but the answer is to retouchonly the roots and using only deposit colors. I never expect that I will havethe time to make this report, but after so many years he gave me back my hairhappiness. Thank you Rodolfo, artists like you should live forever! more

Best way to a woman's heart... 5/3/2012

I got to know about Rodolfo Valentin through a friend who regularly gets his haircut at his salon. He told me how amazed he always is when he gets his haircut there and see these ladies with gorgeous long hair. He somewhat saw a transformation of a young lady with short and limp hair into someone with long and full hair. He never thought they were extensions had he not seen it himself.. He suggested I take my wife for a consultation with Rodolfo since he knows my wife is becoming more sad and withdrawn because she lost a lot of hair when our first child was born. I persuaded her to try this option and she hesitantly agreed. when we met Rodolfo and consulted with him about his hair infusion, he was accommodating and patiently explained to my wife how the process is done. I never had second thoughts about the whole process, it was my wife who needed more informations and assurance. She reluctantly agreed to try Rodolfo's hair infusion. The VERDICT? 1 .Long hair ...Check 2. Silky Hair...Check 3. Color...Check 4 .Gorgeous hair...Check 5. Natural hair...Check 6. Service.....Check 7. Happy Husband....Check 8. Gee...my hair looks terrific! 5/2/2012

After long agonizing years of frustration, I came across Rodolfo Valentin's name and finally made up my mind to come, meet him and have a make over. He started with my color and I let him do the works according to his professional knowledge. Since I have been doing my hair color on my own, it was really bad. They stripped my hair color first by decapage process as I learned from him and after that they did the right color. It was a long process because according to them, they are very careful not to damage my already damaged hair, they don't want to use strong product on my hair. But it was worth it because I have the most beautiful color I ever had in my entire life! To achieve the best make over, I decided to have his hair infusion applied on me and let me tell you that Iam the happiest person... I achieved the look that I was dreaming of. My husband likes the way I look now and we are so thankful to Rodolfo Valentin. more

Royal Hair Extensions is more affordable. 5/2/2012

This Rodolfo Valentin hair salon is not what it seems to be. They are over expensive and rude. After a frustrated experience with them far away from New York I visited royal hair extensions right on New York City on Lexington Avenue; they are not only the best but the most affordable. For something that Rodolfo wants to charge me thousands of dollars I only paid 499! Rodolfo Valentin advertises that are the best, but royal hair extensions does the same for a fraction of the price. more

Yes, Itâ??s is magic to get hair color at this salon, I would 5/2/2012

I walked into the salon for a simple blowout, and on a spur-of-the moment, gut feeling, I asked about Rodolfo's Hair Infusions. He was very generous with his time and service, explaining the process, and applied a few temporary extensions so that I could see the result. Although I had just a few applied, the effect was immediate and stunning - I literally had tears in my eyes when I saw how beautiful my hair was. As a rather stressed-out woman in her forties with some stress-pattern baldness, I had long written off the possibility of long, beautiful hair. I made the immediate decision to have a full, beautiful mane of extensions applied that were, somehow, PERFECTLY color-matched to my hair. I am so grateful to Rodolfo and everyone at the salon. My husband and son were speechless at the transformation. My hair color was incredible beautiful also impeccable done by a great hair colorist of name Pia. In just a few hours under Rodolfo's expert skills, I went from frump-girl to beautiful. This is no run-of-the mill extension job that looks fake, or leaves you with a lollipop head. This is a whole different animal - you get what you pay for. (it is expensive but worth it every single penny!) This is not the place to go if you are looking for bargains. It is, truly, magic. more

Hair Colorists at this Best Hair Color Salon 5/2/2012

I come from another state and finally moved to new york city. I have a dilemna in finding a good colorist even in Chicago where I came from, I jumped from one salon to another to find the best colorist. Unfortunately, I was never satisfied. I guess it's human nature. However, I really wanted to find a salon that I can rely on for my hair color and so I searched the internet for top colorist. Rodolfo Valentin salon came out from the list. I'm a skeptic and I don't believe everything there is in the internet. I went all the way with my research practically stopping women with beautifully colored and highlighted hair. Am not kidding....I did!! I probably have stopped ten women and out of those ten, 8 said they do their hair color at Rodolfo Valentin Salon. I finally decided to make an appointment. When I got to the salon, I was greeted with friendly athmosphere. The receptionist helped me with my things and introduced me to Rodolfo. Oh boy, a very tall genteleman, but consulting with him made me so comfortable. He explained to me all the processes I have to go through to achieve the result I wanted. I agreed because I trusted him... Voila, after Pia did my hair with Rodolfo's supervision, I walked out of the salon the happiest woman. I finally found what i have been searching for in a salon. I expect somebody to stop me in the streets one day and I would be very proud to say ""my hair is a product of Rodolfo Valentin Salon"". Thanks Pia and Rodolfo.. more

Best Hair Colorists in New York City 5/2/2012

Best hair colorists in New York City, no wonder why they are the winners of the top hair colorists award. After see how much my friend changed with the new hair color that Rodolfo did I could not wait for my appointment that was scheduled for the next week and I run the same day. Thanks to god they was able to take me the same day. I left the salon feeling like I was 10 years younger and I can also sense the eyes of other women admiring my hair in the street. My husband never say anything, not even notice any changes on me, but this time he told me, you should keep that hair color, really looks great on you. Best Extensions in NYC - Best Hair Stylists in New York 5/2/2012

Finally I got the best extensions in NYC that are not damaging the few hairs I have on my head! I am distress from having thinning hair since I was a teenager. I all the time feel uncomfortable about having just a small number of hairs while my friends a lot! I have been since the past 6 years to every hair loss specialist without any results. Last year I was at a hair extension salon that promotes that they are the best, that they are performing thousands of hair extensions, that they do every kind of hair extension available plus bla bla bla. I ended up with my hair in a tangle with glue all over my scalp, they did not care about my unhappiness and because I was in Astoria, Queens I was very afraid because the people in that salon did not seem friendly at all! I paid and I left crying while they were laughing in the back. Thanks to a friend of mine I was able to get an appointment with Rodolfo Valentin at his location in Madison Avenue. God bless my friend, without making any negative comment to me, the very professional staff of this salon, removed the horrible hair extensions, deep cleaned my fragile hair and after one hour they added their great extensions. I must say god bless my friend and god bless this fabulous salon. The most professional hair stylists I have ever met. more
