Muffin-like donuts, bad coffee, iffy service 10/20/2011

Many people seem to love Mighty-O donuts. I don't get it. They have a dense, greasy, grocery store muffin-like texture and indistinct flavor. They cost quite a bit more than average donuts. I think they are about on par with Entenmann's. Their coffee isn't much better. Not sure if I just have very different taste in donuts than most or if they are just cruising off their excellent use of buzzwords, but I really don't get why they are so popular. more

donuts taste yummy on rainy days 2/25/2009

Tremendous drip, organic donuts made from scratch. Original donut recipes, I like organic sprinkles on mine! Mmm how about a spiced cake french toast donut... YUM! more

Great donuts! 2/22/2009

Strongly recommend. These are not your run of the mill donuts. They are organic and everything is made from scratch. Delicious! more

Mighty Yumm!! 2/11/2007

The first time I had Mighty-O Donuts it was because they were in the coffee shop case and I wanted a donuts. I have to admit that had I been told the were organic and vegan I might not have tried them assuming organic and vegan equaled not yummy. Thank god I didn't know what I was eating because these things are delish! I have yet to make it to the retail store but am thankful my coffee shop stocks them on Fridays - and my waistline is thankfully that is only on Fridays. I would have to say that Top Pot Donuts are prettier but Mighty-O Donuts are tastier! more

Best donut I've EVER had. 2/6/2007

I just moved into Tangletown, and Mighty-O might be the mighty death of me. I walk the lake every other day, and unfortunately Mighty-O is right in my way. I just can't walk by without stopping in for a cinnamon and sugar vegan bite of deliciousness. Go there. You can thank me later. more

Oh Baby!!! 12/21/2006

If you like top pot donut's, try the mighty O donut Vegan made and that homemade taste that is the key in any donut worthy of a review! Try the raspberry glazed, or the chocolate coconut/ "Don King" is the name of it... 2 thumbs up. more

They're Supposedly Healthy 4/24/2006

I like Mighty-O's doughnuts. Its one of those places where I could go into a pre-diabetic feeding frenzy and eat until I get sick. I haven't yet, but if I did, I doubt that the repercussions would be as dreadful as what would happen if I did the same thing with doughnuts from a grocery store bakery, or Hostess brand doughnuts. They have may varieties, and use vegan/organic ingredients. I like them more than Krispy Kremes'! more

Mighty Oooodious 4/24/2006

If you're looking for some rude service complied with an okay donut, check out Mighty O donuts. Poor Alex, everyone is nice to him, but no such luck at Mighty O. He tried the donut shop one day when we were passing by. He didn't want to risk the line at Zoka's, but didn't know what poor luck was in store for him. If you want my advice, risk the wait at Zoka's--it's a better risk. more

Cravings 4/23/2006

It's rare that I have such strong cravings or salivate like Pavlov's dog when someone says donut. But Mighty-O must have some strange, addictive substance that makes me crave them so. Being vegan is actually very attractive...they don't taste fake or too sugary. And I too, love the French Toast donut. We're doing donuts for our wedding cake...why eat yucky white icing, when there are yummy, vegan donuts to be had? The cafe in Wallingford is cash/check only so be prepared. I am craving them now *drool drool* more

Donuts and coffee....mmmmm 4/4/2006

I love this place. It would be a lot easier for me to just walk down the PCC nearest me and pick one up- but going to the actual bakery is best. The FRENCH TOAST is my favorite. They have tons of different flavors and icings. This place rocks. I have never been a donut fan, but Mighty-O won me over. Now I crave them nightly......(ok, not every night- but I am saying they are GOOD STUFF). more

Organic vegan donuts? No joke! 3/5/2006

Mighty-O Donuts has the best donuts ever. They're made with no trans fats, 100% vegan products, and certified organic ingredients. They have some creative flavors too, including pumpkin and raspberry chocolate. I recommend you go in the morning - in the afternoon their selection is often limited. One donut will cost you a dollar - a great price for such a delectable dessert or breakfast. Mighty-O is near the 16 and 26 bus lines. more

The best donuts ever! 12/21/2005

I was never a huge donut fan until I went to Mighty-O for the first time 2 years ago. Their donuts are both vegan and organic, 2 words that you don't normally associate with donuts, but they made a convert out of me and now I prefer Mighty-O to anywhere else. The donuts are super moist, kind of like eating cake, and not too sweet. My favorites include the Don King (chocolate with coconut on top), Lots O'Chocolate, and the simple perfection of Cinnamon & Sugar. Yum! more

you won't even know they're vegan! 12/19/2005

The only time I can convince friends and family that donuts might be good for them is when I take them to Mighty-O. Light and moist cake donuts are their specialty, and if nobody told you you would never know they are vegan. I think I've tried ever kind of donut they make and I love every single one. The staff there is quick with a smile and they don't judge when you go back to the counter for just one more. I'm kind of a donut snob, so I was skeptical at first. But after taking that initial bite, I was sold. more

Amazing Donuts, Amazing Atmosphere 12/16/2005

We often wonder why there cannot be more donut shops like this one across the country. On our last trip to Seattle, my husband and I discovered this little donut shop across the street from our favorite coffee shop. They make fresh, homemade delicious donuts that don’t taste processed. They just taste like wonderful, hot donuts. It is a small little shop and I don’t think it is even a chain. They feature all of their donuts on silver platters in a big display case. They are hard to resist. My favorite thing about this shop is that they were closed one evening and had a chair in front of their store with the leftover donuts on it for all who walked by! more

Almost a Health Food 8/17/2005

I have practically convinced myself that eating a donut from Mighty O is good for me. Vegan, organic, no hydrogenated oils... AND they taste like donuts! Natural Food stores like PCC carry a few of their offerings, but to really become a fan, you have to go to their bakery. They have interesting flavors like lemon poppy donuts, French toast donuts, and the good old stand-bys like Glazed and chocolate frosted. It has become a bad habit to stop by after a run at Greenlake. They also sell tiny little donuts - cheap, you can try a bunch of different ones, or you can just buy one little one and get that lovely donut taste/experience w/o the guilt one might get from eating an entire one (or several). more

If your walk around greenlake left you hungry for fried vegan delicacies... 4/30/2005

This is the place to go. I second the other rave reviews of the (vegan!) donut extravaganza that is the mighty-o. The donuts are substantial and leave you full and happy. The moist cakey deliciousness is the perfect compliment to a Sunday outing. And, in the haze of cinnamon crusted or chocolate topped goodness, the lack of lard makes the donuts seem healthy, even if they aren't. more

Oh, the Mighty O!! 4/30/2005

When I decided to move to Seattle, no small part of my decision was based on the fact that Seattle is extremely vegan-friendly. But I had no idea of the goodness that awaited me and my son in the shape of the humble O. The Mighty-O is a vegan donut shop. Vegan donuts?! Yes, and just like the lard-fried originals, they're entirely unhealthy, and entirely scrumptious. Unlike the original versions, though, Mighty-O donuts are slightly less health-threatening. They're fried in palm oil, and made with organic ingredients! The donuts are perfectly fried to a crispy outside with soft cake inside, and besides the classic glazed and chocolate coated, they also come in many more favors such as chocolate raspberry, French toast, and lemon poppyseed. You can find Mighty-O donuts in many coffee shops and grocery stores (such as PCC and Whole Foods Market), but a particularly nice treat is to stop in the bakery to be able to choose from the full selection, and have a "Good Cop Special" (you can guess what that is, right?) while your kids flip through the books in the corner box. Lest you think that all that's available is sugar-coated gluttony, they also have prepared sandwiches (with Field Roast) until they sell out. I also saw a couple perfectly-ripe bananas available. They have an espresso bar, too, so you can get a mocha if you really want to pile on the calories. Their coffee is organic and fairly traded. Arrive between 4 and 5 pm and take advantage of happy hour - 2 for 1 donuts! There's not much more Seattle can possibly offer since it boasts its own vegan donut shop. I'll never move away. more

Great Vegan Donuts 4/5/2005

I'm sure they're still bad for you, but we love Mighty-O Donuts. It's more kid friendly than Zoka. The kids can watch the donut robot squeeze out these tasty confections and there's a box of toys and books. more
