bad customer service 9/14/2006

I went to this spa today(sep 14) and the lady who did the pedicure and manicure really pi**ed me off, I went with some of my friends and literally i can see that she skipped many steps and did little message, just applied the cream and rubbed it, when i asked her, she told everyone nail is different and yours are clean so it didn't take long, she started doing the job 10 min later than others and finished it first and others where still massaging. I don't recommend this place to anyone, try to avoid Tr*n. more

Spa 4/17/2006

I work in the Santa Clara area so sometimes I go to Lavande Nail Spa during my lunch hour. There is never a long wait during this time which is great. They always help me pretty quickly. They give me time to choose my nail polish colors and then get right to work. The lady that does my nails is very sweet, always trying to make conversation and keep me comfortable. The prices are pretty good for the quality of treatment. What I also like are the scented waters they use for the pedicures. It leaves your feet soft and tingly. And the quality of the nail polish is also great. It seems to last me about 1 1/2- 2 weeks. Thats a long time for nail polish more

Luxury Nails for Less 12/6/2005

If you're looking for a nail salon that offers the amenities and comfort of a high priced day spa without paying premium dollar, than this is the place to go. Lavende offers waxing, facials, and massages in addition to various nail services. The Santana Row location is an airy, spacious storefront with elegant furnishings and a soothing atmosphere. My first experience at Lavande took place about 8 months ago in the SF location. Given that I was 15 min late on a Sat afternoon, I understood that it would be difficult to keep the appt. However, I was not offered any suggestions to reschedule, wait, or come back later. Rather what I received was a rude, "Sorry, we can't take you". I found them to be somewhat rude and condescending. Recently, I decided to give them another chance and went to the Santana Row location. It's definitely a place to go to if you want a clean, pretty environment. For a mani/pedi, prices are decent ($35) and the quality of the work is a tad above the typical nail shop, but definitely cannot compare with that of a day spa. Service was lacking at this location also. Although the front counter girls spoke english and were friendly and polite, the girls doing nails did not speak much english, and they all seemed to chat more amongst themselves than with the clients. After I was seated, I requested a specific polish color, and had my request ignored. This was rather uncomfortable as I did not want to demand to get up and grab the color I wanted on my toes, or further upset the girl doing my nails, since she seemed to be annoyed by this request. Luckily for me I saw something similar laying around and I just settled for that one. In summary, a decent salon for the price, but don't expect too much on the service side. more

Pedicure from Heaven, without selling your soles. 8/31/2005

There are many things I'd do for a smooth feet and perfectly polished nails, but risking some flesh-eating bacteria disease in a sweatshop like environment are not on the list. With its airy interiors and French country antiques (the Santana Row location doesn't hurt either), Lavande Nail Spa makes you feel like you're in Provence, not some drab strip mall. In other words, you're really being pampered. But you don't have to pay $40-50 like at other posh salons in the South Bay. A basic pedi costs $25! Lavande has a dozen or so pedicure stations, where a businesslike esthetician will soak your feet in cucumber scented water and get down to business. The polishes are all Essie and OPI and are all current, stylish colors like deep reds and sheer pink and beige. Walk-ins are usually available M-F, but appt. necessary for the weekends. Aside from manis and pedis, Lavande also has facials and massages. I'll have to try them next time. This review is for the Santana Row location, but Lavande also has two shops in San Francisco. more
