The worst Collection Agency on the Planet 9/28/2006

Today, we became an unknowing victim of the Hitler tactics of this collection agency. They tried to collect money over the phone from one of the members of my family that she wasn't even aware she owned. Thank the Lord, she called us for advise, otherwise she would have paid something she didn't owe. Their first comment to me, who wasn't even the accountholder, was that my family member was going to be criminally charged if she didn't call them within 48 hours. The matter was a minor bank mix-up regarding the closing of a checking account that had not been processed correctly and the bank was charging ""under minimum balance"" fees on an account that had been inactive for 1 1/2 years. After we contacted the bank, they were apologetic for the mix-up and said they would investigate it, and for us not to deal with Leading Edge Recovery again. It too bad that people have to be treated in such a horrific manner, especially on the first contact. We own a business and have problems with payments, but I would never want any of my clients to ever experience the degrading way that we were treated today. The LERS representative even made the comment to the accountholder, ""you need to cut the imbilical cord"". It a good thing that our family helps eachother out, otherwise, our famiily member may have fallen victim to this terrorists collection agency. Someone needs to tell LERS that we live in America and debtors prisons went out with the corset. Anyone who is looking for a collection agency for their accounts should think twice before even considering this firm if they don't want to be sued themselves. By the way, when I asked the LERS representative what the company did, she said they were an investment firm, clearly a lie. Cons: Threatening degrading customer service more
