Nothing short of fantastic - huge portions and great food. Forget those who claim this is not authentic cajun and head over. I have had many meals here and never one complaint. Fa...

I moved to Austin 6 months ago from Louisiana . The first time I went there, it was not busy, the service was great and the food was excellent. About 2 weeks later I decided to go...

Find great cajun food in Round Rock 10/13/2006

LLC provides a good selection of well prepared cajun food. The specials boards give a preview of the delights to come. They are constantly coming up with new ideas to please the patrons. Coming from New Orleans to live in Austin, this is a great place to get a taste of home! Pros: Great Menu more

Other better places in Round Rock 9/4/2006

This was my last visit to this restaurant. I agree that something has totally changed. The gumbo just flat out is dirty water. The service was just ok and the shrimp were rubbery and tasted like they were reheated in a microwave. We use to come a couple times a month but have found a new dining place right up the road!!! Pros: no wait to get in Cons: food not very good more

Watery Gumbo 9/29/2005

I was not impressed with this so called Cajun Resturant. The Seafood Gumbo was watered down and the taste of the Roux was almost forgotten it seems. The food was expensive for the Quality. I recomend you look elsewhere instead of this TOURIST TRAP. more

Use to be our one of our favorites 7/26/2005

I use to love this place. The owners and atmosphere are wonderful...but the last two times we went the food was not as good as it always has been. I was very disappointed - because the time before last we thought maybe just maybe something was wrong. The last time is was just as disappointing. Now I can't get my husband to go back. I hope the owners find out cause they are great! Pros: owners, atmoshpere, price Cons: food more

Good choice for something different! 5/12/2005

We've been to this restaurant twice now and have enjoyed it both times. The portions are large and the food is flavorful. The service was impeccable; everyone was very attentive to making sure that our experience was the best possible. Even the kids' menu choices are great. Our son had the mac and cheese and it was so good that Dad and I couldn't stop stealing bites. Get the fried jalapenos/onion strings to start for something a little different. more

Close to cajun...but not there yet 7/13/2004

Being a true cajun, I'm picky...but the shrimp here are very strange. Extremely pale, and virtually no flavor, almost like they came from China or something. The lima beans with sausage are very good. Gumbo is passable considering this place is in the heart of ""chicken-fried steak land"". The crawfish, when in season, are quite tasty, and worth the $$ if you're a junkie, like me. Service is always outstanding. Pros: La. food more

DISAPPOINTED 7/8/2004

This used to be my very favorite cajun food place. I don't know what happened to it. They must have changed owners or something. I brought 4 friends from Louisiana in three weeks ago and the food and service was very different from the way it used to be. This is my third bad experience there this year and I am not coming back. I always said it was too good to be true. What a shame!! Pros: reasonable price, cool place, no wait Cons: , service was bad, not very friendly more

texcook1 7/14/2003

This is the best and most authentic Cajun food I have had since I left Louisiana and became a Texan. The gumbo and seafood bring back memories of family get- togethers where everybody brought their best dishes. There are several places around here that call themselves Cajun, but the Louisiana Longhorn proves it with their food. The beer is cold and the bar drinks are fantastic. The food wasn't too hot for my kids to eat and they loved the ""longhorn gator"". Pros: large portions, priced reasonably Cons: could be bigger more

Crawfish Heaven 7/11/2003

Being raised in Louisiana, I know what good crawfish is all about. This place has GREAT crawfish whether it's boiled, fried, or etouffe. Most people think that Cajun food is always hot and spicy, but it's really about the flavor. These guys have the right blend of all three that let's you truly enjoy the food without having to wash down every bite with something cold to drink. And the catfish is tremendous! But whatever you do, don't miss out on their homemade cream pies. The cocunut is the best I've ever had. I would rate these guys as high as you can get when it comes to authentic Cajun food. You won't be disappointed!! Pros: excellent food, value priced, fun atmosphere more

Great atmosphere and food 7/11/2003

Our family loves to eat at the Louisiana Longhorn Cafe. There is something for everyone on the menu, even if you're not a cajun. Pros: Good value, quick seating, friendly staff more

Thank You!! 7/8/2003

I travel frequently to Austin and would have to say that this has to be the best restaraunt for authentic cajun food outside of the Crescent City, bar none!!! Additionally the best feature of the menu was the butterbeans! I haven't had anything like them since I was a young man in Baird, Texas. Thank you for bringing back the memories, everything was fantastic! more

GREAT FOOD!!! 7/6/2003

I previously have lived in Louisiana and i had been longing for some real cajun cuisine ever since i have been living here in Austin and finally i have found it. This restaurant may even be better than the cajun restaurants that i have been to in Louisiana. And my girlfriend who is not generally a big seafood fan liked it a lot also. I would recommend this place to everyone even to real cajuns. more

Poo-Yie!!...That's Good Stuff!! 6/30/2003

Louisiana Longhorn Cafe might be the only local, so-called ""Cajun"" restaurant that would be successful in Acadiana...the heart of Cajun Country. Why?!..because this is how real Cajuns prepare their food. Nothing avant garde with non-indigenous ingredients and fancy-smancy titles. Just straightforward, old-fashioned Cajun cuisine that embodies the essence of South Louisiana. This is the real deal. OUTSTANDING! more

This place is yummy! 6/17/2003

Do yourself a favor and check out this new hot spot! The boiled crawfish is perfect and will make you think you're in South Louisiana. This time we had the Seafood Platter and Texas Cheeseburger and they were both absolutely wonderful! The service is great and the atmosphere is casual and fun with a Louisiana and Texas flair. The seafood gumbo is the best we've ever had. We were too full for dessert, but we saw a slice of pie that looked homemade. The people who work there are friendly and made us feel welcome. more

Honestly Great 6/9/2003

I am so glad this place exists. The fish sampler plate is enormous and tasty, the burger is fantastic, the prices are great. The ice cold beer is another favorite! I would pass on Main St. Grill anyday for this place. Honestly. more

Cajun Spices up Round Rock 4/13/2003

Hey, Gumbo's-look out! Just down the street is a cozy liitle cajun cafe that is rocking Round Rock. I ordered the crawfish etoufee and the portion was huge. It was seasoned just right-spicy! Terrific cajun flavors. The prices are reasonable. The owners (from Louisiana) mingle to welcome you. Look for live zydego music to come soon. The wait was minimal, but as soon as the word gets out, these guys will have to expand. Yee-haw! Pros: great cajun, reasonable price, good service Cons: small venue more
