Nagels is a San Antonio institution. As such, ones singular experience there cannot and does not define the place. This is the gun shop that your dad went to back when you were coming up; buying your first .22 rifle, or a few boxes of .410 or 20 gauge to introduce you to sport shooting. Prices on some items are higher than the Internet...on others, like the Ruger .22/45 Lite I just bought there--spot on. But can you handle and feel an item on the Internet, much less pick up a few boxes of ammo or a Filson hat you've been promising yourself, all in one hour? Didn't think so. So don't bother shopping at Nagels if you need a lot of hand holding from the moment you walk in the door. Go there with more than a few seconds to spare in your schedule and take a little time to look around and get the feel of the place. Introduce yourself and learn something new about firearms, clothing, or laser grips if that's your thing. If you don't get it after a visit or two, then you probably never will. Some gems are better if they are left in the rough.\r
