This was my first visit to Rodolfo Valentin’s. Maritza did my extensions or rather hair infusions and believe me what a difference. The hair is custom made for my hair color and style. I will never use extensions again. It is pricier, however, the hair is reversible. Imagine never having to purchase extensions again.\r more

I went to Rodolfo Valentin’s a couple of weeks ago and got the best haircut ever. My stylist was Claudio and he did an awesome job. I was afraid to get my hair cut, because it has been a long time. But Claudio gave me the perfect cut and blow dry. I did not know that my hair could look so good. I’m very happy with the service and quality. The salon is beautiful.\r more

I went to Rodolfo Valentin?s for the first time to have my hair cut and colored. I regrettably was unable to keep my first two appointments. When I called, the receptionist was accommodating (big plus) and friendly (what a relief). When I finally got to meet Rosa, she did a beautiful job on my color and the same should be said for Maritza who gave me this fantastic haircut. I have been going to Rodolfo Valentin’s for a while now and I love him. Not only is he sweet and unpretentious, he is spectacular at color and awesome at cuts. I have baby fine hair and yet he never ceases to amaze me. He can do both professional and hip looks. Anytime I tell him what I want, he tells me what will look good with my skin tone and facial structure. Together we come up with a great color and cut. Go see him. Also Maribel is the best waxer especially eyebrows and she is so nice. Come here if you are tired of uptight, much too expensive and pretentious salons that just aren’t giving you what you want and don’t listen to you and are pushy with their products.\r more

Just moved here from Chicago and had a hard tome finding someone to replace my perfect hairdresser from back home. Well thank you City search. I found Rodolfo Valentin’s. I made my appointment and the receptionist was very helpful. Rodolfo cut my hair perfect and then he had Rosa highlight and lowlight my hair. It turned out amazing. I was so glad I found him. I’ve been getting eyelash extension put on in LA for sometime now. I had to schedule the appointment for when I was coming to town for business. So when I found out Rodolfo Valentin’s is on Madison Avenue, this is just a quarter mile from my apartment. I thought I would give them a try. Franco cut my hair and made it look amazing. I have never enjoyed a trip to the salon as much as this one. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, the moment I walked in the door. Franco asked me what I was thinking in the way of a style and since I didn’t have a clue he gave me some suggestions and asked my opinion before he actually cut anything (which is always good). I moved to NYC six months ago from New Jersey because of work and have searched to change stylists. I kept spending money on gas and tolls going to and from for highlights and cut. And then my worst nightmare came true. My stylist told me that she was no longer doing hair anymore. I was devastated so I was off to City search and found Rodolfo Valentin’s. I spoke to Susan and she was so sweet and helpful. When I told her how nervous I was about seeing someone new, Susan recommended Rodolfo, the owner. I have never in my life been so satisfied. He listened carefully about what I wanted. He then suggested something a bit different. He even helped me with styling. Needless to say my hair looks better than ever. First of all I would like to say that I never write reviews. However, I had the best experience at Rodolfo Valentin’s. I really needed a haircut (not happy with my previous cut or stylist). My girlfriend at work mentioned Rodolfo Valentin’s and how she had been going there for 6 years now. Feeling uneasy she made the appointment and came along. Maritza was to be my stylist When I arrived we began talking about what to do with my hair. She made me feel comfortable (or maybe it was the complementary wine) they gave me. I let her give me a brand new hairstyle. I’ve had this haircut now for three weeks and I love it. I would’ve never imagined I could have such a great haircut. I will recommend everyone to get their haircut by Maritza. Not only is she a genius with the scissors, she’s a great person to spend some time having girl talk. more

Rodolfo is really one of the nicest and most inviting hair dressers I've ever met in New York City. He really gives great attention to detail and has great vision. I had total faith that he would do a great job, and he exceeded my expectations. more

Let’s face it there are many salons in NYC and lord knows I’ve been to my share who would have thought it would be so difficult to go blonde. I had pretty dark hair and I wanted to be super blonde. In the past everywhere I had gone to get my hair done had not turned out to be so good. The blonde always turns out really orange, not a pretty sight. \r Right before I was about to give up and go back to my dark brown, I was having lunch at Nello’s on Madison Avenue between 62nd and 63rd at the outdoor patio when I spotted what I thought was a woman with the perfect blonde color. After almost tackling her to inquire where she got her hair done, she pointed right next door at Rodolfo Valentin’s. So I booked my appointment with Rodolfo and I am so happy I did. The blonde is absolutely beautiful. It’s not orange at all, it is amazing how many compliments I get on it. He is my blonde guru. more

I’ve been going to Rodolfo Valentin’s for 2 years now. Finally got around to writing a review. I was referred by a friend because I wanted extensions and was told he was the best in New York. He did a beautiful job with my infusions and he also does my color and cuts and without exception every time he makes me look and feel beautiful. Every woman should have a stylist like Rodolfo. I’ve been going to Rodolfo Valentin’s salon for waxing for some time now. While I was paying my bill, this young lady said to me what beautiful hair and had I ever thought of covering the gray. At first I felt a bit insulted and snapped back, “I’ve worked very hard for this grey hair.” And she replied, “well then by all means you should keep some of it. Instead of taking 10 years off, I will only take 8”. Well I thought with a sense of humor like that, I had to take her up on the offer (I had been contemplating it for a while). Needless to say she worked her magic… new color, new cut, new friend and new me. OK maybe not so new me, but definitely 10 years younger. Thank you to my new friend Pia. This is truly a warm, friendly atmosphere. A must try. P.S. Maybe you’re right, my husband loves it and I will bring him next time so you can try your magic on him. He could use the 10 years.\r more

Let me ask you one question...do you love your hair? If so, there's only one person who will treat your hair carefully and with much respect as if it is his own. His name is Rodolfo Valentin. Not only that he is a true artist at his craft, but he also commands an amazing team of specialists who treat you and your hair like it's gold. My hair colorist was PIA; I have never had such attention paid to my hair and you will not walk away feeling neglected, ignored, unheard nor unhappy. This is truly a place where your hair is the star of the show and the center of attention. After other (high priced) NYC hair salons that left my long brown hair a bleached and sun-in orange frizzy mess...I was scared to have my hair color done again. While surfing citysearch and I couldn't believe how many people are writing good reviews about this salon, so I took a chance...and I must say: you should, too. The salon is beautiful and relaxing. Rodolfo is charming and charismatic and makes you feel instantly at home. He addressed the ""hair color and hair cutting abuse"" (his terms) that were inflicted upon my hair. After fixing the base color, Rodolfo wanted to put in a very conservative caramel/honey highlight but I pointed to his awesome D&G pants and said, ""I want that color burgundy"", So now, I have a beautiful and fun burgundy highlights that looks classy, not trashy. As I sat, the other 2 clients in the salon (both gorgeous with shades of blonde hair color) began to chat with me and told me how Rodolfo saved their hair, how much they love him and they would only trust their hair to him, they also say that only Rodolfo can create all these wonderful colors. He suggested putting in his exclusive extensions ( call infusions) to give me more volume and to help me deal with the choppiness of my layers from the ""cutting abuse"" I got in the other hair salon, but I felt I couldn't afford them at the moment. However, if I could, I would have it done. Most of his customers are having them, in fact while I was there probably more than a dozen of people was having the hair infusions aaplied. It's a fantastic system and looks amazing! , next time I will try the hair infusions. I would highly recommend this salon- Rodolfo and his staff made me feel so welcome and special, and my color is so much fun. I can't wait to go back again.
