beam88990, how long you worked for leading edge? or you are a real idiot...tactics like this will only get nasty letters to atty's generals of states... Cons: phone etiquette

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/12/2012

These fools keep calling me looking for someone I have never heard of. I have called them multiple times asking them to stop, but they don't stop, and they don't give a crap. This has been going on for many months, and I have reported them to several consumer agencies. These could be the most annoying incompetent people I have ever been forced to deal with. more

Bullies at Large 3/10/2008

? These people hound you to the ends of the earth! They have no phone manners what-so-ever, are rude and demeaning. They threaten you with ""legal action"", yet are unwilling to work with you in resolving an issue. I was contacted for a debt that was dismissed in court almost 4 years ago. Then they add their own collection fees to the amount you supposedly owe, say they'll settle for half (if you pay immediately, if not, you end up paying the entire amount) but don't work out payments for you. If they really wanted the money, they would be willing to work with you in getting it paid, no matter what. To make matters worse, these accounts are ones they purchased for pennies on the dollar. According to my credit report, the original company has written it off, and I have just recently got a line of credit from them for almost $18,000! So who really wants the money? Where is it really going? When I went to court 4 years ago, I didn't dispute A debt, I disputed the AMOUNT and the agency at that time didn't show back up, so it was dismissed. And I say let them take me to court again, because I will still fight the amount. If they were decent about it, then no problem...but try to strong arm me...I don't think so. Bad things happen to good people. It's not like most people don't want to pay their bills, it's just that LIFE happens. (I was paying this account and in 2 years time, we lost 2 homes, 1 to a fire and 1 to a tornado and 1 month after the tornado, my husband was hosp. at UVA for Acute Resp. Distress Syn. and needed 6 months of rehab when he came home 25 days later), so yeah, I got behind on the payments. Be a little more sympathetic and willing to work out an arrangement. If you want YOUR money that bad, you would be willing to take what you can get WHEN you can get it. Pros: None that I've seen. Cons: Rude, demeaning, unwilling to work with you, demanding more

The most VILE customer service ever! 5/15/2007

Leading Edge Recovery Solutions is one of the most vile businesses I have come into contact with. The debt collectord there are full of hatred, and the're not afraid to show it. The representative that I had the (un)pleasure of talking to, acted as if I were a child, being scorned for doing something naughty. The woman did not care to hear that I have had unexpected medical bills arise recently, just wanted ""her"" money. I then talked to her supervisor. I told TOM that I did not want to be contacted at work again. He agreed and we hung up with nothing resolved. JANET called me again the following week. I called back and spoke to TOM again. He insisted that I never told him not to call me at work! Basically, he called me a liar to my face! I told him that I was going to report himself and JANET to the Federal Trade Commission for breaking the law. He proceeded to hang up on me! Very Professional! I did make a report to the FTC, and I would encourage others who have to deal with this kind of bullying to do the same! Nothing will change unless people like us do something about it and stand up for ourselves. Pros: None Cons: All more

Horrible Collections 3/8/2007

I had the worst time speaking with this company. At no time was the staff professional. I was told I paid to much for a mortgage (which had nothing to do with anything), I was questioned about my character, and was told they would not help me resolve the problem. I just filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office in Pennsylvania. The only nice comment must have been from an employee that needs the business. more

The worst Collection Agency on the Planet 9/28/2006

Today, we became an unknowing victim of the Hitler tactics of this collection agency. They tried to collect money over the phone from one of the members of my family that she wasn't even aware she owned. Thank the Lord, she called us for advise, otherwise she would have paid something she didn't owe. Their first comment to me, who wasn't even the accountholder, was that my family member was going to be criminally charged if she didn't call them within 48 hours. The matter was a minor bank mix-up regarding the closing of a checking account that had not been processed correctly and the bank was charging ""under minimum balance"" fees on an account that had been inactive for 1 1/2 years. After we contacted the bank, they were apologetic for the mix-up and said they would investigate it, and for us not to deal with Leading Edge Recovery again. It too bad that people have to be treated in such a horrific manner, especially on the first contact. We own a business and have problems with payments, but I would never want any of my clients to ever experience the degrading way that we were treated today. The LERS representative even made the comment to the accountholder, ""you need to cut the imbilical cord"". It a good thing that our family helps eachother out, otherwise, our famiily member may have fallen victim to this terrorists collection agency. Someone needs to tell LERS that we live in America and debtors prisons went out with the corset. Anyone who is looking for a collection agency for their accounts should think twice before even considering this firm if they don't want to be sued themselves. By the way, when I asked the LERS representative what the company did, she said they were an investment firm, clearly a lie. Cons: Threatening degrading customer service more

RUDE 9/26/2006

LERS is absolutely the WORST collection agency I have dealt with, hands down. They have extremely rude, obnoxious, overbearing, know-it-all customer service people (not how I want my clients handled), and have no collection 'manners' whatsoever. They are pushy, and do not deal well with the people they are trying to collect money from. Their managers should tell the customer service that you can catch more flies with honey...human decency goes a long way, and that is something that LERS knows NOTHING about. Cons: Rudest customer service more
