I love this hotel. Right when you walk into the lobby, you're swept with the feeling for grandeur and romance. There's gold everywhere (I think i'm just particular to gold), and t...

This was my first time traveling to Las Vegas, my trip was booked as a package deal with 6 other family members, who have been to Las Vegas over 8 times.

Not Worth the Price 3/24/2006

I am Japanese and Japanese people are very picky when it comes to sushi rice. I don't know if I went to a bad day or not. But the sushi rice that I had was dry and a little bit hard. And I was really disappointed to find that even though they had Japanese people as sushi chefs, they couldn't make sushi rice correctly. I just couldn't believe that they actually served the kind of sushi rice to customers at this kind of upscale restaurant. Anyways, I stopped eating after having 4 orders of sushi because the sushi rice was that bad. But I really loved their appetizer and sake. And the interior was superb. Pros: Good Atmosphere, Good Appetizer, Good Sake Cons: Bad Sushi Rice, Not Worth the Price more

what you see is not what you get 2/2/2006

We booked a suite and the room was nice.. but anmenites lacking and the bed was like sleeping on a bag of rocks.. not just hard --LUMPS. Glad I was the only one to ask for a new room because I was told all beds were the same except for one.. The SPEK Room--not rentd only used to show travel agents ect.. In the new room the bed was great the amenities were much better--example rugs on bathroom floor and bathroab. We lucked out so our stay was great but if you are stuck in the normal room or suite.. I would not recommend more

Outstanding sushi 1/27/2006

I remember walking into Shibuya, and thinking it was a bit too loud and it smelled a bit fishy. Not the best first impression. But then I ate. And ate. And ATE. The sushi is by far the best I've ever had. Most expensive, too. :-) The fish was very fresh and very flavorful. I don't actually remember how the service was, which means it was ok. Pros: Excellent sushi Cons: Expensive, Loud more

steak is amazing, the vegetables even better! 1/4/2006

I have eaten at Craftsteak 2x, and both were excellent experiences. The service and the steak are equally terrific, however, I would write home about the vegetables. Fresh and prepared with originality! I would go there again gladly anytime! more

Let Down 12/22/2005

The MGM Grand is absolutely stunning as you enter the hotel. You are immediately amazed at the huge television screens, the sculptures, and the fountains. You will also be amazed at the size. When you go outside there is a huge most stunning outdoor pool whaich is great for children. However the room we got was overpriced. The room was average sized or even smaller. The SMOKING was excessive when you got the lobby which isn't too pleasant for children and non-smokers. There was a great abundance of resturants but the prices were devastating as were the spa and room service. When you tried to buy a floatee in the pool area you would be suprised at the price. Overall it was ok. pratically only good views but overly expensive. Pros: lots of activities, hotel staff are nice, very spacious Cons: crowded, exposed to smoking, overpriced rooms more

different but awsome 12/4/2005

ka may be different from the other cirque shows but i've seen it 3 times. It is much more theatrical that the others and if you open you're mind to other possibilites that to a cookie cut of the other shows then you can see that this show was created with a storyling. amazing special effects and costumes. and like the other cirque shows, the music is live. i recommend it highly to anyo who wants something different. if you're looking for a duplicate of O or mystere then move on. Pros: no obstructions, well staffed Cons: late arrivals more

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!! 11/30/2005

This was a ""must do"" for our visit by a ""Food TV chef personality"". Boy, were they off the mark! Visual ambiance of the restaurant was kool, the music was too loud and the droning beat drove me crazy by entree time. The waite staff was professional/properly attentive. The biggest disappointment was the food. The raw clams smelled fishy and were tough, additionally they were overpriced. ""Create your own salad"" was fun, but at $14/pp, overpriced. Our lobster entree smelled fishy, was both overcooked/rubbery and undercooked. Asparagus was not the young/tender vegetable, but an overgrown/ stringy disappointment. Being from the food industry we would have had to offer some discounts or something to hope to get return business. It's like they know their serving tourists and don't care if they get bad reviews. For our $200+ dollars we'll stick with our superb Dallas restaurants. Pros: Waite Staff, Visual Ambiance Cons: Food, Price, Audible Ambiance more

Party here! 11/28/2005

Great club inside the MGM Grand hotel. Lots of disco and dance music. Lines always form at the door, so arrive early or leave time or plan to wait! Dark, club-like atmosphere. Right off the casino floor in the MGM grand hotel. Drinks are expensive, but no more than at any other Vegas night spot. Great place to dance the night away. more

Excellent night club on the Vegas strip 11/17/2005

Heading to Las Vegas? Don't miss out on Studio 54. Party the night away in the old Studio 54 style, with disco balls on the ceiling and retro music. Lots of drinks and dancing. Always a line at the door. Hard to describe the inside...it's a dark night club with flashing strobe lights. On the smaller side, so make sure you plan to wait in line. They check out who they allow in to party at the door! It's a blast!!! more

Great Experience 11/13/2005

The ambience of the restaurant is really interesting and creative. I was immediately seated on a Sat. evening without reservation (i ate there solo.) I had salmon nigiri for an app and for my entree I had their ahi tuna which was phenomenal. As for the service, i simply told the waiter that i was in the mood for something a bit sweet and a bit tangy for dinner - he recommended the tuna which was just right. The servers are very knowledgeable and helpful. I had the crepes and sorbet for dessert which I thought were fantastic. One gripe - the portions are too small in my opinion. Do not go here if you've been walking all day, haven't eaten, and are starving! If you're looking for a light, creative dining experience check this out. Pros: house entrees, restaurant design, helpful service Cons: small portions/price more

Wow was that pricey 10/17/2005

Ok, I don't like seafood that much as it is but if you go anywhere, I guess Seablue was a good choice for the variety. Appetizers were WONDERFUL. You can do a small ""tasting"" menu of the cold and hot appetizers. I chose the soup trio and also the fried appetizer plate- Yummmy. And the oysters were also good but very very pricey. My main entree, some fish poached in a broth with foi gras, was NOT very good. The combination definitely did not mix for me. My dinner companions liked their entrees but I don't think they were overwhelmed by it. Dessert was decent but nothing outstanding. Wine selection was good though overpriced. more

Make sure to check special promotions if your staying at MGM. We received a $35.00 credit for dinner at Craftsteak. Make reservations in advance and ask for one of the booths near the back if you want a romantic separated table. The Duck was tasty (but salty). Craftsteak is primarily a steakhouse (as the name implies) so don't expect much else on the menu. Pros: Convenient Cons: Expensive, Narrow Menu more

Tabu was a "hit" for us. 10/9/2005

Clubs are hit or miss in Vegas. The night my wife and I went to Tabu was definately a hit. It was Sunday night. We went early - 10pm and got in free. Bartenders make stiff drinks and provide good service. The music was fantastic. By midnight the club was packed and moving. They play a good mix of danceable music (hip hop). We met some really nice people on top of that to make a great night. Pros: Good music, Good drinks Cons: Expensive drinks more

Great Food, weird serivce 9/28/2005

Stumbled on Pearl by accident, had no idea what we'd be getting into and were pleasantly surprised. The food was awesome - chicken salad and some kind of lettuce-wrap-like appetizer were unbelievably good, as was my sea bass special with some kind of saki sauce. Even the fried rice was light, and didn't seem at all fried. The waiter seemed mostly confused and could not even discuss the wine, let alone recommend one. But we did get what we ordered : ) It was pricier than you'd expect for Chinese food. We paid $70 each, and only had one bottle of wine. Pros: Light Fare, Appetizers Cons: Service, Price more
