Best

I love this hotel. Right when you walk into the lobby, you're swept with the feeling for grandeur and romance. There's gold everywhere (I think i'm just particular to gold), and t...

Worst

This was my first time traveling to Las Vegas, my trip was booked as a package deal with 6 other family members, who have been to Las Vegas over 8 times.

Not good management 11/27/2006

The room was depressing and not large enough. I got a smoking room, but, I still could smell smoke. At Main Lobby, we had to wait about 30 minutes to talk to representatives for card charge.this hotel is too big. more

The perfect fix 11/24/2006

The atmosphere is fun and there is plenty of room to dance, especially if you jump up on the tables. Most who attend are dressed classy so be ready to mingle. Out of all the clubs at the MGM I found this one to be the best. There wasn't a long ridiculous line and it wasn't extremely crowed. So ladies you don't have to worry about you're hair frizzing up. Pros: Table dancing Cons: it's not open all night more

You'll never be the same 11/24/2006

My dinning experience here is was forever memorable. Each bite melted in my mouth. The flavor is so rich so the small portions are perfect. The staff was friendly and had great recommendations. I especially enjoyed the dessert sake. This was fine dinning at it's best. Pros: Great food Cons: Very Pricey more

The Best Sea Bass 11/24/2006

This may sound naive of me but I never knew Las Vegas was a hot spot for some of the World's finest dining. This spot in particular is great for seafood. I had the best Chilean Sea bass of my life here. Be ready to spend money however. This place is not cheap. Pros: Sea Bass Cons: pricey more

Boring..... 11/20/2006

Rude bartenders, major attitude problem with the staff. Won't buy a drink there if it was the only bar in las vegas more

Decent, but not luxurious 11/18/2006

I've stayed at the MGM Grand three times now, and I will likely stay there again. The hotel is in a good location (now that the lower strip has more to do) and has quite a few decent restaurants. The monorail station is very close to the lobby. Rooms are pretty standard and not very interesting. I most recently stayed in a mini-suite and while it had a great bathroom, the bedroom area could have been just about any hotel in the area in how it looked. The hotel isn't a great value overall -- just sort of middle of the road. The worst part about the MGM is that the size means lots of people, walking, lines, and waiting. Check-in can be a long wait. Even taking the elevator down from a high floor during peak hours can seem like forever. Walking from one end of the hotel to the other is quite a hike. That said, I'll probably make a reservation soon. Pros: Lots to do, decent restaurants, close to monorail Cons: Huge, lots of walking, waiting, lines more

Great time 11/18/2006

One of the older Strip casinos, it doesn't have all the flash and fancy of some of the other places, but the interior is great, the lions are incredible, and the bar makes a great mojito! We spent our time gambling here and it was a blast. more

watch out for the parking garage 11/18/2006

This is a very nice hotel. They don't really have a theme much anymore like they used to have the whole movie set up (Wizard of Oz) back in the day, but the place is quite large. It is easy to get lost inside the structure and outside in the parking garage. Take notes on where you are parked because this particular garage is one of the worst in Las Vegas. Cons: parking garage is a nightmare more

Lions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 11/16/2006

This is a great hotel for shows. Great for concerts. The lions are also great. If you want some good restaraunts there are several to choose from. Pros: Lions Cons: the walking distance more

Much to much walking! 11/15/2006

The MGM Grand Hotel and Casino had a lot to offer everyone; food entertainment, exhibits, and animals. The emerald lights of the hotel towers with the gold lion tells everyone that you are entering an extravagant kingdom, but you have to be physically fit to navigate the premises and an excellent map reader, otherwise you will get lost in the jungle. Don't wear new shoes or high heels; you will pay dearly! Pros: There is something for everyone Cons: The walking and the air temperature...you will freeze before you get outdoors! more

Not impressed 11/15/2006

I stayed at this hotel once and was not to impressed it is too confusing and got lost a couple of times. The rooms were just average and a little pricey. The one thing I do enjoy about this hotel is the restaurant selection they have a great mexican restaurant I don't remember the name but the food and the atmosphere is really great. more

Exquisite Japanese food, drinks and ambiance -- in the MGM Grand! 11/14/2006

I'm normally skeptical of restaurants inside casinos, especially ""family-friendly"" casinos such as the MGM Grand. Not only was I NOT disappointed with Shibuya, I was actually quite impressed! The food, in a word, is exquisite. I went with a group of about 6 or 7 people, and everything we ordered was amazing. The fish was fresh, the flavors were intense, and the combinations were inventive. The drinks were incredible as well -- you owe it to yourself to spend some time looking through their sake menu. Even if you've never tried sake before -- or even if you claim to ""hate"" sake -- you're gauranteed to find something you'll like. Don't be afraid to ask your waiter for suggestions; ours brought one particular type to my attention that I'd never tried before: naturally sparkling, Nigori-style sake. It was incredible. Be prepared for a large bill, however. Hey -- it's Vegas, baby! Pros: Incredible Japanese food, sake and ambiance. Cons: Incredibly expensive! more

Great Steak, wonderful experience 11/14/2006

My boyfriend and I ate here for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. The caesar salad was great, different than your typical caesar. We both ordered rib eye steaks which were both amazing. The side dishes were great too and pretty large. For dessert we had the monkey which is one of the most unique and tasty desserts I have ever had in a restaurant. It is a bit pricey, but I had won at the tables so it evened out. Pros: everything more

Great Room Hallways 11/13/2006

We were pleased with our room and enjoyed each trip to the elevator, saying hello to yesteryears movie Pros: Good base of operations because the monorail Cons: Takes awhile to navigate this large complex more

it was ok... 11/13/2006

perhaps not may favorite cirque, but there's so many in vegas... how can one compete? if you must watch: 1.) reserve early and ask for the first row balcony. those are the best seats for your money, even if they tell you that there's not a bad seat in the house; 2.) come early, they may ask you to be part of the show; and, 3.) watch your drinks. what you think is a table may really be part of the stage. but, don't fear, there are cupholders on the seats themselves. Pros: hydrolicly powered stage Cons: expensive, but well worth the cost more

Mediocre Food 11/12/2006

My husband and I got a last-minute reservation from our hotel concierge and felt very lucky to be able to dine there last week. The decor is very modern and service was very good. The disappointment is the food ? everything was overly salty: breads, Caesar salad, fried calamari (also slightly overcooked). My parpadelle in Bolognese sauce was over-cooked and mushy. My husband?s rigatoni with ? portion of white truffles didn?t have enough taste of the truffles (may be it was too harsh to compare to the truffles we had in Bologna Italy). To top off the mediocre experience, we had to pay $5 for a soft drink. Pros: Ambience, service Cons: Food more

The best meal I have had in Vegas 11/7/2006

A small group of us went to this restaurant on a weekend jaunt to Vegas, and we were all SO glad we did. We shared several appetizers, a lovely salad, and a bunch of entrees- all were excellent but I was very partial to the short ribs with polenta- couldn't beleive how yummy it was. The wine list was amazing too. My only problem was I was full by the time we got to the desserts. (Not that it stopped me!) All around, a great little place. more
