Nagel's mounted my new scope while I waited. Other shops wanted twice the price for the same exact thing. The shop is also in a great location. I will definitely be coming for Nag...

I never thought I would rate and review Nagel's so highly, but this review is deserved.\r \r Nagel's is not my regular gun store. I usually shop at the Powderhorn. Since Nagel's was the only shop open on Monday and I had some free time, I decided to stop by. I have shopped at Nagel several times before this visit and have left with similar blah experiences that others have reported.\r \r My last visit started off as usual; with me trying to check out a couple of pistols in their dimly lit display cases in their overly packed store. A Sig P320C caught my attention and I wanted to get my hands on it to further check it out. Specifically, I wanted to feel the trigger. The price on this pistol actually appeared to be competitive. Most everything else in the store seems overpriced though.\r \r After waiting for about 5 minutes for one of the clerks to finish waiting on another customer, I was helped. ""Fast"" Eddie was courteous and helpful. I decided I wanted the pistol, but the one I was shown was in .357 Sig and I wanted a 9mm. Eddie excused himself and disappeared for about 10 minutes to look for the 9mm P320C. During my 10 minute wait, I was asked by a couple of other clerks if I had been helped. This seemed abnormal for Nagel's. ""Fast"" Eddie returned with a case and said they didn't have the exact model, but had an upgraded model. He didn't know the price and started to look it up. I thought to myself, that this was going to overpriced like most other guns at Nagel's. \r \r I had been checking prices from Bud's Guns on the internet while I was waiting for Eddie so I had a price range in mind. I was stunned when Eddie quoted me the price of the Sig P320C in a FDE finish. It was $1 more than Bud's! If you are not familiar with Bud's, their website typically has very competitive prices on firearm. Yes, this Sig came home with me.\r \r Throughout this transaction, Eddie was courteous and helpful. He said his name several times and reminded me that if I had any issues to come back and see him. WOW, I had a pleasant experience at Nagel's. I really hope this this type of service from Nagel's becomes the norm rather than the exception. Nagel's has character and with great service like I got today and competitive prices, this store could be the premier gun store in San Antonio.\r \r Nagel's, please keep up the improvement. Thanks ""Fast"" Eddie! more

Took my deceased uncle's guns to Nagels to have them priced and they were very informative and experts in firearms it seemed and did not charge me a dime. They also were very knowledgable in each states gun laws which saved me from a possible felony if they hadn't informed me that one of the guns was illegal in California, where the beneficiary of the guns lives. Nagels is a serious gunshop and therefore so are the salesman....I feel safe at Nagels.... I go to olive garden for friendly lighted heart customer service not to a gunshop! Shotguns vs. Breadsticks hmmmm more

A great place to buy guns The staff are knowledgeable and helpful and determined to give/get you exactly what you want. And they are active in fighting against those who would diminish our 2nd amendment rights. You won't find a better gun store in San Antonio. more

Still the best gun store around, they have their excellent gun smiths that have worked on my Weatherby and Kimber firearms, still a personalized store and not a big box concept of some of the chain brands. To find a place that stands behind what they sell and honor the factory warranties of accuracy and reliability, sometimes it gets really busy in the store, but a little patience can go a long way in to getting the information and service you want. more

What a great shop. As a younger guy and inexperienced shooter I have been ignored and received terrible service at other shops and big box store gun counters. The staff at Nagels wants you to leave happy. They aren't just looking for a sale. They are truly there to serve you.\r \r I had every staff member who walked by ask if I needed help, and multiple times despite making it clear I was not looking to buy a firearm the staff was willing to listen to my questions and let me handle different guns. Such a breath of fresh air not to be treated poorly because of lack of knowledge or not wanting to buy a gun at that moment. \r \r I always said please and thank you and the staff was more than happy to cater to all my needs. Thanks so much for making it easier for a new shooter. more

the people that work there are pretty cool at times. Sometimes they have ammo sale and it is a great deal. more

I was in Nagel's yesterday and was assisted immediately with an ammunition purchase. The sales rep took the time to look for a specific brand and bullet weight in their storage area. While I was waiting I was asked by three other sales reps if I needed assistance. All questions were answered and the sale was completed smoothly. I proceeded to their knife cases and while looking was asked by two sales reps if I needed assistance. They were very helpful in looking for an out of production Gerber. I have been going into Nagel's on an occasional basis for 13 years and have never experienced anything to complain about. Almost all brick and mortar gun shops are going to be more expensive than their internet counterparts, but they also have a higher overhead. more

cool place with a huge selection of great firearms, the employees are very knowledgeable, about every aspect of firearms, and will help educate you with your questions. They are a little egotistical about their vast knowledge of guns, but i found it amusing , that its probably the only thing at all they know about, i am going to recommend one of my friends to go check them out because hes been wanting an ar15. Really Cool spot to shop more

I'm sorry but the negative reviews here are out of line. I have been to the store several times, and each visit I was able to spend a *lot* of time with a salesperson. Mind you, the men who work here are obviously far more experienced with firearms than the crew at most other gun stores. \r \r It is true that the place can get busy, but this is a fact of life in the Obama era. Nonentheless, I was able to be waited on within a few minutes of arriving simply by ASKING for help. Why anyone just stands around waiting for service in a busy place is beyond me...\r \r they do have very reasonable prices on their pistols. In fact, I recently got the Sig P227, which is hard to find at all in the area, for a very competitive price.\r \r Check them out and see what you think. If nothing else, there's a lot of cool inventory to peruse. more
