I have bought wonderful little treasures at many of her sales....but.....the people who work the sales are sooo unfriendly that it's exasperating.\r The woman who takes the money...

TONS OF STUFF-TONS OF FUN 7/17/2010

I really enjoy these sales and try not to miss any of them. I have gone for years and have gotten some really neat things, many at really great prices. I go with a list of what I'm looking for and have scratched several things off my list! I really like both Jennifer and Margie. They have both been so nice to me that it makes me want to keep coming back! Any time I can, I take a friend or visiting relative with me for great fun! Pros: Convenient times (weekends); fun people; great selection Cons: So much great stuff that I can't get to it all FIRST!` more

Rudest Ever 7/1/2010

Jennifer is the Rudest person on this planet. I have sworn to ban her estate sale. She has been SO rude to people and talks down to them. Conversations are being held in the rooms throughout the house on her Rudness. SHE NEEDS TO BE BOYCOTTED. Pros: Estate Sales Cons: Jennifer is the Rudest Estate Sales Person EVER more

MARGIE BEEGLE SELLS! 4/14/2010

Liquidating an estate is a complex undertaking that requires skill, experience and integrity. From my perspective, the estate sale professional walks a tightrope, trying to maintain balance, by attempting to guarantee a return to his client, while offering attractive goods at a fair price to the estate sale shopper. This is not an easy task, there are many complications that face the seller of an estate: Frequently, the need for an estate sale and the window of time to shop for a professional to conduct it comes during a very stressful time of life. Different areas of town have varying regulations regarding public sales in private homes and the seller needs to be experienced in how to work within these restrictions. Often family members may be unaware of the value of certain items in an estate; a keen eye is needed to recognize such items and market them appropriately. On the other hand a family member may have emotional attachment to an item they deem valuable, yet in the reality of the marketplace that value is not reflected in dollars. Then there is making the public feel welcome when the sale actually takes place, which is an art in itself. In the process of interviewing several estate sale professionals in Houston, it wasn’t until I met Jennifer Beegle at Margie Beegle Sales that I felt confident that I could hand the job over to someone that would take charge and enable me to get on with the other responsibilities of closing an estate. In my search I found it revealing that several of the other qualified professionals had pared down their work to “appraisals only” and left the tremendous undertaking of an actual sale behind. I could not imagine the labor intensive task of going through every item in my home, determining its actual public value and then attempting to sell it all in a single weekend. I had no concept of the exhaustive research that goes on in order to open the doors of a private home for an estate sale. The first validation that I had made an excellent choice in Jennifer occurred when the wonderfully devoted Margie Beegle Sales team showed up at my home and shared a genuine camaraderie in the task before them. They all not only seemed to respect their boss, Jennifer, they appeared to adore her. Then I witnessed Jennifer begin the painstaking process of valuing many hundreds of items, from the ordinary to the extraordinary, finding value in things that I would have never recognized. The sale was a tremendous success. I am very grateful for the wonderful efforts of Margie Beegle Sales, its loyal team, and especially Jennifer Beegle, who served me to complete an enormous undertaking during a difficult time in my life. I highly recommend their services. I am honored to have made a friend in Jennifer and I look forward to getting know more of the Margie Beegle Sales team at their future sales. Pros: the whole experience more

Simply the best estate sale service! 3/26/2010

I have used Margie Beegle Sales 3 times and attended many of their sales. I have always found Margie and Jennifer Beegle to be the most ethical, organized and professional service group in the resale industry.\r \r They provide full-time, on site security so that you never have to worry about any problems. They leave your property clean. They are fast, reliable and they and their employees are extremely nice.\r \r When you attend a sale, they may not have time to be ""chatty"" but afterall this is not your ""neighborhood garage sale"", this is a business being run in the most professional way. It's exactly the way I want my belongings to be treated -- with respect for their value, both financially and emotionally. Pros: Ethical, organized and professional more

Attention to Detail is the BEST 3/15/2010

I attend estate sales often, not only in Houston, but in other cities, as well. I've never attended a sale that was better organized than a Margie Beegle Sales event. Jennifer and her crew go the extra mile to display and price each item carefully. As a shopper, I appreciate their effort and accuracy. Her homeowner clients must appreciate this service tremendously, as well. I find the quality of her sales to be exceptional, the organization of her sales is outstanding, security is always pleasant and appropriate, the staff is helpful and well informed. I can't think of anything to criticize about any of the sales I've attended and I've been a Margie Beegle shopper for over 10 years. I'm pleased to write this review and would recommend Margie Beegle Sales to anyone who wants to attend a great estate sale or to anyone with an estate to liquidate. Better yet, attend one of her sales and see for yourself how an estate sale should be run! Pros: No detail overlooked; great staff more

My FAVORITE estate sale company in Houston 3/9/2010

I am a small antiques dealer in Houston and attend many estate sales in Houston. My favorite estate sale company is Margie Beegle Sales because I always know exactly what to expect at their sales.. For two reasons ONE - they do an outstanding job of describing the sale, notifying buyers and showing pictures of the sale and TWO due to the efficient and organized way in which they ALWAYS run their sales nothing gets out of hand and everything is handled in a fair manner. Jennifer is a ""goddess"" at handling the frenzied crowds and buyers who due to excitement and competitiveness at the beginning of the sale can get carried away (myself being one of them!!). Without the clear cut organized manner in which their sales are conducted any sale can easily turn into mayhem with angry buyers and loss of sales. I NEVER have to worry about that with Jennifer at the helm...All that is expected of buyers is general politeness and conduct...hey I know its hard when we are on the hunt but come on folks....it's not that hard!!! And from a seller's standpoint, because her sales are so well organized and run she gets plenty of repeat buyers....without buyers no sale is successful.... Margie's staff is very adept at pricing just right!!!! ...you never feel like they have over inflated the prices (which would lead me not to go) nor do you feel like they are on the buyers side. Things of real value are always clearly priced with Jennifer's appraisal knowledge and when she doesn't know she finds out (much to my dismay)!!!!!....it is always clear to me they represent the seller and are there to maximize profits for the seller...but at the same time if they don't sell the stuff they have maximized nothing and they know that!! Other estate sales I attend sometimes price the junk like its really something...Jen knows what she's doing and actually gets more money for junk than other sellers I deal with... I love them all at Margie Beegle Sales....the jewelery ladies are fun, Travis is a hoot, all the staff is nice and business like and Jen heads it all up on site. I would and do refer this company to anyone who asks me ""who is the best estate sale company in town"" - I alway reply ""Margie Beegle Sales"". Pros: Efficiently run/organized, well published pictures Cons: Lots of buyers!!! more

Great shopping 3/9/2010

Margie Beegle Sales consistently manages quality estate sales with beautiful merchandise; exceptional staging (it matters); and helpful, courteous (and sometimes hilariously silly) staff. I choose them first for shopping and would hire them in a minute if I needed their services. And as a bonus, you just might get a doughnut! Pros: quality of experience more

Great weekend fun! 3/9/2010

I love Margie Beegle sales! I’ve been to several and always have fun. The staff looks like they enjoy working there. They are courteous and helpful. Prices seem fair and I appreciate how quickly the checkout line moves! Pros: I like the fact that they take credit cards Cons: Usually sales close at 4 PM - I wish it were longer more

Very pleased with sales results 3/8/2010

We used Margie Beegle Sales to help close out our parents estate. The sale was handled with care and very professional. Everything was well organized and priced very fairly. We had no problems what-so-ever. They even cleaned up after the sale. Received our checks just as promised and on time. Highly recommend. Thanks for a job well done. Pros: Very professional and well run more

Exceptional sales for both homeowner & buyers 3/8/2010

I've been going to Margie Beegle Sales for at least 10 years and have always experienced the staff as professional, knowledgeable, and reasonable. Their sales are well-managed and the prices fair. The discount schedule is consistent and reasonable and Jen treats clients fairly. The management at Margie Beegle straddles the fine line between maximizing the sale for the homeowner as well as being fair to the buyers - after all, we all want a bargain! The bottom line is that you get back what you give - some people show up and try to buy a $300 piece of jewelry for $3. I've seen shoppers be rude and truly difficult, and no one should have to put up with that behavior when there are hundreds of people shopping and lining up. Behave well and you're treated well. Isn't that the golden rule we all live by? Pros: always fair, well-organized more

More truth... 2/2/2010

My names Is Jennifer Beegle and I am the lovely cashier at Margie Beegle Sales most of the time. For the record, this past weekend we did a wonderful sale and had in excess of 150 people in line when we opened the door compared to one of my competitors--one specifically mentioned by Mr. Scott--who had 10 people. We run great sales and we LOVE our customers. We have approximately 8,000 email clients and our list grows daily. We hold consistently well priced, well run, full sales that sell to the bare walls every single weekend. And we LOVE our clients :) That being said, we have rules. The rules insure that our seniors--the people who hire us--are protected as well as our shopping clients. We do not allow food or drinks in the sale, we LOVE children and want them to be safe so we do not allow them to come into the homes, if you put something on the sold table (note the word SOLD) you must buy it (and there are 10 plus signs up that go over this) and you have to be polite to other customers shopping. Simple straightforward rules that make shopping fair and easy for all--as long as you like fun sales, well run, fairly priced with a LOVELY cashier who doesn't put up with malarky at the check out. See you all this weekend :) And thank you to all my nice clients who noticed this gentleman's strange post and thus my response. Pros: We love our clients and our job! Cons: mean people more

Transparency and Compassion Will Always Win the Day 2/23/2009

I interviewed four companies before choosing Margie Beegle Estate Sales to handle a very large estate sale in the Memorial area. I chose Margie Beegle because her daughter, Jennifer, was forthright and on point in answering all of my questions. She stressed just how her company would maintain transparency throughout the entire process, which was my biggest area of concern. Her understanding and compassion towards the family who's beloved belongings were being sold sealed the deal for me. Throughout the process, Jennifer displayed professionalism and an upbeat attitude that helped everyone through a very trying time. I would, and have, recommended their company to anyone who might need their services. more

thanks Jennifer and staff 2/22/2009

I am a volinteer for a church in the houston area. We have a rummage sale twice a year ,which supports our many ministries. Thanks to Jennifer and her generious clients our sales are a great success and many people look forward to them every year. without Jennifer and her support we would have a hard time making our goal every year., and we would not be able to help as many people as we do. Thank you. Also I would like to say I go to almost all of the estate sales and have seen many people who just dont want to follow the rules. You have to rember this is a huge undertaking and would be a disaster without guidelines and rules for everyone to follow . This makes for a great sale for everyone . For those few who cannot seem to follow the rules, they need to be removed or asked to leave. I believe for the savety and comfort of all guest as well as the clients, Pros: something for everyone Cons: cant buy everything I want more

another great Margie Beegle sale day! 2/21/2009

Just returned from another great sale at Margie Beegle Sales where I loaded up on old flower pots and other gardening treasures. I almost didn't go because it was such a glorious gardening morning and most of the photos of the sale didn't look that interesting (the 70s are WAY too close to my era and I'm still having trouble thinking of them as vintage!). But there were all those clay pots just calling my name. As usual I managed to pick up a few other little ""can't do without"" items including some fabulous old gardening books and splendid vintage Christmas decorations. \r \r I love the way the people who work her sales are so enthusiastic and helpful and seem to always point out something I would have missed (especially Travis---gotta love him!). They always look like they're having fun while working (duh! what's not to like about being surrounded all day by piles and piles of bodacious stuff and more stuff and more stuff!). A few weeks ago I really scored on several nice pieces of antique crystal for Christmas gifts and wonderful vintage patio furniture at prices I couldn't believe. That's the best thing about Margie Beegle Sales. Seems there's always a bargain and I've been able to furnish my home with great cottage looking pieces almost completely from her estate sales. She puts on the best estate sales in Houston and I've grown to depend on them for a regular treat. Keep up the good work. Pros: always a good selection; friendly & helpful staff; frequency of sales; good prices (and GREAT end of sale mark-downs) Cons: I can't get to ALL the sales! more

Best Estate Sales in Houston 2/20/2009

I am not a burrito expert... but I do know a lot about estate sales... and I can promise you Margie Beegle Sales are the best managed in this area. I have a small shop and get a large part of my merchandise at Beegle Sales... wish I could keep everything I buy. I absolutely love the digger sales and can't tell you how many little gems I've found. I like the way she posts good clear photos prior to the sale as it gives me a good idea if there is someting I absolutely cannot live without. I also like the fact no young children are allowed... makes it much easier to navigate the rooms when there are no baby strollers or youngsters running around. \r \r I first met Jennifer and her mom years ago when they handled my mother's estate sale. They were so kind and helpful and I was surprised at the effort they put into looking up values of some of her items. They ended up sending several pieces to auction and brought the family a lot more money than we'd expected. My mother was in a long term care facility and the income from her estate sale helped us keep her in a nicer facility which made the end of her life a lot more comfortable. My family will never forget the kindness and professionalism of the Margie Beegle Sales team and we are forever grateful for their help.\r \r I would not hesitate to recommend Margie Beegle Sales to anyone needing an estate sale or to anyone who loves chasing the bargains!\r \r I must add a note about the extremely nasty review... sounds like someone with a bone to pick... specially since they state they still come to the sales... must be SOMETHING worth returning for... eh? I've never noticed Jennifer wearing sweats... & what if she did? I mean... we're talking estate sale... not the supreme court. I'm a nice person and find people mostly treat me the same. On the same note, I've seen some rather rude people showing their backside at some of the sales... perhaps they'd be better served if they showed a little respect & kindness? Pros: frequency of sales; photos & website; knowledge of antiques & collectibles Cons: I can't buy everthing I want! more

Best Estate Sale Company in town 1/27/2009

The staff at Margie beegle Sales are very friendly and professional. The items are resonably priced and there is always a new treasure. I am on their mailing list and go to all the sales. Our Church has a bazaar every year and I am responsible for the silent auction. I get almost all of our items by shopping Margie Beegle Sales. This has been a tradition for the last three years and works wonders!!!!!!!! Also, when my daughter lost everything in Hurricane Katrina, I was able to totally refurnish her home from Margie Beegle Sales without breaking the budget and she got really nice things. Give them all the stars available!!!!!!! I have made a note in my will for them to handle my estate when that time comes. more

""Secret Source"" 1/27/2009

I am almost reluctant to post this review as Margie Beegle and her expert sales team have for many years been my personal ""secret source"" for great finds at reasonable prices. Now, you all know...A special comment about items not priced - Margie Beegle's sales team will check for you on a particular item, but the real gem is that Jennifer (at the cash register) usually will give you a really good deal if you purchase a number of items. Occasionally, I must leave an item behind because the price does not fit my budget, but I have always been treated with kindness in these cases. One more thing - if you only knew the amount of effort producing these ""events"", you would never complain about high prices! more

Professionally run sales and great shopping 1/27/2009

I have been to estate sales held by just about every estate sale company that has operated in Houston over the last 20 years. One of my favorite places to shop (for myself and for resale) is a Beegle estate sale. I feel compelled to express my opinion about this after having read some of the other ?less than kind"" posts made here. The Beegle sales have been my favorite estate sales for years now. They do a great job of corresponding with their customers about upcoming sales. The staff is knowledgeable, hard working, honest and pleasant. Conducting an estate sale is a big responsibility. The Beegle?s job is to get the best possible prices for the owner of the estate. However, the sale takes place over a very limited time (1 to 3 days) and that offers a very small window of opportunity to accomplish this. This is what gives shoppers an opportunity to get good deals on antique & vintage items! The thrill of the hunt and the adrenaline rush must be what makes some shoppers insensitive to a few ""rules? that are essential to the success of an estate sale for both buyer and seller. Be respectful of the items for sale and the staff and mind your manners. It will not go unnoticed and it will greatly improve your shopping experience. Even though I shop a lot, I don?t spend a lot of money. It makes no difference to the Beegles. Their success relies on hundreds of buyers like me who buy just a little bit?as well as the ?big guns? who spend a lot?and they know it. They always remember me and take good care of me. I think they are top notch and I highly recommend them to conduct a professionally run sale and for great shopping!\r \r Pros: Great shopping! Cons: Can't buy it all! more

Top Notch Estate Sale Provider 1/27/2009

I am a Houston Realtor and highly recommend Margie Beegle and her staff. I have worked with them on many occasions over the last six years and find them extremely professional, knowledgeable and courteous. They have a wonderful website that they upload pictures of the upcoming sales which is extremely helpful to my clients and their email customers. Each sale is displayed and well organized in the home and prices are extremely reasonable. The staff is very helpful, kind and know their business. I personally find Jennifer to be especially professional from the beginning to the end of each sale. She has a staff that comes in and sets up and then can recommend companies to remove items that haven't sold, clean the house and have it ready to put on the market. She has worked with several of my clients and each and every one of them have been extremely satisfied. I would recommend Margie Beegle sales to anyone that is looking to have an estate sale or for anyone that enjoys shopping at estate sales. more

I would want her to sell my estate! 1/27/2009

I've attended many dozens of Margy Beegle sales over the past few years. I would choose her to dispose of my personal estate should that ever be necessary. The Principal, Jennifer is a straight-talking, no-nonsense businesswoman, and I like that approach very much. I appreciate that they do not allow children in the sales. These folks have a strong knowledge of market values and know how to price things appropriately. The staff seems intelligent, trustworthy and honest.\r \r I've done lots of business with many estate sales firms around the city. I find that Margy Beegle sales exemplifies a level of professionalism that sets a standard, in contrast to many of the sloppy mom and pop estate sales companies one often encounters. Pros: honest staff; security on site; no kids allowed. Cons: sometimes the sales attract excessively large crowds. more
